A hidden gem
These mountains are not well known outside Spain but are well worth a visit. Verdant valleys of trees and meadows give way to dramatic and soaring limestone peaks. There are lots of walks and the views are always worth the effort. Our days were topped off with fabulous dinners created by Jim and his team at the hotel – four courses each night! The hotel was welcoming and quiet but only a few minutes’ walk from the town. There was an amazing view from the bar patio of the distant mountains which I never tired of looking at.
Most Inspirational Moment
There were several - the views from the top of whichever peak or climb we were doing plus sitting in a meadow or on rocks for lunch and loving the scenery.
Thoughts on Group Leader
He was great, friendly and informative. Nachos also took a lot of care to make sure we stopped regularly to have water and rest as the weather was hot. His philosophy of never rushing also helped to make the holiday very chilled.

Memorable trek to the legendary Savage Mountain
It takes a large team to support 14 trekkers in their ambition to walk to K2 base camp over the 58km Baltoro glacier. With no habitation and unforgiving terrain everything must be carried in by mule or on the backs of porters. This trek makes it possible for ordinary people to walk in the footsteps of the great mountaineers and experience the magnificence of K2 close up.
Most Inspirational Moment
Visiting the historic Art Gilkey memorial at the foot of K2 after a long and challenging walk in was unforgettable. So many plaques to fallen mountaineers, in a peaceful yet hostile setting. How many non climbers get to experience this special place?
Thoughts on Group Leader
We were in safe hands with Sara who led from the back in more ways than one. She invisibly managed logistics, liaised with our local team and supported us through illness to help us all achieve our best trek. Her respect for our porters and the environment was also very evident.
Advice for Potential Travellers
This is accurately described as a tough trek. Most walking days are long and the glacier terrain is difficult with potential river crossings. You might find it to be the most challenging trek you have ever done so previous similar experience will help. Keep hydrated and take it steady to help acclimatisation.

Great hikes in a beautiful part of the world
A very enjoyable week’s hiking in a truly spectacular part of the world. We had wanted to visit the Dolomites for some time and the Val di Fassa did not disappoint. The pretty towns and villages sitting in the valleys are surrounded by majestic mountains, not least the imposing Marmolada, and the backdrop is really is awe inspiring. The great advantage of this trip for us was the dual grades, enabling you to pick and choose a level 3 or level 5 walk. We chose level 3 on all but one of the days, and unlike level 3 walks we had been on in the past, they provided fantastic views of the surrounding area and a good amount of ascent to get the blood pumping. The level 5 walks tended to involve more ascent and fewer refreshment breaks, and also negotiated trickier ridges and ledges. All the walks made use of the excellent cable cars, chairlifts and gondolas throughout the valley to gain height as well the local buses. These got pretty busy since it was peak holiday season, so on a couple of occasions we made early starts to beat the crowds. Although breakfast was a rush, it was well worth it. The Hotel Enrosadira was clean and comfortable, although the rooms were quite small. The friendliness and efficiency of the staff made up for this, and the buffet breakfast and evening meals were very good indeed. The hotel was a few minutes walk to the centre of Campitello were you can find a supermarket, bars, bakeries etc. A special mention must be made for the mountain refuges, or huts. These are dotted about the mountains and both level 3 and 5 walks frequented these for refreshment and lunch stops. I was surprised at the standard of the food and facilities of these considering their remote nature. I recommend taking along some extra cash and trying out some of the local dishes, particularly the Kaiserschmarrn!
Most Inspirational Moment
Probably standing at the top of the gondola from Canazei and seeing the Passo Pordoi to one side and the Marmolada and it's glacier to the other side, and all around the peaks of mountains stretching off into the distance.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Both leaders, Albert and Martin, were friendly, well organised and good company. They both had a very good knowledge of the area, and ensured that everyone was going at a pace they were happy at and everyone was accounted for. I think it is easy to underestimate the responsibility group leaders have, and both leaders were professional but were laid back and ensured we all had a good time.
Advice for Potential Travellers
As with any trip involving rocky terrain, a good pair of stout walking boots and walking poles are essential.

Walking The Picos De Europa - INCREDIBLE!
A definitely must- see/do trip! Each day you see the most incredible and breath taking views!
Overall it is one of my favourite holidays, thanks to the wonderful tour leader we had, Nacho, and also to the Hotel staff, Jim and Pilar, for giving such a comfortable welcoming experience whilst staying in the hotel……they are extremely kind and warm-hearted people who went the extra mile always to cater for vegetarian meals and providing a comforting atmosphere.
Nacho would look after us so exceptionally well that everyday went as nicely as it possibly could and on the days I wasn’t as prepared as much as I could be, he always accommodated everything I would have needed and more…..I could not have asked for a better person to lead our group on this trip or a better hotel, as for me it was all perfect!
Most Inspirational Moment
Everyday was an inspirational day! I was speechless with all the views we were able to experience whilst eating our lunch and everyday I was in beautiful surroundings!

