Discover the narrow-cobbled streets, merchant houses and intricate Azulejo tiles cathedrals in the coastal city of Porto, situated in northwest Portugal. From the iconic banks of the Rio Douro and graffiti-laden cafes to extravagant baroque churches and the elegant palm-fringed Jardins do Palácio de Cristal, the diverse landscapes in the city of Porto are bound to impress. Whether you’re looking to unwind in one of their beautiful authentic port cellars or explore the undulating cycling trails along Portugal’s rugged coastline, our Porto tours allow you to discover the best of this sun-bleached region.

On our Porto to Lisbon Atlantic Ride takes you along the Atlantic coast starting in Porto, through the dunes of the Sao Jacinto Natural Reserve and past traditional fishing villages where you’ll spend an overnight stay in the picture-perfect fortified village of Obidos, ending your cycling adventure in the vibrant city of Lisbon. If you’d like to enjoy local wine tastings on a Porto holiday, our Portugal: Walking and Wine trip, starting in the atmospheric winding streets of Porto, you head to the famous UNESCO Douro wine region, enjoy a wine tasting at the Quinta do Tedo winery and head on a nature walk in the spectacular Cabrum Valley. Next, take in the beautiful Terras de Basto region where the famous Vinho Verde is produced, and round up the Porto tour by discovering Porto’s famous wine cellars.

If you’re looking to explore in and around the city on a Porto holiday our Highlights of Portugal trip showcases the best parts of the region, including Porto and the Douro Valley, while also explore some of the country’s hidden gems in the centre of Portugal, like the medieval city of Coimbra, the Batalha Monastery, the eye-catching historical centre of Obidos and the fairy-tale castle of Sinta, for an adventure you’ll never forget.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Portugal. We learned so much and definitely got to see a lot of the country in a short amount of time. Our tour leader, Carla Costa, was absolutely brilliant!!!

Beautiful overview of the country. Learned so much, enjoyed so much! Carla Costa, our tour leader, made it most memorable with her broad knowledge and winning personality. She encouraged a great group of people that turned into good friends quickly. The sites were gorgeous, too! The perfect weather didn’t hurt. All activities and transfers expertly handled.
