What an amazing trip!

The best trip I have ever done with Exodus. Everything was perfect: the itinerary, the accommodation, the food! Vietnam and Cambodia are both amazing countries and this trip was the perfect way to experience them both.

Most Inspirational Moment

The overnight boat stay in Ha Long Bay. Drinking cocktails on the sundeck with the most impressive sunset.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Vuong (V) made the trip. He was incredible at making sure everything ran smoothly and imparted his vast knowledge about Vietnam upon the group. He is a credit to both Exodus and his country.

Advice for Potential Travellers

You can pack light. There are plenty of opportunities to do laundry on the trip (very cheap) and you will most definitely buy lots of souvenirs. Also worth adding on an extra night or 2 on arrival to combat the jetlag before the trip starts.

Volcanoes, Lakes & Condors!

We had such an amazing holiday in these two wonderful countries. My favourite was Chile for the volcanoes and Argentina for the Condors! Easily, the most picturesque trip I’ve been on with Exodus! The accommodation was fantastic for the most part, with a mixture of 3,4 and 5-star hotels!

Most Inspirational Moment

On the final cycling day, in the mix of all the days activities, we walked through the forest for 30 minutes to find the Monkey Puzzle Mother Tree, which is over 1800 years old! Overall, this day was everyone's favourite and just superb!

Advice for Potential Travellers

Take ear plugs with you just in case you're a light sleeper. People's feet on hard wooden floors in some locations and dogs may wake you up, so good to be prepared!

The Ultimate South India Experience

Incredible trip! This itinerary is well crafted to show off all Southern India’s highlights; from tea plantations, temple cities, sleepy coastal towns, wildlife and houseboats to all the friendly locals! Biju, our guide was stand-out with his incredible depth of knowledge and insight into his home state of Kerala as well as the whole of India, he really did make the trip! Vinod, our driver was impeccable navigating the twisty roads of the Western Ghats with precision. All in all, a once-in-a-lifetime trip that I will never forget! Highly recommend.

Temples Food and The Sea Coast!

This tour was everything I hoped for and more — the perfect mix of culture, nature, food, and beautiful views. From walking among ancient temples to seeing the sea.. every day had something unforgettable. The food was incredible, and the local towns were full of charm and character. The Gambino winery experience was also amazing. The wines were delicious after a day walking on Etna mixed with cheese and breads and olive oil. Just wonderful!

Most Inspirational Moment

Mount Etna was the most inspiring moment of the entire trip for me — walking up the slopes and breathing in the air with the landscape around you that feels like you are on mars. You feel tiny but like you’re standing on the edge of the world. I am also not a walker, I was nervous as I would never call myself fit but the walk offered options for all fitness levels. If you were unable to continue up, there were rocks you could sit at and wait for the group to loop back around. There was the option to take the cable car up to view, or to walk even higher.. I went in the middle and I'm so thrilled that I did. You do NOT need to be a walker to enjoy the experience

Thoughts on Group Leader

Laura was a fantastic tour leader. She was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and naturally chatty in a way that made everyone feel welcome and included. She shared the history and culture of Sicily with so much passion, and she was just as comfortable explaining the details of ancient temples as she was giving restaurant tips or making jokes on the bus. She kept the group organized and you could tell she genuinely cared about each person having an amazing experience. Her energy and warmth were a huge part of what made this trip so special.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Pack layers, no matter the season — especially for Etna. Even in summer it can be cold and windy at the top. In November, I wish I had ear muffs and light gloves. If you're traveling in winter, expect some rain and bring a waterproof layer. Comfortable shoes are a must .. and again, I would say you do NOT need to be a walker to enjoy the Etna or Nature Walk experience. They aren't "easy" but everyone can enjoy. Just be prepared that you are walking uphill and on rocky terrain and you'll be ready to rock!

Disappointing

We’ve been on 6 Exodus trips previously and they’ve all been excellent. This trip was a real disappointment. It was under resourced and poorly planned. This was a surprise because we’ve been personally recommended this trip by other Exodus customers and the trip is very well reviewed on the Exodus website. We’ve discussed the trip with Exodus and it appears that a new local provider was appointed during 2025. All of the reviews on the website relate to trips provided by the previous provider so I would recommend that anyone considering this trip keep an eye out for more recent reviews before signing up. Hopefully things will improve.

Reply from Exodus

We’d like to thank Jonathan for sharing his thoughts and for being such a loyal Exodus customer. We’re truly sorry that this trip didn’t live up to the fantastic experiences he’s had with us before.

