It’s now two weeks since I returned from Portugal and I wish I was back walking the wild Algarve. The unspoiled coastline was spectacular with few tourists, just surfers riding the huge waves.
Also what was so noticeable was the fact that there were no litter bins but also no litter anywhere – the environment is truly respected.

Galapagos Islands Holidays
Darwin found inspiration for his groundbreaking book ‘The Origin of Species’ in the Galapagos Islands. On this isolated tropical archipelago, almost 1000km off mainland Ecuador, he discovered wildlife present nowhere else on Earth; today, Galapagos Islands tours will still astonish nature and wildlife lovers. The volcanic islands are considered to be a living laboratory by scientists and represent one of the most pristine yet fragile areas in the world. This enchanting environment is characterised by stark lava fields, cactus forests, volcanic craters, mangrove lagoons and turquoise waters.
Without a doubt, the highlight of Galapagos Islands holidays is the incredible wildlife. With very few external predators and limited human interference, the species that inhabit the Galapagos have always shown a near-fearless attitude to man. Close encounters are assured and we may find ourselves stepping over snoozing Sea lions and iguanas or watching up close the courting rituals of Blue-footed boobies, albatross or frigatebirds. A mask and snorkel will reveal an exciting underworld – turtles, sharks, rays and colourful reef fish are abundant and Sea lions love to come and play!

Eric McQuarrie Walking in AndorraAndorra is a beautiful country and the Exodus trip perfectly captures the essence of it via the organised walking trips. It is a mountainous area, as such, be prepared for walking at higher altitudes and a reasonable amount of uphill sections, as such, a good personal physical condition is recommended. You will be rewarded with spectacular scenery and panoramic views of the area. Alfonso is an excellent tour guide, very knowledgeable of the area and attentive to the needs of the group with impeccable organisation to ensure everyone gets the maximum enjoyment from the trip. If you are looking for something out of the ordinary then I would highly recommend this trip.
Julie Dent Machu Picchu & GalapagosWhat an adventure!
This holiday combines two iconic destinations into one trip. It’s a busy, fast-paced itinerary, full of stimulation and excitement so be prepared!
In Peru, as well as enjoying Cusco, you’ll visit incredible ruins nearby and in the Sacred Valley and learn so much about the Incas and how they conquered, and then retained control of, vast swathes of South America. Holger’s in-depth knowledge of all things Inca helped us to piece together this information into a coherent whole so that we had a real insight into the civilisation. You’ll also have the opportunity (for no additional cost) to complete the One Day Inca Trail. Machu Picchu does not disappoint and, as well as being technologically fascinating, is absolutely stunning.
In the Galapagos, you’ll island hop your way to San Cristobal, Floreana, Isabela, Santa Cruz, Isla Lobos, Bartolome and Las Tintoreras, seeing every kind of wildlife imaginable. The animals really are everywhere, in large numbers and just don’t mind you being nearby. It’s a hiking, snorkelling and photographic extravaganza (and Richard will share all his videos and photos)!
