Discover Guatemala
This is our second trip with Exodus. My wife picked out the company and our first trip from a Google search of five words……. Serendipity. We’ve found our travel team.

Tikal and Antigua Guatemala
Thoughts on Group Leader
Eli is the ABSOLUTE BEST!! He put the trip over the top. We found Eli eagerly greeting us at the airport upon arrival (our flight was a bit late). Within 15 minutes we knew he was going to be good. You could sense the pride he has for his country, yet he gives you a seemingly unbiased lesson into the history. His communication skills are excellent, and if ever asked a question he didn't know the answer to, he found it quickly. Nothing bothered Eli, as he bounced from one thing to the next. He took us to some very "local" and off the path spots. We witnessed things we never thought we would. Eli was always accessible and concerned with everyone's comfort and understanding. On top of being the consummate guide, he is a character! Eli is funny and humble and smart and, as my wife says, too cute. The country of Guatemala is beautiful, and I can't think of a better representative of it than Eli. Don't ever let him go....

Discover Guatemala
I would say the tour was great mostly because of our tour guide Eli. He daily went above and beyond what was expected. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and thorough in everything he did for us. I do like the way Exodus and Eli constructed this tour of Guatemala. Eli constantly made sure we were informed, comfortable and happy. I cannot say enough about him. We had a very small group 5 so we were able to get around quickly and efficiently. This was a great trip.

Some highlights were Tikal, Chichicastenago, Pacaya, Lake Atilan, so many!!
Thoughts on Group Leader
Great trip and itinerary made even better by Guide Eli and driver Jose. Loved all of the stops and the “extras” that Eli brought us to including Mayan ceremonies.

An incredible itinerary, multiple highlights!
I joined this itinerary on it’s first ever departure which was very exciting. The leader was exceptional, many little surprises and getting to see local customs and experiences we would never had seen if it was not for the leader. The itinerary was well organised, with a great mixture of downtime and walking various locations. No drives over 3 hours and were always split up nicely with little experiences along the way.
Most Inspirational Moment
Waking up early to hike Temple Four at Tikal. The peace and wildlife sounds in the early morning light was beautiful, with the climb to the top of the temple being met with an awe inspiring view of the other temples poking out from the jungle treeline.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Exceptional, very organised, friendly and full of knowledge. Dealt with challenges promptly and effectively, ensuring we knew what was happening and using whatsapp group to the best of his ability to help us. He recommended restaurants, looked after those with dietary needs and those who were struggling in any way. He knew so many secret spots which meant that we saw much more than what was advertised just because of his local knowledge.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Bring long trousers and shirts for Tikal due to the Mosquitos, and make sure you take on plenty of water on the walks. Some areas are quite uneven so good walking boots is a must!

Discover Guatemala
We got a wonderful cultural experience of Guatemala. Lots of wonderful experiences with our very personable tour guide Eli kept us informed on the trip all the way. Fabulous cultural experience in Guatemala with Eli our lovely reliably rep who shared all his knowledge with us.
Most Inspirational Moment
Antigua was a gem. Visits to Mayan sites and early morning sunrise. Festival of the planting of the seeds. The colourful markets, climbing the volcano , San Juan La Laguna was wonderful. The thermal baths.

Really enjoyed the hike up Pacaya volcano… but would probably say Tikal was the biggest highlight… a fabulous site.
