Absolutely awesome trip

This was one of the most amazing trips we have ever done. The scenery was breathtaking. The crew and expedition team were cheerful, helpful and knowledgeable. The kayaking with penguins and whales popping up feet away was fabulous.

Most Inspirational Moment

When a humpback whale popped up 10 feet away from our kayaks and just meandered around us for a while.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Solan was wonderful. He has the most calm, funny and inclusive way about him. His voice for the early morning wake up calls is like velvet.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Go! Sign up for the kayaking or some other adventure options. Be flexible. Take loads of camera memory cards and batteries.

Cycling Cuba

Great overview of Cuba although would have liked more time on own to explore places

Most Inspirational Moment

Being there during Castros mourning period - historic event

Thoughts on Group Leader

Brilliant

Advice for Potential Travellers

Train before you go to get your fitness up

Cycle Kerala

It was an amazing holiday. We saw a variety of landscapies and interesting items. The routes were varied and entertaining. I had the option to ride the bus when the road was too steep or too busy.

Most Inspirational Moment

Riding down hill from Ooty in the mist through the eucalyptus trees.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Safi was informative, helpful and fabulous.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Mmske the most of all the trip has to offer.

DISCOVER COSTA RICA

If you want to experience the lushness of the rainforests and the animals and birdlife that inhabit this disappearing
eco system go to Costa Rica.
A group of 15 we all seemed to gel on some level and had a really could laugh .

Most Inspirational Moment

waking up at 5am to an amazing roar and then realised that i had a family of howler monkeys above my log cabin that i had to get up and go and see them. sighting of our first sloth seeing pairs of scarlet macaws by the roadside swoping over our heads the plethora of birdlife from scintillating humming birds to the resplendant quetzal. The continuous sounds of the rainforest coming to life at dusk so deafening but lulled you to sleep!

Thoughts on Group Leader

Excellent. Erick was full of information about his country and could spot wildlife that we would have passed. He showed a passion and commitment to his profession. And he had a great sense of humour to boot!!

Advice for Potential Travellers

It was end of November. /beginning of December the dry season was not upon us. It invariably rained everyday at some stage usually afternoon. A poncho and a brolly is a good idea. But the temperature was warm to hot so not like a cold wet UK day! Hardly any mosquitos infact i didnt see any but something did bite me on my arm and hand maybe ants?!

Cycling Indochina

This was a well thought out trip and the bike equipment , the bike team support in each country was superb and the route was brilliant which allowed us to see many sights along the way, in addition to that we had a guide with a passion and enthusiam for her job.

Most Inspirational Moment

highlights were the Angor Wat Temples brilliant .......and the home stay over the river, where we had a wonderful Vietnamese cooking experience !

Thoughts on Group Leader

Our group leader was amazing..... exceeded expectations , and went more than the extra mile on more than one occasion , she had a passion and enthusiasm for her job and made the whole experience in the three countries most memorable with her knowledge of the areas.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Yes ......do this trip and you won't be disappointed

Savouring a section of India at bike speed

It would be foolish to try and get a taste of all of India in two weeks. You would need to spend at least half your time flying and busing from one corner to another. This tour allows you to savour a corner of India at a reasonable pace. We had a chance to experience the moderately sized city Mysore, see the beaches, the hill country, national parks and cycle both in moderate traffic (hint- don’t look back) and on quiet back roads.

Most Inspirational Moment

Loved -seeing the people washing in the river outside Mysore -recognizing the extent of our disposable plastic problem - the range of climate from dry land in the parks to the canals of Alleppey - seeing a tiger. Yes we were that lucky.

Thoughts on Group Leader

I appreciated that our leader Safi allowed us to cycle - when reasonable- at our own pace. Safi has a quiet sense of humour. He was sensitive to the groups various food needs, always calm and in control of the situation.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Look out for the tuk tuks in Kochi. They will try very hard to get you into 'tourist' stores. That can be fun, but be prepared to wonder about the value. Consider Dukoral to reduce the chance of stomach upsets. Pack your sense of humour. It is all part of the experience. Enjoy the people. I found that a smile or wave, especially to small children would be rewarded with wonderful welcoming smiles in return. We spent some time before and after the biking on our own. People were helpful friendly and happy to share their lovely country.

Mt Toubkal winter climb

Overall had a fantastic time.