The Coast to Coast itinerary remains the same as the one so many of our customers have loved, and we’re committed to making sure it delivers the adventure and enjoyment they expect. Recent feedback has highlighted areas where we need to do better, and we’ve already taken steps to improve resourcing and logistics so future departures run more smoothly.

We’re incredibly grateful for Jonathan’s honesty and for the trust he’s placed in us over the years. We sincerely hope he’ll give us the chance to welcome him back and show him the quality he’s come to expect from Exodus.

Iceland October 2025

To be able to get an idea of a country by driving around it is something I would recommend wherever you are. Even better when someone else does the driving.
The views even with unpredictable weather were always second to none. Black sand beaches and icebergs one minute, Lunar like landscapes the next. Spectacular waterfalls around even turn. Enormous fjords and glaciers that you can actually hear moving.

Most Inspirational Moment

I celebrated my 50th birthday whilst on this trip and the northern lights came out in the evening!! how lucky. Our guide Palmi had bought his camera phone and a tripod and so we all got a group shot of us with the lights, brilliant idea.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Our guide Palmi was great. He was laid back and funny, a great talker. Made sure that everyone was looked after, clear about times and where to meet etc. His knowledge and love for his country was clear throughout. We had a WhatsApp group to share pictures with one another and to stay in touch. Just a fantastic bloke, give him a raise.

Advice for Potential Travellers

This is a great holiday to do if you just want a break from walking and cycling holidays. The accommodation overall was good. Everywhere was clean and warm. The breakfasts could see you through to dinner time. Iceland is no more expensive than London in a good restaurant. The days are packed with lots to see which was great for my camera.... We did the Vok baths, highly recommend. swam in a 6 degree lake and then getting into a geothermal pool heated to 40 degrees was life affirming. I will visit again.

A Cuban week to remember

This is a quick trip that gives an insight into the Cuban way of living across the island.
I thoroughly enjoyed my week in Cuba, go with the flow and embrace it. You will experience blackouts, limited water pressure, limited wifi, poverty but that is part of seeing the real Cuba.
To visit the different areas you have to spend the coach time travelling but it was worth it as I enjoyed every destination.

Most Inspirational Moment

There were lots: Vinales plantation, Hummingbirds, Trinidad, Vintage car tour in Havana & live music in restaurants/bars.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Nelson was a great guide, he looked after the group really well and enjoyed sharing his wealth of knowledge with us. He encouraged us to ask questions and was fun to have around.

Advice for Potential Travellers

I took only Euros with me and never needed to change any of them for Cuban Pesos. Euros & US Dollars are accepted everywhere. Only take notes as coins are not accepted. Notes must be in good condition, they will not be accepted if they are ripped or too worn. Take small notes as you may find it difficult to use notes of 50 + Euros & USD were valued the same, 1 Euro or 1 USD = 400 cuban pesos (on average). Water is readily available to buy. There are no public drinking fountains so no need for a filter water bottle unless you want to fill up from the tap in your room. Take tissues/toilet paper with you for your comfort stops. When you get small peso notes, keep them for tipping at toilets or have some 1 US dollars. Take some gifts for the locals with you. You will enjoy meeting people throughout the trip and it is lovely to leave them something that we have in abundance but is limited for them. I took paracetamol, ibuprofen, deodorant, sweets & chocolate. Ropa Vieja (shredded beef) was the best dish I came across. The mojitos are good but try Canchanchara which was a delight to drink.

Walking the best parts of Madeira!

We have had this trip on our radar for a few years but had been put off by poor reviews of both the leader & some of the hotels but we decided to take the plunge & finally book it & we were so glad that we did!
We were blessed with having a great group who bonded well together & having Paulo as our leader which made for a fantastic holiday!
The walks were all different, from rugged coastal walks to Levadas & magical forests which gave us a true taste of Madeira. Paulo took us to local villages to experience the culture & learn about the history of the island.
The hotels were all different in style;- The Dom Pedro is very dated & despite paying for an upgrade, our room was not very nice! The Pestana Casino Studios we liked for their quirky decoration & big rooms although others in our group found them too noisy! For us, the Aqua Natura Hotel was amazing from the fantastic oceon views, the natural salt water pools & lovely food!
We felt that the whole holiday was well planned, taken at a relaxed place & tailored to everybodies needs; the trip exceeded our expectations!

Most Inspirational Moment

We loved the variety of walks which meant that we saw different landscapes & got to understand the history & culture of the island.

