A MUST IF YOU LOVE WILDLIFE

I just completed the Whales & Bears of British Columbia tour and it was incredible. From the first ferry ride to Vancouver Island, I was immersed in wild coastline and ancient rainforest. We spotted humpback whales breaching off the bow and watched black bears comb the shoreline for crabs. A full-day outing to the Orford River treated us to grizzlies feasting on salmon amid misty fjords. The group was small, the guides passionate, and every day brought something surprising. Yes, there were long drives and changeable weather, but it all added to the adventure. I’d highly recommend it

I watched a grizzly emerge from the trees and wade into the river, salmon flashing beneath the surface. The air was thick with the scent of cedar and salt, and for a moment, everything was completely still

Sabrina was brilliant, she new so much about Canada and the island and it added so much value

Advice for Potential Travellers

Pack for all weather. Coastal BC can shift from sunshine to rain in minutes — bring waterproof layers and quick-dry clothes. Binoculars and a good zoom lens are worth their weight in gold for wildlife viewing. Be patient and quiet during bear and whale watching — the best moments come when you least expect them.

Absolutely spectacular

This was a truly amazing adventure, Bhutan is a magical place with wondrous scenery and architecture. The people are warm and welcoming and the sights and sounds of the festivals was incredible with the bright costumes, colours and music. The whole trip was well organised and our tour leader was fantastic and so knowledgeable. I knew Bhutan was going to be good but this trip exceeded my expectations, I can’t wait to return.

Highs and lows

There was a lot of bus/ travel time on this journey. Given that, I felt that some days were very poorly planned.
Examples:
One day all we did was cross the border to Turkmenistan. We started at 1:pm and it took 2 hours. The next day there was a six hour excursion to a UNESCO site. Then back to the city for lunch. Then another 5.5 hour drive out to the gas crater. Obviously the UNESCO excursion could have been done the previous afternoon if we would have crossed the border in the morning. Then we would have arrived for sunset at the camp. Instead we were driving in the dark on a very poor and dangerous road, arriving stressed. As an aside, some passengers got bed bug bites at the camp.

The day we arrived in Uzbekistan we had been travelling for 9 hours. All we wanted was our hotel, a drink and some food. Sergi proceeded to say we had to go to the summer palace and a silk factory that night. The whole group was fed up and we did not enjoy either one. These activities were scheduled for the next day.

Anyway there were many days like this; it was agreed by all that we would prefer to get to our hotel in the late afternoon in order to unwind and perhaps explore on our own. There was no need for so many late check ins.

Most hotels were adequate. I did not have high expectations. Rooms were clean and comfortable. However, the breakfasts were horrendous. Cold food, empty buffet trays, very little offered.

Seven lakes Tajikistan was stunning. Cities of Khiva and Bhukara were great.

Ocsana in Kyrgyzstan was friendly, sweet and helpful. Our Turkmenistan guide was very good. Very engaging. Simple straightforward information. I have forgotten his name! Sergi in Uzbekistan/ Tajikistan was very poor. He prattled on for hours, talking very loudly into a microphone while driving in the bus. Reading page after page of statistics, history etc from his iPad. Completely vacuous that most of us were wearing noise cancelling headphones to block it out. After spending 4 hours in a bus we would stop at a market and he would announce : go to the toilet and you can look around for 12 minutes!! Yet we would spend 90 minutes at a horribly busy lunch spot with poor service and long waits.

Advice for Potential Travellers

The travel times are way longer than what’s stated. Be prepared to see a ton of mosques mausoleums. Some ancient sites were not worth the drive. I wish there would have been more natural sites or cultural activities vs so many historical sites. For instance passengers in our group organized an archery and falconry demonstration. And another arranged a viewing of a game of “goat polo”. Neither of these things was on the itinerary but were refreshing and fun.

Cycling the Cape and Winelands

I can’t tell you how enjoyable this trip was. We were 8 people in the group, as well as our brilliant guide Ado and the excellent driver Gavin. So much work went into making this trip just amazing. Everything worked out just perfectly, we had no punctures or problems at all. Ado’s knowledge of South Africa and its history was incredible as well as the entire continent. The group all got on well with one another and we stayed at some really nice hotels along the way. The only thing is I wanted to do it all over again!

Our team leader was Ado, he was just amazing. Knew everything about South Africa, its history, geography, politics, wildlife..he is an encyclopaedia of knowledge and he has great dress sense too! I'd also like to mention how great Gavin the driver was, he did a lot more than just drive. He helped out with all the bikes and spent time talking with us and helping us enjoy the trip.

Sri Lanka

Our trip Sri Lankan Highlights was in September 2025. We learnt so much about Sri Lanka and its lovely people. There was a good mix of culture and wildlife – we saw lots of elephants, bats, jackal, monkeys, birds, crocodiles, reptiles. Our guide Mahen with co-pilot and driver kept us safe and entertained for the whole trip.

my favourite day was the early start with Sigiriya sunrise with village tour with traditional snacks, lake boat ride, tuk tuk and tractor ride finishing off with Ayurvedic Massage at Ashram - a full day expertly crafted by Mahen.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Mahen was fantastic and a great ambassador for his county - he knew all the right places and kept us well informed on what was happening. He tailored the trip to fit in places we all wanted to see and the right shops to stop at.

Advice for Potential Travellers

in September it was really hot - some of the temples required you to take your shoes off so take some socks. An umbrella is handy for rain showers as well as a sun shade (when not too windy). Insect repellent is a must. Binoculars come in handy. We ended our trip with a beach add on which made a perfect end to an enjoyable busy trip.

Unforgettable Southern Adventure

This trip was full of culture, great music and warm Southern charm. Every day offered something new to discover, and even in our free time there was so much to explore.

Most Inspirational Moment

Visiting Graceland and the National Civil Rights Museum was an unforgettable experience. Hearing the stories behind each place brought the region’s history to life, from the music and culture at Graceland to the powerful and moving history of the civil rights movement. It made the whole trip feel personal, inspiring, and deeply memorable.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Our Leader did an amazing job leading our Southern Soul adventure. She brought every place to life with her knowledge and passion, and made sure everyone felt included and cared for. Her energy, organisation and sense of fun really enhanced the whole experience, she went above and beyond to make it unforgettable.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Pack light because it gets hot and you’ll be on the move a lot. Bring comfortable walking shoes and be ready to explore both the well-known sights and hidden local gems. Keep an open mind, talk to locals, and take your time to soak up the music, culture, and history - it will make your trip unforgettable.

Wonderful View, Great Company

We are an Australian couple who are first time Exodus clients. We had a wonderful week hiking the stunning Amalfi Coast in September with a great group of people.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Roberta was amazing. She led us so well, kept and us safe, participated at dinner, kept us very well informed prior and during our hikes and assisted with any additional needs from our group including working out a way for someone to participate with an injury. Roberta also with assisted with transport arrangements for forward journeys which would probably be above and beyond her duties.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Ensure you are fully aware that the hikes can be challenging. There are lots of steps and inclines and declines but certainly achievable if you are relatively fit and don't have any ongoing physical problems e.g. sore knees. The hotel is very clean and the meals simple but more than adequate in quantity. There are options in town for anyone who wants a change on a free night. Agerola is a lovely, quiet town which was a delight after the crowds in Amalfi and Positano. If you are arriving by train into Naples just make sure you receive clear instructions on where to meet your driver. Unfortunately, we didn't have very good instructions and it took a long time to find him. We just thought the "exit" meant "outside" the station when it actually meant as we exited the platforms. Lucky our driver did speak English.