Most Inspirational Moment

Both summit successes

Thoughts on Group Leader

Hassam was an excellent group leader. He had a tough decision to make regarding 2 clients, bur he made the correct one, due their fitness levels and experience. Any other decision could have put the whole group in danger.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Well worth doing this trip.

Superb, fun-filled trip with lots of variety

This trip covers a lot of ground! I can’t believe how much we managed to do in just two weeks, and needed my photos and videos to remind me. The accommodation was of an exceptionally high standard and we slept very well everywhere. Our own guides were brilliant, and the external guides at various locations were excellent and very knowledgeable about their specialist areas.

Most Inspirational Moment

There were too many to list them all! Crossing Buffalo River (near Rorke's Drift) was quite an adventure - certainly very memorable. Michael Caine would have been proud of us :-) The Sentinel Path walk, in the Drekensburg range, was wonderful and the ladders weren't too challenging - well worth the effort to reach the escarpment with superb views for miles in all directions. Watching hippos at close range, from the safety of a sturdy boat, was an amazing experience. The wildlife encounters were fantastic everywhere - I never imagined we would be able to see so many varied species at such close proximity.

Thoughts on Group Leader

We had an amazing team! Colly, Skhu and Farai were all fantastic and worked hard from morning to night to ensure that we all had a great holiday. It was a privilege to share their insights into the fascinating culture, history and landscape of South Africa. They were very good at judging when we needed a break on the long days travelling, and made sure we had plenty to eat and drink at all stages. They prepared varied and interesting meals, and there was always more than enough for even the most hearty appetites.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Read the trip notes carefully. Take plenty of sunscreen and insect repellent. Don't take too many clothes - the laundry service in Swaziland was very good and excellent value for money

Best Cycling Adventure Yet ... Guaranteed

You’ve read the other reviews about this trip and Suresh and his excellent team. They’re spot on. Organisation and leadership on my trip were first rate. Accommodation and cuisine along the route compare very favourably to other Exodus trips we’ve done before. The trip provides a good blend between being a cycling challenge and a sightseeing trip, with plenty of cultural and natural highlights along the way.

Most Inspirational Moment

The superb sunset at Ella which materialised out of nowhere was very memorable, as was the exhilarating descent the following day - it takes you through several of Sri Lanka's climatic zones in no time at all and illustrates well just what a beautiful country this is.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Suresh and his team did a superb job. He is extremely well organised and has the knack of giving everybody on the trip just the right amount of attention and support they need. He works very hard to ensure you see the best of what Sri Lanka has to offer and is able to provide some excellent insights into the wildlife and cultural attractions you will see along the way. If you are unlucky enough to take a tumble rest assured that the team are well experienced at seeking out medical attention along the route and taking care of you.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Although this trip is mostly on road, quite a few sections are bumpy or potholed, so getting a bit of practice in on an MTB, and taking a comfy saddle and cycling shorts will help you enjoy the trip all the more. If its hot electrolytes will help you keep hydrated.

Annapurna Sanctuary & back!

11 days of wonderful walking through farmland, forests -the mountains were the bonus! Fantastic wildlife, views to die for, with a soundtrack of rushing water a constant companion.

Most Inspirational Moment

Having made it to Annapurna Base Camp, having quiet time alone to try to absorb the sheer beauty and unpredictable power of the landscape. Also following the river back down again - amazing waterfalls everywhere!

Thoughts on Group Leader

Bikash was brilliant, helping this very novice trekker achieve her goal to make it to 4,000m, with lots of laughs and singing on the way. He never made you feel you were too slow - he encouraged everyone to walk at their own pace, but kept a quiet eye out for problems & difficulties, and calmly dealt with them.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Although I knew there were stone steps, I and others underestimated how many! There are times when you are walking up steps for several hours, so finding a good, comfortable pace is essential - not fast, but steady. We walked in November where the days were hot - T shirts & shorts, but the nights are down jacket & thermal time. I had packed loads of thermal gear, but not enough summer layers. Also, be warned that on the flight back the luggage allowance is 10kg hold and 5 kg cabin - not 15kg hold as most of us thought, which meant there was a frantic unpacking at the last minute, and I left things I needed on trek back in Kathmandu. Safe drinking water was plentiful, so I didn't need my purification tabs, but take some just in case...