Thoughts on Group Leader

We arrived at the hotel at 9pm after the welcome meeting but Paulo had left us a note & his contact details so we knew where to meet the next day. The first thing he did was to introduce himself when we met the following morning & from there on in, he made sure that the group knew what to expect & made the whole trip relaxed & worry-free! Paulo was friendly, funny, knowledgeable & was always happy to help! On our last day the weather was horrible so we could not complete the sunrise walk but Paulo arranged for another walk lower down which was lovely & made a nice end to our holiday! He gets extra points for endulging us in our hobby of geocaching, allowing stops so we could search without affecting the rest of the group!

Advice for Potential Travellers

There were quite a few undulating walks with lots of steps so concentrate on strenghtening knee & hips before you travel to make it easier on your joints or take poles.

A Trip That Exceeded Every Expectation

This Jordan adventure was the perfect blend of history, adventure, and natural beauty. We cycled through stunning landscapes, from the rose-red canyons of Petra, where ancient wonders appear around every corner, to the vast, cinematic desert of Wadi Rum, under a sky full of stars. Along the way, we enjoyed gems like Aqaba, with its warm Red Sea waters and vibrant coral reefs, and the Dead Sea Resort, where floating in the salt-rich water was the ultimate reset after days of exploration.

The trip was thoughtfully designed, combining active adventure with cultural immersion.

Most Inspirational Moment

Walking through the narrow Siq and catching the first glimpse of the Petra Treasury is a moment that stops you in your tracks. The way it emerges from the canyon walls, bathed in morning light, feels almost cinematic, like stepping straight into history.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Our group leader was truly exceptional. His deep knowledge of history brought every site to life, from the stories behind Petra’s carvings to the secrets of Wadi Rum’s desert landscapes. Beyond that, his sense of humour kept the group laughing through long days of cycling and exploring, making every moment more fun.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Take your time, soak it all in, and don’t rush. Petra in the morning is unforgettable, Wadi Rum under the stars is pure magic, and Aqaba is the perfect place to relax and reset. Bring a water bottle, pack light, and just enjoy every moment.

A Journey That Changed My Life

This trip was nothing short of transformative. I have not travelled much in my life, at least not trips like this one, but nothing could have prepared me for how deeply this experience would impact me. From the first morning waking up in Bomerano, sometimes literally inside the clouds, I felt a new kind of aliveness I had never felt before. Every direction I looked was breathtaking, and every day left me feeling inspired, connected and genuinely grateful. What started as a simple hiking holiday quickly became something life changing, and our group bonded in a way that lifted my spirit more than I ever expected. It truly felt like stepping into a dream I never wanted to end. Every hike, every day, offered another reason to fall in love with life again.

Grazie assai, Agerola. Dentro le tue nuvole ho ritrovato il respiro, e nei tuoi sentieri ho imparato a vivere il momento. Non sognarlo soltanto: vivilo.

Most Inspirational Moment

The walk that changed me was Monte Tre Calli. Although everyone talks about the Path of the Gods (and wow yes, it is absolutely beautiful, and Vesuvius the day before was unforgettable) Monte Tre Calli was something on an entirely different level. The woodsy trails, the open ridges, the view at the top, the silence, the wind, the sense of being held by nature for six straight hours. That mountain felt beyond words. It was transformative. It felt like being connected to everything around me and to something inside myself that I had not met before. I will carry that day with me for the rest of my life. These were the kinds of views and feelings that shift your perspective permanently.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Veriano was exceptional. He meshed so naturally with every personality in our group and handled the entire week with calm strength and humour, even after a challenging start with a person early in the trip. His deadpan comments were perfectly timed and became a highlight for many of us. When I slipped and landed on my butt, I said I was fine, and he responded with a straight face, “If you wanted to sit down, you could have just told me.” It broke any embarrassment and kept the momentum of the day going. That moment sums up his energy: supportive, present, knowledgeable and patient. It honestly felt like travelling with a close friend who also effortlessly guided us through every trail without it ever seeming to affect him. His passion for the region and the care he had for our group made the trip unforgettable.

Advice for Potential Travellers

This trip is a real Level 3 and preparation is important. It is beautiful and rewarding, but physically demanding if your body isn’t used to this type of terrain. Train your legs for descending stairs, not just climbing them. I prepped using the stair master every day, but I didn’t realize how much of the trip would challenge the muscles you use going down. Strengthening those beforehand makes a world of difference. Bring poles, drink water and most importantly, stop and take in the views. It is not just optional; it is essential, for your body, your mind and your soul. There is nothing like these landscapes and it is worth slowing down to truly absorb them. Trust your guide, trust your gut and embrace every moment. If you are lucky enough to have Veriano as your tour leader, you are in very good hands.
