The walking was varied with great views every day and the hotel owners were determined to put pounds on us with their delicious food. My calf muscles were groaning after the steps to Amalfi but otherwise the walking was reasonably easy.

This was my first Exodus experience and if you’re worried about what to expect, don’t be. Busy lives mean that most of us just don’t have the time to plan every day of our holiday. Well, thank you Exodus for taking away that pressure. I didn’t have to think…I had time to enjoy, knowing that the planning was taken care of, in our case, by our guide Christine. And taken care of so well, thank you Christine!I felt like I was looked after, thoroughly enjoyed being part of a group and would recommend the scenery of Southern Italy. Thank you Exodus, be seeing you again! P.S. Our hotel was fab: from the food (& drink!) to the rooms and also the excellent staff.
Beautiful landscapes, sunlight every days, nice walks, swimming in a very warm and blue sea, good food… Great time!
After a very nice walk on the top of the mountain, walking down to the beach, swimming a little in the beautiful water, resting a little on the beach with a fresh drink or icecream and return back by boat enjoying the view all along the beautiful coast!
A very nice girl, funny girl! We did a lot of funny things! lovely!
The weather is very hot, you must be prepared to walk under the sun...
A fantastic trip combining exercise, culture, great cuisine, stunning scenery and loads of fun. The family hotel was so welcoming and comfortable. Can’t wait to do another walking holiday.
For me being a bit of a 'foodie' I absolutely loved being invited into the kitchen to see our dinner being cooked and being able to get stuck in and help. Launching ourselves into waterfalls to cool down was definately a must. Pompeii was truly incredible.
Superb tour leader. Great local knowledge and network of local contacts all of which made us so welcome. She knew how to have fun and made sure we did too. Very professional and approachable. Couldn't have asked for a better leader.
Perfect weather,wonderful food & accommodation.Beautiful scenery & great company.
All walks were really enjoyable.Pompeii & Vesuvius were fantastic.
Not much - he seemed disinterseted. Daily advice & information was lacking ie. re the lack of toilets.
While this is not a difficult walking holiday it is not a stroll in the park.Take a proper hat, NOT a cap.
This was the second time I have done the Amalfi Coast trip: firstly by myself in 2005 and, after having such a lovely time, I decided to bring my husband and friends along.
No one moment in particular, but being in such an interesting and pretty part of the world makes the whole week worthwhile. The Walk of the Gods is great, as was the view from top on the first day's climb. The family- run hotel and being in a town not overrun with tourists is a great bonus.
Unfortunately, the only part of the trip that was disappointing for our group was the leader. He seemed a bit "over it" as far as being a group leader goes. While I appreciate he was unwell with a cold, he gave little or no advice, showed little knowleldge or interest in answering questions and generally was a bit useless. Having done this trip in 2005 with a different group leader (and having an expectation of Exodus providing us with a similarly enthusiastic leader), I was quite disappointed (and a little embarrassed as I had encouraged three others to come).
Definitely do the Amalfi Coast trip. The downhill walking can be tough on your knees, so take walking sticks if you think this may be an issue. On the walking days, think "moderate" for your rating; the "leisurely" part of the rating relates to the non-walking days. I also think a day-trip to Capri on your free day would be advisable.
Lovely views, food was a bit basic.
Walk of the Gods
Knew his stuff about the region.

Wonderful week away in the Amalfi, the walking was varied and interesting with fantastic views. The group leader Christine was passionate about the area and really bought the trip to life. The hotel were great and they couldn’t do enough for us, really making the effort to make the trip special and make us feel at home.
For me i loved the day in Pompeii which was so interesting, the guide was the best investment of the holiday and really bought it to life showing us all the key things and explaining things that you wouldn't even think to ask. Also the walk of the gods on the last day was wonderful with amazing views.
Christine was friendly, professional and passionate about her job and the area which really made the holiday. She made the whole holiday very easy and relaxing and was a lot of fun.
An active, yet relaxing trip to a beautiful corner of Italy with an amazing variety of different walks offering views of coastal cliffs, limestone peaks and gorges, charming seaside towns and some history in the form of the extensive and intricate ruins at Pompeii and Herculaneum as well as a unique visit to one of the world’s most notorious volcanoes.
All the walks were excellent and different from each other, but the afternoon ascent to the summit of Mount Vesuvius really stood out for me. There were numerous steaming fumaroles illuminated by the setting sun just metres away from the remnants of a snow cornice on the crater rim and extensive views over the Bay of Naples in all directions – stunning!
Barbara was friendly, well organised and informative and also allowed all group members to go at their own pace and make the most of any free time on the trip.
On the free day, boat trips to Capri aren’t available during winter months so a good option is to visit the Roman ruins of Herculaneum and the clifftop village of Ravello and this was conveniently arranged with the hotel who ran private transfers to each of these sites. The hotel staff are very welcoming and accommodating and did a particularly good job at catering for my meal preferences.
This was an enjoyable week, great weather especially for the beginning of November, great food – although sometimes a little too much, good hotel, fab company, good guide and a good mix of walking and site seeing.
Visiting Herculaneum and Pompeii realising how little civilisation has changed in the last 2000 years.
Christine was a great group leader and was very considerate to all members of the group. She gave a thorough briefing every evening letting us know exactly what was to come the following day.
The grading of the walking is appropriate and generally speaking there is alot more down than up, just beware there are an awful lot of steps on the day 3 walk into Amalfi and this does take it out of your knees somewhat. Plus be prepared for the bun fight to get on the local bus back from Amalfi, this for me was the low point of the trip.
