Best of the Best

Such an amazing trip! I wasn’t entirely sure of what to expect but the team were amazing. Zohi and Ben catered to our needs with incredible food. The three course dinners were to die for! They also made the chalet feel so homely and welcoming. So many laughs were had! .

Most Inspirational Moment

Just being in the mountains and looking at the views.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Our guide, Shaun, was a lot of fun, very knowledgeable and patient with all of the questions (and there were many!). He did an incredible job at balancing the needs of the group.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Make sure you read all the trip notes and know what you need. All of the information is there for you.

Best experience ever!

From start to finish this trip was AMAZING.
The Chalet hosted by Ben and Zohi was so welcoming. I wasn’t sure what to expect when the itinerary said “home cooked meals”… Well, what an absolute treat. A cake after every day, and a 3 course meal which was the most amazing meals each and every day. Sean guiding us each day on the mountain made me feel very confident and comfortable!

Most Inspirational Moment

Every hike! MAking it to the top of each hike and the view ...

Thoughts on Group Leader

Fantastic!

Advice for Potential Travellers

Be prepared with your fitness, good gear, comfortable boots, enough layers to be warm in the morning, and it gets warm at the top! Of course depends on the time of year you do the trip.

On top of the world

My first Exodus trip but won’t be the last. A great trip with a really good, flexible guide who helped make it an extremely memorable trip. The hosts in Chalet Chocolat were full of warmth and charm that added to the adventure, Zohi’s cooking was amazing, dinners and cakes just fabulous. The walking was a great pace, hard enough to earn the cake but not too hard to cause injury. The scenery is breathtaking and a great way to get to know the area and fellow hikers. Chamonix is a fabulous French town to spend time in. The whole trip just left me feeling on top of the world!

Most Inspirational Moment

Reaching the summit on day 3, stunning.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Fantastic, adaptable to conditions and knew what we were capable of, nobody was pushed too hard

Advice for Potential Travellers

Get put of the normal holiday routine, you won't regret it

Amazing wildlife viewings

Amazing overall itinerary. Saw the big 5 in the Masai Mara in the first two days including iconic wildebeest migration crossing the Mara River. Followed by chimp trekking and gorilla trekking in Uganda which were amazing. The gorilla trekking in particular was superbly organised.
Some long travel days but absolutely necessary to get between National Parks.
Good safari truck and amazing food all cooked from local produce.

Most Inspirational Moment

Seeing the Silverback gorilla so close

Thoughts on Group Leader

Gilbert was excellent. The other three members of the crew, Stoney, Albert and James, were also excellent.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Take a light weight inflatable mattress if you need that little extra padding, we took an adjustable walking pole each for the gorilla trekking and found them very useful although even more so was the porter who guided you over the worst bits of the mud and held you up when you started slipping. Go with an open mind about early morning starts and long journey times as they are all necessary and the holiday was unforgettable.

Brilliant variety of rides. Best trip ever!

Such a variety of cycling through such a variety of landscapes. Some of the best days riding we’ve ever done.

Most Inspirational Moment

The ride through the rain forest; riding on the pampas.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Brilliant - your tour leaders are always good, but Ale was exceptional and inspirational. The support staff were brilliant too!

Advice for Potential Travellers

Don’t be fooled by seemingly short distances - most of the rides are at high altitude, so pace yourself.

Another great trip with Exodus

This trip exceeded my expectations in terms of the standard of walks, places we visited and fabulous companions.

Most Inspirational Moment

I loved all the walking but the most inspirational was the trip to Treviso. The city was very clean fascinating and interesting. I loved the walled centre and the great guide who showed us around with lots of enthusiasm. In addition, the food stop near the fish market provided delicious lunch and tiramisu.

What can I say about Vania that hasn’t already been said! I chose this trip because I wanted to travel with Vania again having previously walked the Amalfi coast with a group led by her in March 2018. She is a delightful, professional, friendly and calm person with a great sense of humour, and I joked with her that she was our Mummy and we were her chicks following closely behind. Nothing seemed to phase her and she always had a smile for everyone. She is a credit to Exodus.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Definitely take insect repellent, even in October, as the little blighters can inflict nasty bites.

Excellent trip.

Just returned from.this Mongolia trip. It was a wonderful holiday. Mongolia is vast and fascinating. The holiday was made more enjoyable and informative by our guide MG. The Eagle Festival was unbelievable. 120 eagle hunters with their beautiful Golden Eagles.

Most Inspirational Moment

The Eagle Festival

Thoughts on Group Leader

The group leader MG was amazing. Knowledgeable and well organised. Took all the stress of travelling. Well done MG.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Take more money. The Ger camps sell beer and wine. Plus you need c $100 per person for tips and incidental paid for by the group leader. Plus you need to tip the group leader at the end of the trip.

A trip of a lifetime!!

This trip was a once in a lifetime trip and the memories we made will last a lifetime!!

Most Inspirational Moment

Hot air ballooning over the Masai Mara was incredible and the large numbers of young animals was simply great to see!!

Thoughts on Group Leader

Our group leader was so knowledgeable and only to happy to answer any and all questions on the locations and huge variety of animals we saw!

Advice for Potential Travellers

Remember to take something warm for the Ngorongoro crater it got a little cold that night. Although there are some long drives the views and potential animal sightings are well worth it. Our drive through the Masai Mara and onto Lake Victoria was lone but absolutely amazing with Lion, Giraffe, Elephants, Crocs, Hippo and much more!

Sudden plan to Ethiopia

I didn’t know much about Ethiopia. We suddenly make plan to visit Ethiopia and in this trip we come to about its culture and history. This trip is quite nice, sometime such sudden plans give you lot of happiness and fun.

Most Inspirational Moment

Simien Mountains hiking

Walks, Cakes and Japes

My first Exodus trip for a while this trip was like slipping into a comfortable pair of slippers. The holiday ran like clock work and I could focus on walking, relaxing and getting know my fellow hikers. The pace was exactly what I needed challenging enough to feel like I’d earned the delicious food, but not so taxing I had an existential crisis.

Most Inspirational Moment

Stunning views of Mont Blanc and the surrounding mountains. The trip over the border to Italy was a particular highlight of good weather, a stunning walk and finishing in a picture post card Alpine town

Thoughts on Group Leader

Emma our erstwhile guide was great. A perfect blend of supportive, encouraging and hilarious. Like all the best guides I came away with more than a few tips as well as a wealth of knowledge about the local flaure and fauna. I wouldn't hesitate to sign up to any trip she was leading.

Advice for Potential Travellers

I thought this trip was well run and had a polished itinerary. I'd take some clothes with an elastic waistband if you are partial to a slice of cake! There are some great restaurants in Chamonix on the off day. The local Savoie wine (mainly white) and Mont Blanc beer are also worth seeking out.
