PRAGUE TO BUDAPEST RIDE

An amazing trip that I would highly recommend and that would suit most individuals as you do not have to be a experienced cyclist.  Apart from a few hills at the beginning of the trip the ride is fairly easy.  We had the most fantastic guide and the accomodation was overall of a very high standard.

Most Inspirational Moment

The opportunity to see four cities and take in the sights, Vienna and Budapest are spectacular.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Fab.  She really knows her stuff was friendly and approachable.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Yes.  Some days are long but the cycling is easy so do not be put off by the distances.

WALKING THE PICOS DE EUROPA

One of the best holidays I have ever been on….go do it now!

Most Inspirational Moment

I went on the Challenging itinerary and the views from the summits we reached were incredible. The walking was varied and well suited to everybody in the group and I loved every minute of it!

Thoughts on Group Leader

Alvaro was one of the very best guides I have been on a trip with. Highly competent, great with people and always ready with a joke or two. Fantastic organiser and a top man.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Do the challenging itinerary.....you won't regret it!

CLASSIC KENYA SAFARI

This was one of the exceptional experiences of my life, a truly once in a life time trip. The beauty of Lake Nakuru with it's white Rhino and abundant wild life. The vastness of the Masai Mara with its teeming herds of Wilderbeast, Antelope and Zebra.  The groups of Elephant, Giraffes, Hippos, Hyenas, Wart Hogs and Baboons. It is all just magical!

Most Inspirational Moment

Seeing a Leopard in a tree with it's kill then carefully carrying it to the ground.Watching a Jackal creep up to a group of Lions on a kill then sneak in to get his share.Being with a great group of like minded people.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Davis and Peter are two of the nicest people that you could meet.First of all their professionalism and knowledge is second to none. Their ability to find game, their care and consideration, their genuine friendliness and great sense of humour made the trip the great success it was. I certainly hope that I will have the oppertunity to meet them again. They really did make us feel like a family.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Make sure that this is what you really want. Peter remarked one evening that some groups are hard to work with and that they get impatient (unbelievable!) This is not a Zoo with all the animals lined up waiting to be viewed. The magic is not knowing where or when you will see game and sometimes it appears in an unexpected way. As one of the group said "every game drive just gets better and better"

WALKING IN TUSCANY

This holiday surpassed my expectations in terms of quality and value for money. I believe I was lucky to be partof a wonderful group of people who got on so well together and even luckier that we had the group leader (Sara Bull) we did for the week I booked.

Most Inspirational Moment

There were several moments where I thought a particular part of a walk were too extreem for my ability but I quickly learnt that Sara had the measure of us all and only suggested the walks she knew we could manage. Therefore, I felt thrilled to have climbed some scary ridges and difficult tracks rather than just walking 'safe' stuff.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Professional and generous. From the outset we knew we were in safe hands. Sara, our guide for the week, created an atmosphere of fun and confidence in everyone, hitting the right balance of hard work whilst not fogetting that we were on holiday too.Her knowledge, love of Tuscany and deep fondness of Bracciocoti and the family running it overspilled and touched us all which added to our wonderful experience. Sara is probably one of the most generous people I have ever met - and not just because she fed us sweeties and biscuits every few hours!!! I mean generous in her giving of everything she could to ensure every person on her trip got the most they could from it. She would be genuinely dissappointed if she thought anyone went home not having the opportunity to have the holiday they dreamt of.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Read all you can and ask for any advice you can while deciding which Exodus holiday is right for you. By taking time to plan at the beginning you increase your chance of picking the right holiday for you.

CLASSIC DOLOMITES

Beautiful place,  more Austrian/German than you expect of an Italian countryside.  Hotel was excellent, very friendly.  Would recommend both the hotel and countryside.

Most Inspirational Moment

Trenches on top of Mount Piano. What it be like for the soldiers stationed there.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Friendly, was an excellent leader, especially for a large group on difficult treks.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Expect good walks, good food and good company.  Compared with the rest of Italy not that expensive.

WALKING IN TUSCANY

A great holiday, if you’re looking for challenging walks amidst stunning scenery, in a forgotten part of Italy. And you’re rewarded at the end of everyday by a dip in the pool with views of the Alpi Apuane and home-cooked food, specially prepared by a genuine Italian "Mama".

