Fantastic trip, amazing views and really good food. Nice to have the luxury mixed in with the work. Oliver and Elaine make it home from home, really good hosts and bent over backwards to make sure we got to do all the things we wanted on our ‘day off’

Couldnt fault Oliver. Patient, knowledgable, good fun, really made the trip
A really great wildlife adventure. Rain Forests, beaches, volcanos, hikes, swims, adventures and plenty of birds!
There was more than one moment. The green turtle nesting and returning to the sea with the moon rising above the Caribbean sea with thunder and lighting in the distance. The humpback whale breaching in the Dulce Gulf again and again. The sea crashing through the trees where the rainforest touched the ocean. The lighting storm over the cloud forest whilst looking to the pacific ocean. The iguana falling out the tree by the bar in Tortuguero.Scarlet Macaws flying over the mangroves.Being woken up by Howler Monkeys.Need I say more?
Berny was fantastic. Warm friendly and knowledgable. He went above and beyond with many more activities than the trip notes described. In particular his early morning bird walks were a highlight for me.Without him the trip would not have been the success is was and I will always remember and be grateful to him for making my journey through Costa Rica memorable.
Go. Don't wait. Go.Be prepared for high humidity and take walking shoes with you - you will need them.Biting insects are everywhere - if you are prepared with long trousers and cover youself you will survive! Even though I did get some bites they did not detract from my wonderful trip.
What a wonderful experience! Excellent group members and excellent guides who made the whole trip an unforgettable experience.
Whilst plodding up to Stella Point in the dark and cold, feeling more than a little weary, the guides broke into song which raised the spirits enormously. Who would have thought that a cup of warm water could be such a welcome drink when we finally reached Stella Point? After a few minutes to regain our energy, the final hour to Uhuru seemed endless in the rarified air, but we finally made it! A moment of sheer exhilaration.
Samuel was undoubtedly the most experienced guide on the mountain. He dealt with everything in a calm and dignified manner and seemed to be respected by all other guides and porters. He was a fantastic group leader and we all felt very safe in his capable hands. His genuine concern for our welfare was second to none.
We were all rather surprised to have our Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate scrutinised on entry to Tanzania. It seems this is essential if arriving via Addis Ababa. On arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport we were advised by the local rep to change some dollars into shillings - this is not at all necessary and indeed proved difficult to spend as everywhere is set up to take dollars.
I learned, loved and laughed – it was an adventure with so much to awaken the senses – brilliant trip and highly recommended
You know that you have so much visiting these countries and it humbled me into realising this and that I should not get worried about the little things. The people in these countries have little but seem the happiest I have ever met.
Nee was the best tour leader I have known in 7 years of cycle trips.
Let them do everything and enjoy every moment.
This trek was through the most jaw dropping scenery! It was hard to take in the magnitude of the mountains, I felt privalaged to be able to do it.The trek itself was not too difficult but it was made tougher by the altitude and the heat at the start of the trek. The leader was superb as were all the staff, nothing was too much trouble and Ngima is possibly the most patient man on the planet! Amazing food on the trek including three birthday cakes baked at altitude.
Probably when we climbed up the first pass, I was feeling the altitude but the view when I finally made it was awesome. Everyone on our trek was very supportive of each other.
What more can I say, a true professional and a real 'people' person. I felt very safe with him.
This is not a walk in the park, you definitely need a good level of fitness and expect some long days trekking. Also you can't know how you will cope at altitude but we all made it in our own time coaxed along by our leader.
A wonderfully well-crafted week’s walking in an exceptionally beautiful and inspiring area.
That cold beer after the long descent from the Lac Blanc; the leisurely picnic lunch on the Aiguillette de Brevent on the last walk with the opportunity to savour the stupendous view of Mont Blanc close up and the views over to earlier walks; the pink of the setting sun on the snow on Mont Blanc from the Chalet window.
Oliver is endlessly patient and good-humoured. Our group was of varying abilities and experience but he brought out the best in everyone. He manages the tasks of shepherd and host in a very relaxed way. And he really knows and loves the area.
Make sure you have a good level of fitness to enjoy the ascents. On a couple of days there are both long ascents and descents. If you are a very fast, fit walker you may need to accept that others are not and that you have to accept the necessary discipline of walking as a group.
Unbelievable views and walking through a spectacularly beautiful country. Go for it!
Getting to meet new and interesting people and the summit.
Our leader Abdullah was knowledgeable, very personable and extremely trustworthy. Three traits I found to be invaluable and comforting given how much you depend on them during the more remote sections of the trip.
Only 1, get change in the form of coins and small notes. Nobody outside of Marrakech will take 100Dh or 200Dh notes as they can't change it. Even our Hotel didn't want them when trying to buy water. Also take a Platipus/Camelbak type hydration system as there are sections of long decent which both hands free for 3 - 4 hours and dehydration in the Atlas environment is too easy.
This was a fantastic holiday which exceeded my expectations. It included a variety of activities as well as relaxation time.
There were many inspirational moments during the trip. I especially enjoyed the white water rafting, the inpromptu games of cricket, the cycling and the visit to the elephant orphanage!
Roshan was a fantastic tour leader. He was professional, organised, knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour!!!
Consider taking probiotic tablets to help keep a settled stomach. Your camera, or other electrical equipment, will not continue to charge if the fob is removed from the wall power unit in the hotel rooms!
A well planned, interesting and enjoyable adventure.
A great group of people - age ranged from 16 to 61 - our Guide Disnarda encouraged a team atmosphere to make a great holiday wonderful.Getting up Dead Woman's Pass! Up to 4215m, Disnarda paced us so we all got up there together - a real moment of achievement for us all. The third day of the trek is the most scenic - fantastic views.Sleeping above the clouds and watching the sun rise over the mountains has to my moment where I really thought WOW!!!Maccu Picchu is amazing and walk there puts it into perspective.
Disnarda Aragon - she is amazing. She is thoughful, humorous, kind and regularly reminds you to wash your hands so you stay healthy! She is very knowledgeable about the history, geography, flora and fauna. She is very well organised and is excellent at making sure everyone's needs are met (usually before you have even thought you might want something). She made us all feel very welcome, cared for and safe.I was really impressed with her skills and humanity.
Choose Exodus. This is the first trip I have done with them and I was really impressed. The details are amazing - getting woken up with a cup of tea and a bowl of hot water to wash in when you are above the clouds; great food, prepared on a gas ring - made me feel very inadequate but then cooking has never been my thing! Take lots of layers - it is hot during the day (dry season) but can get down to -3 at night. I slept in 5 layers and a sleeping bag! Drink a lot of water - Disnarda reminds you of this all the time - and just pace yourself. The walk is tough in places but if you take it slowly and rest regularly (to enjoy the view) it is achieveable by anyone with a reasonable level of fitness. The downhill bits can be hard on your knees. Poles are useful if you are used to them. Take a second camera - I took sooooooo many photos my battery ran out on day 3 of the Trail, luckily I had a spare one with normal batteries.
This was a very challenging walk which at the conclusion prooved to be very rewarding. The torrain is rugged and combined with high temperatures makes it a lot tougher than the grade in the magazine emplies.
The reward is when you get your first view of the Matterhorn as you come around the Europaweg. You know that you have arrived at your destination and all has been worthwhile.
A very experienced guide who has been there, done it and got the T shirt.
Make sure that you have plenty of spending money. Switzerland is not cheap and there are a lot of other expenses that you would not exspect.
