Fantastic trip
If you have ever harboured thoughts of climbing Kilimanjaro, go for it!This is a brilliant trip with excellent friendly and knowledgeable guides. There is so much more to this trip than simply reaching Uhuru point or not. We saw baboons and blue monkeys, beautiful landscapes and met many amazing people.. Do not underestimate the physical and mental impact of summit day though. This involves a trek to Kibo camp, followed by some rest, then around 11 hours or so of solid walking to the summit and returning to Kibo camp, a short rest.and then a further 3-4 hours walking before reaching Horombo camp and falling completely exhausted into your sleeping bag. None of our group were elite athletes but we all exercised regularly. We ranged in age from 21 to 66 years and both the youngest and the oldest achieved the summit. Not to be missed!
Most Inspirational Moment
Funnily enough, on our way to the airport we saw Kilimanjaro rising high above the clouds like Jacks beanstalk in the fairy tale and there was a sense of wonder that we could and indeed had reached its summit. I will carry that memory with me forever as it was only then that the scale of our achieve, net really hit hom.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Brilliant. Make ke is funny, slight lions winded but warm, friendly helpful and knowledgeable.
Advice for Potential Travellers
You should take some plastic bags for keeping your litter in and also for taking any used toilet paper away. Kili is a special place and we must ensure we leave it as we find it. Unfortunately, not everyone does this and there is a lot of litter. Tour companies must push this more.
Re trip notes, I don't think summit day notes are wholly accurate. It's a lot more than 6 Kim walking that day.

A long and hard road.
The trip travelled through Uzbekistan, Kazestan and Kirgizstan. We have been on many Exodus tours before but felt this was the least well designed and involved the most travelling for little outcome.
The first week in Uzbekistan travelling to the silk road cities was excellent. Lots to see and do and some ability to wander as well as being led. When we got to the other two countries there were several consecutive days on the coach for 5 to 8 hours.
The night in the Yurt was just that; we arrived at 6 pm and in the morning had a 2 hour stroll before setting off again. This was the one place where a full day walk and an extra night in the yurt would have been preferable to travelling all the way around Issyk Kul Lake.
No surprise that everyone was coughing and a cold was quickly transmitted around the tour participants.
During the whole tour we only stopped at two hotels where we could walk out of the doors and go into the town. All the other hotels were a bit out of town and needed transport to get anywhere.
The food was great and most hotels good. Though why choose a hotel next to a railway line with trains that went past every half hour of so all night? The night in the Club resort was bizarre. it was empty except for us and a Dutch couple who had booked for three nights but were leaving after one. You could not walk to the town so you were stranded. The facilities such as tennis or the pool were closed. The meal was the worst we had and the bar closed at 9.30. This was our last night as the next night we would have to be up at 4 am to get to the airport. No last night party for us.
Exodus please think again.

A great trip for mountain lovers and walkers
Canada is a wonderful country. Everything is on a huge scale and beautiful. The selection of walks offered give a real insight into some of the most beautiful parts and walks there are in the Rockies.
Most Inspirational Moment
Everyone will have their personal favourite part of the trip - some of mine included the Iceline Trail, Moraine Lake and Sentinel Pass, the Glacier Walk and simply being in the van driving from one campsite to the other, listening to music and spotting wildlife and driving past miles and miles of mountains.
Thoughts on Group Leader
The group leaders worked very hard and cooked some fabulous meals. They were both very passionate about the environment and the wildlife. Where they didn't quite reach expectations was in their rigid views of how we should experience the mountains resulting in me sitting out of a couple of the walks. The guides are a really important part of the trip and how they treat you in the mountains is crucial to your enjoyment as well as your safety. Where they fell down even further was their inability to provide a customer service which included listening to the views of the group
Advice for Potential Travellers
Yes, Canada is a lovely country. Be prepared to be wowed but also to flex the itinerary due to wildlife and the weather and other things outside of anyone's control. Find out about your guides approach before you travel if possible - this is key and a common complaint amongst travellers on these trips.

Beautiful Botswana
I have just come back from trip and must say it was one of most enjoyable experiences of my life. On the way back home, I reflected that there were 9 absolutely awe inspiring moments on the trip:
– watching two cheetahs hunt and kill an impala
– our guide Kenny finding leopards on 3 different occasions and watching these beautiful creatures wandering about
– elephants everywhere
– watching a pride of lions on several occasions which included cubs
– the fantastic night sky especially on the salt plains
– rafting the Victoria falls
– being punted along on the oakavango delta
– the boat trip in the chobe National Park
– the guides and people who supported us in the delta
Our guide Kenny was absolutely first rate and guided us both to animals but also around the towns and villages of Botswana. He showed great patience with a group of novice safari holiday makers and displayed incredible knowledge on the flora and fauna of the area.
Melo our cook was equally as good. How he managed to cook lasagne, fish and chips and bread on an open fire is beyond me.
We had a great group and the camaraderie around the open fire and in the truck will remain with me for a long time.
Derek and Deniro supported our group brilliantly and made sure our campsite was set up before our arrival every day.
If you are thinking of going on this trip, I would advise:
– read itinerary in detail as it will help outline your expectations re food, distance to travel and accommodation
– prepare for some tough travel and properly wild camping. When wild camping, we had animals around and through the camp every night after we had gone to bed. We had 4 nights in a row with no running water, wi fi or electricity. Toilets when wild camping are long drop bush toilets. You will need to take power packs and battery back ups.
– the roads in the national parks and remote areas are not surfaced and progress is slow and can be uncomfortable
– only two nights are spent in lodges and this was a lower quality lodge in Zimbabwe. This is a camping trip.
Having said that if you love animals and the outdoor life, this is a holiday I would recommend highly.
Most Inspirational Moment
Spending 2 hours watching 2 cheetahs stalk and successfully hunt an impala. Watching them both take off at full speed was breath taking.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Kenny is an excellent tour leader. He looked after our daily holiday needs (food, accommodation etc) with maximum efficiency and minimum fuss. His guiding was first rate and he found the animals we wanted to see and others we had not heard of.
Advice for Potential Travellers
If you like going to remote beautiful places to see wildlife and can put up or enjoy wild camping, this is a holiday for you.
Please remember that you will not be near a shop for most of trip and conditions in bush are harsh. Therefore make sure you have right kit for trip ( robust head torch, spare batteries, first aid kit, decent walking shoes etc)