Most Inspirational Moment

Undoubtedly getting to the top of Tuscany's highest mountain, the Monte Prado, in the Apennines on the last day. At 2054 metres, this was the highest mountain I'd ever climbed and, despite the aching legs and knees, the sense of achievement and breathtaking views, ensured it was truly magical.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Liz was the most efficient group leader we've ever had. Her attention to detail, particularly regarding our collective health and safety, was excellent. She was incredibly fit herself but did not let this in anyway intimidate those of us who weren't quite up to her Triathlon standards! And she gave us absolutely the right advice in recommending we use our hiking boots rather than our walking trainers - the footpaths are slippy at times.

Advice for Potential Travellers

You do need a reasonable level of fitness for this trip. Walking poles are really useful, particularly when it comes to descents and not putting too much strain on those knees and leg muscles. Although excellent lunches were provided, I wished I'd taken some cereal bars or trailmix, to give me some extra energy at critical moments and I would definitely have bought one of those portable water bladders so that I could sip continuously - it was very hot!

ESSENTIAL PERU

A tiring but absolutely amazing trip. Best way to see a lot of the amazing sights and scenes Peru has to offer.

Most Inspirational Moment

Walking up to the entrance to Macchu Picchu and looking down on the old city. Also seeing the condors was amazing, almost able to touch them they were flying so close, our guide Marcial definately knew the right place to stand.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Marcial was a pleasure, he was very knowledgeable and knew all the best angles and times to view all the amazing things from. He always got us to the towns and cities on time so we didn't miss a thing, and even when things didn't entirely go to plan he was always quick with a backup.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Just be aware of the altitude, it is the main thing that affected members of the group. The coca tea did seem to help most people though.

MONT BLANC HIGHLIGHTS

We were fortunate with great weather and a great group of fellow walkers. Accommodation was outstanding – we thought we had the best room in the chalet with fantastic views of Mont Blanc . The walk was well paced to our group. We had a fabulous holiday.

Most Inspirational Moment

Arriving at the beautiful Lac Blanc after a 950 metre ascent. The days walk in Italy was so varied and beautiful and included the best hot chocolate and best ice cream ever.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Simon gave excellent briefing the night before each walk and clear directions on the day. He tailored made the walks to suit the group which was much appreciated. We enjoyed his sense of humour and felt very safe with him as our leader.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Be as fit as you can be so that you can enjoy the walk. Go for it.

MT TOUBKAL CLIMB

A great introduction to the High Atlas Mountains and Marrakech, including climbing Mount Toubkal and the option to bag another peak over 4000m.

Most Inspirational Moment

Not one particular moment, but the comradery of 16 trekkers who largely didn't know each other at the start of the week. Over the week the conversation and banter, particularly around meal times, was fantastic. For a group varying in walking experience and aging from 20s to late 60s everyone got on so well. The encouragement from everyone during the trek was great and despite different walking speeds we ensured we summitted as one group. What better way to meet new friends.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Hassan had his hands full as the group varried in walking speeds and ability. However he always led from the front and each morning set off at a cracking pace - though we soon settled into a manageable pace with a donkey and his helper bringing up the rear. Ideally at least one other qualified guide would have been useful, especially on the Mt Toubkal day when one of our party twisted his ankle. An accompanying porter had already helped down one of our party and so with just Hassan to lead, we all had to descend very slowly. The optional walks were good and run to time - but there did seem to be an expectation by Hassan that these were for the faster and fitter walkers. Hassan's English was very good and he was always helpful but it would have been nice if he volunteered more information on Morroco, the culture and the mountains rather than having to be asked.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Good footwear is essential as the paths, especially up and down Mt Toubkal, can be quite rough. Poles would also be useful for those not particular steady on their feet.

CLASSIC KENYA SAFARI

an unforgettable experience; the migration was a once in a lifetime thrill and I wouldn't have missed it for anyjthing and, as always the company was exceptional.    kind, thoughtful co-travellers who made it even better.  the organisation was good and delivered everything it promised.

Most Inspirational Moment

the smiles of the local people, everyone seemed pleased to see us and help us.   I was particularly grateful for the Masaii men with their torches in our tent camp.....I am sure I would have lost my way otherwise....and the sound of the animals at night (plus monkeys playing football on my tent roof) won't be forgotten for a long time.

Thoughts on Group Leader

b oth of them very good.  their driving was exceptional (and tiring I am sure)  and I still can't see how they spotted some of the animals so quickly whilst driving!!!!

Advice for Potential Travellers

just go with the flow. be prepared to be thrown about on the unmade roads, take a good camera and binoculrs (mine were rubbish)...don't bother packing dressing up clothes.....you will be too tired at night to even change......just a good meal, a drink and then bed to end a perfect day.
