4 Ways to Experience Europe – Which One Calls to Your Inner Adventurer?

Alpine passes, Adriatic islands, Cappadocian valleys and Tuscan tables, but how would you discover the best of the continent?

There’s no shortage of adventures in Europe, but how you experience it can make all the difference.

You might want to strap on your boots and earn the view, cycle between islands with an expert local guide, or explore all day knowing somewhere rather lovely awaits that evening. Perhaps you’d rather slow down, meet the people behind a place and experience moments few travellers get access to. That’s where our Travel Styles – Originals, Classic, Superior and Signature – come in: four distinct ways to experience Europe with Exodus.

From Alpine trails to Tuscan tables, here’s what each style can look like when you take it to Europe.

Tour du Mont Blanc Camping Trek | Originals

4 Ways to Experience Europe – Which One Calls to Your Inner Adventurer?

Ten days on foot. Six mountain passes. Three countries. One 15,777ft (4,809m) giant keeping watch.

On our Tour du Mont Blanc Camping Trek, you circle the Mont Blanc massif through France, Switzerland and Italy, spending six to eight hours a day on trails beneath glaciers, across high passes and through remote Alpine valleys. Climb to 8,323ft (2,537m) at Grand Col Ferret, cross the old Roman road over Col de la Seigne and tackle 4,920ft (1,500m) of ascent to Brévent for sweeping views of Mont Blanc on the final day.

Camping keeps you right in the thick of the mountains. After a full day on the trail, share dinner and an after-trek drink with your group as the sun drops behind glaciated peaks, then sleep under canvas with the Alps and stars enveloped around you.

Come morning, take down your tent, shoulder your backpack and head straight back onto the trail. It’s simple, social and all part of the adventure.

This is Originals at its best. Fewer frills, more time out in the elements, and the satisfaction of looking back at the ground you covered to get there.

Cycling Croatia’s Dalmatian Coast | Classic

Cycling Croatia

Some places are simply better experienced from the saddle. On Cycling Croatia’s Dalmatian Coast, pedal quiet roads across Hvar and Korčula, where olive groves, vineyards and forested hills roll towards the blue of the Adriatic.

Over four days of cycling, follow Hvar’s east and west coasts, hop between islands by ferry and ride through the vineyards of the Pelješac Peninsula.

With your expert local tour leader bringing insight and a support vehicle on hand, the riding becomes part of the discovery – taking you through tiny villages and steeply planted vineyards, with views stretching across to the mountainous mainland.

There’s plenty to tempt you off the bike, too. Wander the marble streets of Hvar town, learn about Korčula’s seafaring and stonemasonry heritage, and pause in fortified Ston on the road to Dubrovnik.

On your final two days, you swap handlebars for history as you walk among the limestone streets of Dubrovnik’s UNESCO-listed old town. Active, cultural and full of variety, it’s Classic through and through.

Baltic Highlights | Superior

Tallinn Opera House

Three countries, three capitals and eight days to explore them. Baltic Highlights moves from Tallinn’s medieval streets to Riga’s Art Nouveau architecture and Vilnius, with Superior adding a little more comfort to the mix.

Venture behind the scenes at Tallinn Opera House, taste traditionally made cider at Jaanihanso Cidery and stretch your legs on a coastal walk through the old fishing settlements of Saulkrasti.

Later, explore the golden dunes of Jūrmala, sample Lithuanian spirits and take to Lake Galvė by boat for views of Trakai’s island castle.

In Tallinn, the sleek Radisson Collection Hotel puts the UNESCO-listed Old Town within easy walking distance, with a pool and sauna waiting when you return.

However, that balance of exploration and considered comfort really comes into its own at Birini Manor, northeast of Riga. After your coastal walk, retreat to this historic Latvian estate, surrounded by parkland and lakes.

Built in 1860, the manor feels a world away from a standard overnight stop. Traditional rooms retain the character of the castle, while outside, wooded walking routes wind through the grounds and down towards the water. In summer, you can even take a swim in the lake.

There’s plenty of reason to stay put, too. Head to the old Watermill for a drink or make time for the spa – a rather welcome prospect after a day exploring.

This trip is a softer landing, certainly – but one that brings you even closer to the place you came to discover.

Allure of Renaissance Tuscany | Signature

4 Ways to Experience Europe – Which One Calls to Your Inner Adventurer?

Tuscany rewards those who linger.

On Signature Italy | Allure of Renaissance Tuscany, the familiar landscapes unfold through the people who know them intimately – and invitations that take you a little closer.

Follow a local family and their beloved truffle-hunting dogs into the wooded hills in search of Tuscany’s prized truffles, then sit down together for a farm-to-table lunch.

At Podere Il Casale, meet the farmers and watch pecorino cheese take shape before tasting the results.

In Florence, enjoy rare access by stepping onto the hidden rooftop terraces of the cathedral, tracing elevated walkways above the terracotta city for a vantage point few visitors ever see.

Then there’s Castello di Gargonza, your Signature Stay for five nights.

More than a hotel, it’s an entire fortified medieval village, where stone lanes wind between centuries-old houses beneath a 14th-century tower.

Poet Dante Alighieri is believed to have stayed here during his exile, while generations of farmers later made the village their home.

When Gargonza was carefully restored by the family who still owns it today, its past wasn’t polished away: many of the houses still bear the names of the villagers who once lived there, from the seamstress to the village teacher.

Staying here on your Signature journey means becoming part of that story for a few nights yourself.