Walking The Amalfi Coast - AMAZING!
An absolute must-see and do trip! Everything about the trip was incredible!…..from as soon as we arrived at the airport to be picked up and taken to our hotel to the very last day and moment we were dropped off for the return journey back. Our tour guide Martina is such a warm-hearted, thoughtful, bubbly individual who everyday had the biggest smile and made sure each of us within the group were getting the most from our walking and enjoying all the scenery along the way, she is a fantastic leader with lots and lots of enthusiasm!
The hotel we stayed in, Ztorri, is perfect! The hotel staff are extremely lovely welcoming people who accommodate anything you might need while staying there. They always went the extra mile catering for me being the only vegetarian in my group and food was always so delicious and fulfilling. The room I stayed in was immaculately clean and bed very comfortable to get a good night sleep each day, and I especially liked the mini kettle provided in the room with tea/coffee!!
Each day I would be greeted with so many smiles and all the staff are lovely to each other too which for me creates the most nicest atmosphere to be in……they honestly are a true Italian Family who I could see work very hard to keep their guests the happiest they can be….I definitely would recommend this specific hotel to all my family and friends when they are in Amalfi, as I know they will be looked after like royalty, be served the most delicious Italian food, and will have their expectations exceeded and much more!
The Amalfi Coast is beautiful more than you can imagine, the walks we did took us to panoramic views of the Amalfi and all around is crystal blue sea, with all the history and incredible scenery among us. For me I particularly loved the time we had in Ravello the most, as they have a place called Villa Cimbrone there which is the most breath taking garden I have ever seen…….the moment I entered I knew I could spend the whole day there….it is so beautifully created with all the different plants and paths and views of the coast, that I cannot fully describe the beauty of it…..its somewhere you will be speechless as the views and environment are just that incredible….I think it should be a top three wonder of the world! You will see for yourself if you go!

TMB Highlights - Chalet Chocolat
The chalet is a perfect lodge for this trip, easy access to the local bus and train and only 10-15 minutes walk into the centre of Chamonix, with fantastic views of the Mont Blanc massif.
The walking holiday itself was a fantastic chance to sample some sections of the full tour route of Mont Blanc, Sally our guide was great, full of local knowledge on the mountain range, plants and flowers and we couldn’t ask for more from our guide for looking after our group. The assents at times were quite tough but doable and Sally kept a steady pace and the team together, the descents at times were quite steep but again doable (make sure your boots are broken in if new).
The chalet was warm and welcoming due to the fact that at it’s heart were the hosts Zohi and Ben, it was clean and tidy. The food was AMAZING, continental breakfast, pack-up for lunch with a great selection of salads, rolls, fruit etc. A fantastic surprise was a delicious and different type of cake waiting for us back at the chalet every day after a day’s walking.
The finale of every evening was a three course dinner thanks to Zohi and Ben which was just superb.
Most Inspirational Moment
One morning whilst waiting for a local bus the mountain was covered in cloud but then for a brief moment the cloud cleared revealing the mountain in it's full splendour, it was a magical glimpse which faded as quickly as it appeared.

A magical week in a beautiful part of Italy
Five days walking, every day different and every day interesting, beautiful and just the right amount of challenge.
Authentic Italian meals in a variety of different restaurants. Wine tasting.
Visits to cultural sights and a few little thoughtful extras that I won’t tell you about so as not to spoil the surprise.
A great young leader, who went above and beyond to give us a fabulous experience.
Most Inspirational Moment
Having been nervous about my level of fitness not being good enough it was great to do each day’s walk and feel my confidence grow.
Definitely the feeling of standing on top of the world.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Serena was amazing. Younger that the group by at least 20 years she looked after us all with skill and tact and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience.
Advice for Potential Travellers
You can do it . The pace is perfect with plenty of stops along the way to give time to re energise. I would definitely recommend bringing a collapsible walking pole and if you can one of those rucksacks that keeps the sweat off your back.

Exodus Mont Blanc Highlights Tour
We had the most amazing tour. Exodus organised fantastic accommodation (Chalet Chamonix) with tremendous hosts Sarah and Rich. The food was 5 star restaurant quality and the couple made sure all stop offs and pick ups ran smoothly. They were entertaining and informative, nothing was too much trouble. Exodus also arranged a fabulous guide for our hiking, Sean was excellent, he planned the hikes according to the ability of all the group and judged the pace perfectly. Sean was extremely experienced and a real pleasure to follow.
I would not hesitate to recommend this amazing hiking tour.
Most Inspirational Moment
The views on all our hikes were varied and remarkable and the food in our chalet was incredible.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Sean was wonderful, relaxed and very experienced, he planned our hikes well according to the groups ability and the weather. We all thought he was terrific.
