Annapurna Trips

The Annapurna range offers a very different hiking trip to the Everest region. The former is home to the Annapurna Sanctuary – a natural amphitheatre ringed by mountain giants – and the view from Poon Hill. The latter has Everest Base Camp, the Sherpa heartland and the hilltop monastery at Thyangboche. The Everest region is perhaps more stark and rugged, as most of the trekking there is above the tree line. That said, the Annapurnas are probably the most accessible 8,000m range in the world, and contain some of the most spectacular treks on the planet, including the famed Annapurna Circuit.

The foothills are just a short drive from the lake town of Pokhara, and Annapurna tours in these lowlands are suited to most walkers. What you cannot escape in either place is the fabulous warm hospitality of the Nepali people and the superb support of our experienced staff on the trek.

The most stunning trek you can imagine. The Himalaya’s really are great cathedrals of nature. Walk alongside 3 of the top 10 peaks in the world, with an itinerary set up to ensure you succeed at altitude and make it over the amazing Thorong La Pass at 5,416m. Most competitors do the trek in 2 weeks, missing large sections or not acclimatising properly – the 22 day version means you complete (just about) everything.

An incredible trek during a less crowded time. Drier and cooler at this time of the year though (crossing the pass we started at -5F).

Jim Studer Annapurna Circuit Trek

The trek far exceeded expectations and a few days rest and relaxation at the end was the icing on the cake. The variety of scenery enroute, the great team of guides and porters and the camaraderie between the group made for an all round wonderful experience . The standard of food and accommodation tho basic was surprisingly good and the pace of trekking and breaks was spot on for everyone . We were extremely well led and looked after and learned so much about this wonderful land and its people.
