Enjoy group camaraderie but keep the freedom to explore at your own pace. Many trips include free afternoons or optional excursions, so you can choose whether to wander alone, rest, or continue exploring with your new-found friends.

“With Exodus, you’ll make friends, share passions, and enjoy rich experiences without needing a companion to join you.” – Susan

Ready to Travel Solo, Together?

Still wondering if a solo group holiday is right for you? Many of our travellers were hesitant at first, but they returned with new friendships, incredible memories and the confidence to keep exploring. Don’t wait for a companion to join you. With Exodus, travelling solo doesn’t mean travelling alone – your next adventure is waiting.

“Being a solo traveller doesn’t stop me from having amazing adventures. It’s actually liberating not having to worry about anyone else – I’m able to choose any weird and wonderful destinations I want to go to, and know I’ll meet up with a group of other people who want to be there too. I made a decision a long time ago that I shouldn’t let travelling on my own hold me back, and I’ve never regretted it.”

Find Your Adventure

Planning Your First Solo Adventure with Exodus?

How can I plan to travel solo?

Travelling solo can be daunting, so we’ve put together group itineraries across a wide selection of destinations that are ideal for single travellers. If you want to experience new cultures, a solo trekking holiday, exciting activities, or some of the world’s most stunning scenery, we can take the hard work out of your planning. And, because half of our travellers also choose to holiday solo, you won’t be the only one in the group!

Planning for one of our solo holidays is easier than you might think. Of course, as with any other trip, you’ll want to consider travel insurance, foreign currency, and any required visas or vaccinations for the destination you’ll be travelling to.

As our trips include expert guides, you’ll have someone on hand to recommend and advise you along the way, should you need any help. And, because your itinerary is taken care of, all you’ll need to worry about while you’re there is having fun!

How does a solo travel tour package work?

Our solo travel tours offer a way of experiencing your ideal single traveller holiday as part of a larger group.

Choose your ideal tour, your departure dates, and whether you want flights included. Your selected trip notes will include details of the itinerary, accommodation, weather, food, and transport. Plus, other practical information to prepare you for the trip.

Depending on your chosen solo tour, you’ll spend one to three weeks exploring your selected destination with a range of organised activities. Some of your trip will be allocated as free time to enable you to discover the area at your own leisure.

Some tours and activities are suited to most travellers while others require a certain level of fitness. To find out whether a tour is right for you, take a look at the ‘essential info’ tab on your chosen holiday.

What makes Exodus Adventure Travels small group tours a good choice for solo travellers?

Our small guided-group tours are led by experienced local experts and normally have around 8-16 people in one group. We pride ourselves on having an interest-packed itinerary that’s been fine-tuned to showcase the highlights and hidden gems your destination has to offer.

We also like to encourage an inclusive atmosphere with our guided-group adventures, so most days are spent taking part in daily activities with your group. When it comes to mealtimes, check your trip notes to see what breakfasts, lunches, and dinners are included in our itineraries.

On some evenings, your guide will accompany you to dinner and help you choose which regional specialities to try. However, we also like to include some downtime and free days on our trips. This gives you the freedom to explore as you like and heed the guidance of our local expert, who will give great suggestions of where to eat and the best museums and local art galleries to visit. They can also help you organise optional activities like kayaking, ziplining, and more.

What will my group be like?

We’re lucky to have travellers joining us from all over the world, with many coming from the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, in a wide range of ages. And what’s more, over 50% of our customers choose to travel solo with us so we rarely have a group that only has one solo traveller – most comprise a good mix of solos, couples, and friends travelling together.

Prior to your trip, why not join in the discussion on our Facebook community group, The Boot Room. It’s a space for our Exodus adventurers—where you can post a message, start a discussion with other travellers, ask questions, and share travel tips. This is a great way to get to know your group before you head off on your adventure.

How big are group sizes?

Our tour groups normally have 8-16 people in them. We find that this is an ideal number as it’s not too large and allows everyone to get to know each other.

As over half of our travellers are also on solo holidays with us, it’s a good group size to find others with similar interests to share experiences with.

Where will the group meet?

Your leader will usually meet you at the destination airport and the entire group will get together for the first time at the specified start hotel. This will be detailed in your itinerary and trip notes.

Is it cheaper to travel in a group?

Travelling on a guided-group tour can be more cost-effective than travelling solo on your own, as you could split the cost of some optional activities with the group.

The majority of transfers, included meals, and organised activities are also covered in your booking costs too, which can all add up if you’re travelling alone, especially if you’re looking to travel in remote locations.

Will the group activities be tailored to me?

Each solo holiday is given an activity rating which will help you decide if the tour is right for you.

Our ratings relate to fitness levels, expected weather conditions, and the schedule pace, amongst other factors. They’re also dependent on the type of trip you’re considering such as solo cycling holidays or solo ski holidays.

It’s important to find out the activity level of the tour before booking to make sure it’s one you’re comfortable with.

Adventure Holidays for Singles

If you’re looking to travel solo, but not alone, we know just the right people. Join one of our small-group trips and you’ll share the world’s great adventures with like-minded people who want to go beyond the guidebooks – just one of many reasons travellers love their solo trips with us.

Each is led by an expert tour leader, who know their destinations inside out and take you to the places most others pass right by. They’re also master’s at bringing different people and cultures together, making your solo holidays not so solo.

But where to go? On a single traveller holiday with Exodus, you can trek to mountain summits, cycle unexplored coastal paths, delve into new cultures, or spot elusive wildlife, with a range of adventures spanning all seven continents.

Plus, if you’ve done adventure holidays for singles before, you’ll know they take a lot of planning; so, bypass the stress and book your flights and transfers with us. You can even extend your stay with pre- or post-trip hotel nights or book onto one of our many extensions.

What our travellers say

Here’s what some of our past solo travellers had to say:

“Exceptional! After decades of solo travel, doing it all myself, this was a game changer being in a small group…I like my space a lot yet everyone was so authentic, like-minded.”

– Arlette Lee, Exodus Traveller

“The trips are so well organised. I like to travel alone which is well catered for on their holidays, as there are often several other singles on their trips.”

– Gary Brooks, Exodus Traveller

Incredible trip! This itinerary is well crafted to show off all Southern India’s highlights; from tea plantations, temple cities, sleepy coastal towns, wildlife and houseboats to all the friendly locals! Biju, our guide was stand-out with his incredible depth of knowledge and insight into his home state of Kerala as well as the whole of India, he really did make the trip! Vinod, our driver was impeccable navigating the twisty roads of the Western Ghats with precision. All in all, a once-in-a-lifetime trip that I will never forget! Highly recommend.

This tour was everything I hoped for and more — the perfect mix of culture, nature, food, and beautiful views. From walking among ancient temples to seeing the sea.. every day had something unforgettable. The food was incredible, and the local towns were full of charm and character. The Gambino winery experience was also amazing. The wines were delicious after a day walking on Etna mixed with cheese and breads and olive oil. Just wonderful!

vanessa prevost Highlights of Sicily

To be able to get an idea of a country by driving around it is something I would recommend wherever you are. Even better when someone else does the driving.
The views even with unpredictable weather were always second to none. Black sand beaches and icebergs one minute, Lunar like landscapes the next. Spectacular waterfalls around even turn. Enormous fjords and glaciers that you can actually hear moving.
