This was a tough but thoroughly enjoyable trip in a very beautiful part of the world. The challenging grade is about right; be prepared for a lot of rocky steep ascent and descent including a fair amount of scrambling and using fixed cables/chains. Some parts (particularly the ascent to La Om on Day 4 and the ridge along the top) are pretty exposed. There is a good mix of tougher and somewhat easier days to break things up with some nice forest and meadow sections. The reward is some amazing scenery in a relatively unspoilt part of the world. The whole trip was very well organised and accommodation at Villa Hermani was very clean and comfortable, with friendly hosts and great food. The mountain huts were a good experience but be prepared for very basic toilet and sanitary facilities.

Galapagos Islands Holidays
Darwin found inspiration for his groundbreaking book ‘The Origin of Species’ in the Galapagos Islands. On this isolated tropical archipelago, almost 1000km off mainland Ecuador, he discovered wildlife present nowhere else on Earth; today, Galapagos Islands tours will still astonish nature and wildlife lovers. The volcanic islands are considered to be a living laboratory by scientists and represent one of the most pristine yet fragile areas in the world. This enchanting environment is characterised by stark lava fields, cactus forests, volcanic craters, mangrove lagoons and turquoise waters.
Without a doubt, the highlight of Galapagos Islands holidays is the incredible wildlife. With very few external predators and limited human interference, the species that inhabit the Galapagos have always shown a near-fearless attitude to man. Close encounters are assured and we may find ourselves stepping over snoozing Sea lions and iguanas or watching up close the courting rituals of Blue-footed boobies, albatross or frigatebirds. A mask and snorkel will reveal an exciting underworld – turtles, sharks, rays and colourful reef fish are abundant and Sea lions love to come and play!

Kerry Reardon Cycle Cilento & the Amalfi CoastAn unforgettable trip from the quiet, laid back Cilento to the vibrant Amalfi Coast
Melissa Hammond Walks of the Cinque Terre and PortofinoThe Cinque Terre and Portofino are famous places so you have to accept they are busy but this trip still gives you lots of time out of the towns walking through the forests and mountain paths. There are a lot of Steps but the views are worth it. I think its a perfect level 3 it pushes you at times (especially in the hot summer) but there is a nice balance of easier sections where you can just soak in the views and take lots of photos!
The Hotel in Moneglia is a great location right across from the Beach, you can get up early for a swim!
The Hotel also has a Jacuzzi and a Wellness Swimming pool – the spa jets are a great way to ease the muscles!
The Resturants in the area are of a really good standard and the guides are great at recommendations!
