A very friendly and pleasant hotel in lovely countryside, although we didn’t see so much of thatt as we would have liked due to low clouds and almost continuous torrential rain (as much a surprise to the natives as to us Brits!). What was impressive was that despite the real challenges produced by the weather our guide Albert re-shuffled the logistics endlessly so we did actually get some decent walks done, did some excellent sightseeing, and had a lot of fun.

Well organised, great company, stunning views, lovely hotel and delicious food.
Walking around Pompeii and then up Vesuvius.Ravello and the Villa Cimbrone.
Albert is an excellent leader. Very organised, calm, knowledgable and encouraging. Thanks to his contacts we were treated to warm welcomes and great hospitality everywhere we stopped.
Climbing poles would be useful as there are an awful lot of steps and some uneven paths.
A brilliant mix of walking and culture. The walks were exciting but relatively easy with lots of interest and fantastic scenery to see. We had a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide to show us around both Pompei and Herculaneum. We climbed to the summit of Vesuvius and looked into the crater.
From a cultural point of view visiting Herculaneum was fantastically interesting for me. The "Walk of the Gods" down to Positano and swimming at the bottom was also thrilling.
Our group was lucky in that we had a truly exellent leader. I have been on many trips and he was one of the best I have encountered
Read up about Pompei and Herculaneum and Vesuvius beforehand (Wikipedia is a good start).
A very enjoyable week despite the unseasonal and prolonged pluvial extravaganza (it rained alot for late April!). Very good hotel with excellent and plentiful meals. Great scenery (when the clouds lifted) and some iconic sites visited: Pompei, Ercolano & Vesuvio. Splendid bunch of positive uncomplaining fellow companions.
When it became clear we were having a great time regardless of the weather.
Albert is a superb group leader. He optimised our available options.
I recommend walking boots and packing some waterproofs.
An amazing trip from start to finish! If you want to experience true Italian hospitality, traditional home-cooked food, and breathtaking coastal views then this is your trip. The Hotel Le Due Torri, nestled in the village of Bomerano, is a lovely family owned hotel where you will want for nothing. Three family generations live here, all with beaming smiles, and really go out of their way to make you feel at home. A highlight of the trip for me, was the wonderful home-cooked Italian fare. On a couple of nights we all got involved in the cooking of pasta, tiramasu, and made pizza in their wood-burning oven, which was great fun.
...where to start........from the picturesque villages, to the dramatic coastline, to exploring the ruins of Pompeii, to standing on the rim of Mount Vesuvius itself, to great food and hospitality!Every walk was different, and just when we thought the highlight of the trip had passed, the following day brought another! The terraced villages clinging precariously to the staggering limestone karsts along the coast was a sight in itself, but inland, the Valle delle Ferriere was an unexpected treat.
Our leader was absolutely brilliant; extremely knowledgeable, patient and good humoured. We couldn't have asked for a better leader.
First group holiday. Lovely bunch of people made all the difference and an excellent Guide in Francesco.
The Walk of the Gods and being on the edge of the crater of vesuvius.
Francesco was a charming , informative and entertaining host. We loooooved him!!!
In case of luggage delay take at least your boots, waterproof jacket, socks and clean undies in your HAND luggage. This will at least enable you to enjoy the first 72hrs of your holiday!! (not that it stopped us having a great time!!) Gatwick failure (electric) not Exodus fault.
Amazing scenery. Unforgetable walk round the rim of Vesuvius. Visit to Pompei. Lovely hotel with cookery demonstrations in the evening.
Pompei.
Our leader got the balance just right between organizing everything so we didn't have to, but not nannying us too much.
Don't miss the Cimberola gardens in Ravello on your rest day.
Stunning scenery, fresh tasty local food and wonderful hosts in our friendly and relaxed hotel. It was my first walking holiday and certainly won’t be my last.
Seeing the waterfall on the walk through Valle delle Ferriere. A stunning moment that reached all the senses; lingering in silence, watching the water cascade over the mossy stone capturing the sunlight, it was one of the most beautiful natural sights that I have ever seen. A personal highlight was starting the week like Bambi unable to find my 'walking feet' and ending the week striding along confidently; no hill too high or slope too steep.
Ale was really encouraging; he got to know each member of the group and understand their personal strengths and limitations and was able therefore to support each person according to their need.
It is challenging in places, that's the moderate bit. But you can go at your own pace and that's the leisurely bit. I was relatively inexperienced but I was able to pace myself and my confidence grew throughout the week. Go for it!
It was a joy to let others organise everything – and you did it so well! The accommodation and food was extremely good with a great mix of ages and personanlities in the group.
After a very short drive we began our walk uphill towards Amalfi and the sun shone!. The scenery was just so interesting: panoramic views of the coast and sea and then down to the gorge in the national park which was stunning and very atmospheric. Finally, to be taken back in time as we passed the old paper mills close to the entrance to the quaint town of Amalfi.
Alexandro was constantly bright, welcoming and interesting!
We so many steps it is sensible to take knee supports and walking poles.
I never thought I’d enjoy a group, organised holiday but I did. As others have said, the great thing about an Exodus holiday is that you don’t have to think about it until you arrive. Everything’s organised and everything’s good. Looking back, it was actually tremendous value for money too.
Waterfalls, clifftop paths and amazing views - oh and a walk round the rim of Vesuvius - all made this trip memorable. Better was not having those inevitablre arguments when the path forks - a guide means you take the right path every time!
Ale was enthusiastic, knowledgable and there when you needed him. Perfect I'd say!
You'll be surprised by how like you the others on the trip will be. Don't worry about it; just do it!
