Mt. Blanc Highlights

We had an excellent week. Staying a Chalet Chocolat, our hosts Zohi and Ben took good care of us. The food was home cooked and superb and they were very friendly and accommodating. Our hikes were varied and our trip guide Sally set a good pace and was knowledgeable about the area.the

Most Inspirational Moment

The vistas.

Excellent

Vietnam Adventure - you really need to take this trip!

The Vietnam Adventure trip was absolutely fantastic and is certainly how to sample the variety Vietnam has to offer in a short space of time. Every day was different and I learnt so much about the country from Lam our tour guide for whom nothing was too much trouble. Lam went ‘above and beyond’ to meet the needs of everyone in the group. The trip was well-paced with enough downtime to relax, go shopping and enjoy an additional bicycle ride with a local guide. My personal highlights were visiting Ha Long Bay, the Imperial City in Hue, My Son and cycling by the rice fields. Perhaps the decor in one or two of the hotels is in need of updating but the rooms were clean and the hotel staff were very happy to help. Sadly our outgoing flight was cancelled after we had checked -in but the team at Exodus were ‘on the case’ straightaway and re-booked us onto the first available flight the next day.

Most Inspirational Moment

Cruising in Ha Long Bay past the Karst scenery and enjoying my evening meal on board the boat. It had been a longtime wish of mine to visit this world heritage site.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Lam was a great leader who went out of his way to meet the needs of all members of the group. He arranged an extra bike ride for me and my husband with a local guide which we thoroughly enjoyed. He is knowledgeable and very keen to share his country's history.

Unspoilt Mountains

A wonderful trek in an unexploited part of the world

Most Inspirational Moment

Being surrounded by a crown of limestone peaks.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Good knowledge of history but not of flora or fauna.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Be prepared for trekking through areas with no tracks or trails.

Excellent Trip!

One of the best trekking holidays with Exodus since I did the Haute Route 18 years ago. A good variety of hiking in amazing scenery including getting into some remote and barren areas. And led by two great leaders, Albert and Martin.

Most Inspirational Moment

Every day!

Good music trip

This is a great trip if you’re keen to experience the USA Deep South Music and history. Great experience of New Orleans, Martin Luther King and the civil rights movements, Elvis and the music history of Memphis and Nashville. The trip is with Grand American Adventures- Exodus sister Company. You travel in a small tour bus driven by your guide. We were lucky we had 9 people on the trip as any more would have been a squeeze. A few early starts and longest drives on the road were 5-6 hours but had plenty of rest stop breaks. There’s a lot to see and do plus the music & dvds on the van helped get us in the mood and educate us to each area.

Most Inspirational Moment

New Orleans is great and the included steamboat dinner on the Mississippi was fantastic. Would also highly recommend the Honey Island swamp tour, we saw much more wildlife than just alligators. Elvis Birthplace & Graceland also amazing.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Our group leader Nicole was fantastic, she went above and beyond and was really helpful. There were a few timing issues which meant a couple of important sights were rushed. Sadly her boyfriend turned up for the last 4 days which turned the trip a little sour and spoilt the group dynamic.

Advice for Potential Travellers

It’s a great trip but do your research. If you’re not into the music scene then this trip might not be for you. Food is great and atms are everywhere.

Discover Sri Lanka review

An excellent holiday with so much to see and do.

Most Inspirational Moment

There were many inspitational moments but if I had to select one it would be seeing the procession in Kandy. Excellently arranged by our guide even to sorting our evening meaL. The fire dancers and highly decorated elephants were a sight to behold. The drommers and dancers added to the occasion.I will never forget it.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Roshan was superb. He was highly skilled in getting the group to see as much as possible of his country. He was also quite relaxed letting us have enough time to see the sights e.g. around the temples and the statues of the Buddha. His instructions were always clear and explanatory. But most of all he was fun! An absolute brilliant guide.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Take clothes to cover up but only needed for temples. But dress respectfully at other times.

Do this trip soon! Romania is fantastic!

This is our 6th cycling trip with Exodus and it is one of the best. The route was wonderful with views of the Carpathians, fields of corn and potatoes and horses pulling carts. We are experienced cyclists and the 3/10 level lets one burn some calories but still leave time to visit monasteries, water-driven flour mills and fortified churches. It was good to know in advance that we might have to share a bathroom (4 times, but it worked out) and that the food is rustic home cooking (great cheese, cured meats, mashed potatoes, lots of tomatoes and cucumbers). Our leader, Tudor, was excellent. Remember to save time to do a free walking tour in Bucharest on the last day. Travel guides say that tourism in Romania is “budding”–do this trip now before the country changes!

Most Inspirational Moment

Witnessing the beautiful rural life with an abundance of local crops. Learning the influence of Mongols and Turks, and the Silk Road from China, as this country is so far East. Riding alone on a country road with the yellow flowers all around.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Tudor did an excellent job. He let us bike at our own pace which is very important. He had incredible knowledge and love of the area. Also, he put together a WhatsApp group for us (by individual consent) at the beginning. We could share pictures and get more pictures of ourselves. Why hasn't anyone thought of that before? Our driver, Livio was calm and capable. He would provide snacks such as chocolate from his Communist childhood and tell us the story. Or candy bars with the name of the nearby Fagaras Mountains.

Gorgeous Seasides & Mountains - HOT August temps

Really enjoyable itinerary and the trip leader, Mario, was fun and entertaining and did a wonderful job. The overall rating of “3” moderate is appropriate as a weekly average, although some walks were a “1” and perhaps one day might rate a “4” due to the size of the rocks and boulders along much of the path. The seaside views were stunning and the sea itself lovely for evening swims. Definitely take your togs and plan on swimming. August proved very hot and very crowded during the summer holidays – probably not the best month to see Croatia, and particularly not good timing for Krka N.P. as it was a national holiday and quite honestly over sold for the day. Dubrovnik was beautiful and worthy of adding an additional day on the front end if possible. Accommodations, transfers, flights (we booked our own), and meals were all very good.

Most Inspirational Moment

The coastal views of the towns and villages....... The old city walls of Dubrovnik..... Diocletian's Roman Palace in Split (we arranged our own guided tour, which was well worthwhile)

Thoughts on Group Leader

Mario did a great job. He is personable and fun-loving, and everyone enjoyed his company and camaraderie.

Advice for Potential Travellers

If possible, go outside of the peak tourist season and summary holidays. If you enjoy good food and wine, plan on spending a bit more than the recommended allowances, especially in Dubrovnik and Split - it's well worth it! Walking shoes or boots with decent soles and cushion go a long way on the rocky terrain. Carry a few spare coins for public toilets in the cities. Croatia is a beautiful country and easily traveled. If you have the time and inclination - add a few days on the front or back end to explore.

Very enjoyable cycling holiday

This trip is a great way to see Albania and experience the local way of life. The scenery is stunning.

Most Inspirational Moment

The visit to Butrin was very interesting. The scenery was stunning, particularly the views of the exemely high mountains.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Dhimo was an extremely good tour leader. He is personable and has good organizational skills. He is also very kknowledgeable on local history.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Albania is a hilly country. The more cycle training you do for the holiday, the more you'll enjoy it.