'Hiking in Norway', not 'Walking the Fjords'
A great week of hiking in a beautiful location with good accommodation and lovely food – and with great guides. This is a full program with little ‘down time’.
Most Inspirational Moment
The iconic views from the Molden peak with its stunning views of Sognefjord.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Asbjorn is an an exceptional guide and also a very nice man with so much knowledge and experience. Sadly he is looking to retire which will be a shame to miss all of those stories, but he is currently training his replacement Lucas, who I think will make also make a great host/guide. We found them both very helpful & approachable as well as being very knowledgeable of their environment and locality. An real asset to this trip.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Do not under-estimate this trip. This is a hiking trip, not walking. Many of the hikes are quite a bit longer than the notes imply and you will be expected to scramble a little as well as doing a lot of walking on very uneven ground. This is all fine if you're used to this & expecting it, but be warned.

Fabulous scenery and cities
A great holiday, with a good mixture of costal & mountain scenery and the vibrant cities of Sarajevo & Kotor. Food exceeded all my expectations, particularly at the two lunches included at a farm in Montenegro & the village in Bosnia. Our guide Alen was excellent, providing amazing insight to the cultures and history we saw along the way. To quote a t-shirt, no-one boring ever said let’s go to Bosnia!, highly recommend to those with a spirit of adventure.
Most Inspirational Moment
Sarajevo, a city I knew for all the wrong reasons in the 1990’s is now a vibrant city with a lovely old town full with a great cafe culture where you could easily spend an afternoon people watching. At the same time it also has a lot of excellent museums and galleries, some very sobering, but all very well presented and worth visiting.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Alen was excellent, he imparted a lot of knowledge of the cultures & places we visited. He also showed we were in safe hands as he dealt in a calm & professional manner when when of our group had an accident while walking.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Unless you have a great desire to go to a crowded place with bars with blaring music & full of kids, suggest you stay the second night in the beautiful scenic Kotor bay rather than Budva!

Beautiful Botswana and Zimbabwe Lodges
A truly awesome holiday! I can’t stop telling people about it! We saw so many animals in the wild with memorable sights, noises and smells. We were the ‘lucky lion group’ witnessing lions feasting on a putrid smelling kill in Chobe in the morning and then seeing a prowling lioness on the banks of the river in the evening. Then while camping in the Okavango Delta, on our sunset walk return to camp, we came across 5 lions within 400 meters of our campsite! We also heard them roar later that night while we were sitting around the campfire and taking photos of the Milky Way…sweet dreams!
Most Inspirational Moment
In Hwange Park on the sunset safari, a herd of elephants of all ages crossed in front of us on their way to a waterhole. The closer they got to the water, the faster they ran and they put on a spectacular water show for us. They drank and splashed in the water and showered water in the air, they then rolled in the mud and the babies seemed to show such joy at rolling and splashing around. Next they threw dust over themselves which looked like they were finishing off their bathing session with powder. It really made me smile. Then at the next watering hole, the hippos finally showed themselves and opened their massive mouths - truly awesome.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Rowan was good fun, a great cook with limited facilities and amazing at spotting birds and animals.
Advice for Potential Travellers
The camping in the Okavango Delta is basic. I'm not a natural camper but just embrace it because the proximity to animals, the noises, the visibility of the Milky Way is awesome. I never thought I would use the bush shower but I did and I enjoyed it, so be open minded! Take a sleeping bag liner with you, wet wipes, torches and as little else as possible because you will probably just end up wearing the same clothes for the 3 days/2 nights you are there as everything gets covered in dust. Take something to do (e.g. book, puzzle book, magazine) during the heat of the day during siesta time as it is too hot to go out then and you couldn't wander off by yourself.

Menton
This was another delightful walking trip with a good group. The leader Jessica was born locally and is passionate about the history of her region, so that we now know all about the mountain paths along which the donkeys carried the salt over to Italy. Hotel Mediterranee is very comfortable, and close enough to the sea that we were able to have some lovely evening meals in a variety of French and Italian restaurants. on the front.
Most Inspirational Moment
The exotic gardens at Eze, and the views over the coast.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Extremely friendly and well organised - goodness knows what she put in her huge back-pack each day.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Not really - the Trip Notes are very accurate and say it all.
