Excellent Holiday From Start To Finish

I can’t recommend Exodus highly enough. We were taken care of extremely well from start to finish.

Most Inspirational Moment

The group spirit was great.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Martino was very professional and took very good care of us. His knowledge of the areas we visited was quite amazing. Couldn't have asked for a better guide.

Nice trail,Titicaca and Nazca

A superb trip, very well planned and executed. The views were just amazing and the porters food incredible. We were so well looked after. Our guide, Bobby, was excellent and so informative. He knew all the best places to eat as well! Hotels were all good and we would thoroughly recommend the experience to others.

Most Inspirational Moment

Arriving at Dead Woman’s Pass.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Bobby was brilliant, he couldn’t have been better.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Take plenty of thermals for the camping part as it was so cold at night.

Peru at it's best

I cannot thank Smriti, Trehan, Rolando and especially Marcia our guide enough for a quite special experience. Exodus ticked all the boxes for a great adventure, thank you all.

Most Inspirational Moment

Difficult to say, as both the trek and visiting Machu Picchu were so well organised, thought out and made for a special trip - perhaps of a lifetime!

Thoughts on Group Leader

Marcia was so very special in so many ways, her local knowledge of the people ( she is after all a local there) the route, looking after the group but most of all her smile and engaging giggle at every opportunity. We could not have been in better hands!

Advice for Potential Travellers

Waste no time in booking your trip with Exodus!

July 2018 Inca Trail and Peru

Excellent Guide, Bobby (Ubaldo), helped the group understand so much about Peru’s history, culture, fauna and amazing achievements of the Incas and preceding tribes, and all done with real sense of humour. Off the Inca trail Bobby continued to look after us, so the small group that flew back to UK were looking for him to help sort us out at Gatwick. The porters and cooks were also brilliant, not sure how they covered the route so quickly and made food and camp sites so comfortable. Also helped having a really friendly group of fellow travellers. All-in-all a brilliant experience.

Most Inspirational Moment

Standing on a high point in the Andes above the camp watching the sun come up - red glow spreading across the mountain peaks, magical.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Bobby (Ubaldo Quispe) was brilliant - gave so much insight and things to think about, always joking, but real sense he was looking after us and getting things organised. Missed him when we got back to UK!

Advice for Potential Travellers

If weather clear, take advantage of flight over Nascar lines, but don’t eat for a couple of hours beforehand. Really brings home the scale, but involves a lot of weaving. During Trail, take things slowly, but the guide will explain things like that. At Machupichu you are limited to small bag/ ruck sack, had left our small bags behind, would have been good to know about the limitation before leaving Cuzco.

Loved it!

My husband and I have never done a trip like this and we have never camped before. We loved it. The tour is interesting and varied. The walk in the dessert was spectacular, climbing the Dune was quite hard, but watching the sun rise made the climb worth every step. Eating supper round a camp fire was really nice and sociable and the food was really good. We are vegetarian and we were well looked after. We saw hundreds of animals: giraffe, rhino (and a baby rhino), lions, elephants and their babies, springbok, zebra, ostrich, fabulous birds, warthogs, hyena, jackal, many types of deer and antelope, baboons… We wish we could do it all over again.

Most Inspirational Moment

The most inspirational moment of the trip was the herd of elephants that came to the waterhole in Etosha. So many other animals came too. It was a really beautiful experience.

Thoughts on Group Leader

The group leader, Ben, was excellent. He looked after us with care and consideration. He had excellent knowledge on every question that was asked and he was very good at finding the animals for us to see. The crew (the driver and the cook - Jonas and Orbert) were also excellent.

Advice for Potential Travellers

July was a good time to travel because it was not too hot during the day. The temperature does fall at night so a really good sleeping bag and a blanket (if you feel the cold) is a good plan. The facilities at each site vary so it is better if you can be flexible. You need malaria tablets, but there were very few insects at that time of year - it may be different at other times. We are very cautious so we had insect repellent clothes. You can get clothes washed at the hotel in Swakopmund and one or two other places, so you need to plan clothes carefully. Some of the roads are very bumpy, but then we were travelling through the dessert. It would definitely help if you have a head torch with you.

Amazing week at Chalet Chocolat

This was one of the best organised tour holidays I’ve ever been on. We had an exceptional week of hiking, our tour guide Tom was awesome – he had fantastic local knowledge, kept us clear of the big tour groups, showed us all the hidden gems and kept us entertained with his stories. The hiking was very civilised and reasonable, should be no problem if you’re in decent physical fitness. Great introduction to the beautiful Mont Blanc area. The weather in July was perfect – we were lucky to not get even one day of rain or bad weather. Staying at Chalet Chocolat was also great – our chalet hosts Zohi and Ben looked after us so well; amazing breakfasts, buffet pack-your-own lunch, fresh baked cakes every day and a three course meal – the food was really well done, dietary requirements catered for. Couldn’t ask for more – would definitely recommend this trip to anyone!

Most Inspirational Moment

Looking at the views over the Chamonix valley on the last day of our trip, while sitting down to each lunch. It was a spectacular view after 5 days of hiking and got to enjoy it with a great group of people.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Tom was an exceptional tour leader, so knowledgeable, patient and entertained us with his chat and stories. He really made the experience enjoyable and successful for everyone.

Trip of a lifetime

A trip of a lifetime and a dream come true to visit Peru, Machu Picchu and the Amazon rainforest.

Most Inspirational Moment

We were blessed with the most amazing sunshine during our trek to Macchi Picchu and left with beautiful photos of the Andes and wonderful memories.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Our group leader, Frank, was everything you could wish for - as an advocate for Peru and as a guide. There could not have been a more perfect person for the job.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Don’t take the category 4 rating lightly in terms of the challenge. Whilst some people trotted up and down like mountain goats, my lungs and heart really, really struggled. I did a lot of cardio and strength training in advance, but it was still very, very hard work.

Fantastic!

The Dolomites had long been on my list to visit and I was not disappointed! A photo opportunity at every turn. Flights from Gatwick to Venice were at good times. The transfer from Venice to Campitello was nearly 3 hours but with good weather and lovely scenery the time soon went by.
The Hotel Enrosadira was comfortable and the food – lots of it- great. Getting around was easy after buying a lift/bus pass (76 euros). Our group got on well and there was always plenty of laughter and stories to tell in the evenings.

Most Inspirational Moment

On the spare day I went up to Sas Pordoi...amazing rocky scenery. Just wish I'd taken my boots that day!

Thoughts on Group Leader

Our guides Albert and Martin really knew their stuff and made the holiday run very smoothly..great job!

Advice for Potential Travellers

Go and enjoy yourself!!

Trails of Vietnam

A busy trip, which gave a great overview of Vietnam, but with enough activities so that It didn’t feel a sightseeing tour. There were journeys to be made but there was always a fun activity to look forward to. Vietnam is a fascinating country, and we met lovely people along the way.,

Most Inspirational Moment

We were a very small group ( only 4) and it was lovely to be invited into the kitchen to eat at our first homestay. I enjoyed the buzz of cycling in Hue,

Thoughts on Group Leader

Thoa was a great leader. Everything was organised to perfection and we made great use of our time. Thoughtful things like ordering a take away on the train, and his attention to detail added to the trip. He is good company and I learned so much about Vietnam from him.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Bring earplugs! Apart from the risk of snorers in the homestays, there is also the risk of karaoke! The biking equipment is great, but padded shorts a must. Be prepared for lots of action, as well as some long journeys. Leave room in your suitcase for clothes from Hoi An.
