Reviews

Turquoise? Yep; that could fit.

The walking was generally gentle & the weather really good. It’s stony underfoot & occasionally claustrophobic walking along narrow paths, but the views are truly different from those to be experienced in England.

Most Inspirational Moment

Any number of views towards the coast & the countryside in general provides a "change is as good as a rest" experience anyway. The great weather was a real plus.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Ali was really good - patient; good English; experienced. 11 out of 10 for him.

Advice for Potential Travellers

The hotel is spartan & not really good enough for people who are well past the backpacking stage. The holiday would have been much worse if the weather had been less welcoming. Changing money in restaurants - when you're going to eat there - gives a much better exchange rate than that obtainable through big hotels, banks or ATMs.

Suggestions

The people in the hotel were really friendly, but the accommodation is not up to scratch, I'm afraid.

The Turquoise Coast

What a fantastic trip! It was my first experience of Exodus and I would definitely use the company again. The days’ activities were always well organised, enjoyable and interesting.

Most Inspirational Moment

Having the Patara beach destination at the end of our walks was spectacular. The roman ruins were really worth seeing, as was the Turkish market and Turkish lunch at a local Turkish family's house.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Our leader Touget was really attentive and helpful to the group and gave us an insight into the culture.

Suggestions

I didn't realise there would be evening meals organised and this was great for getting to know the group.

THE TURQUOISE COAST

Great holiday, moderate activity, lovely group and fantastic scenery!

Most Inspirational Moment

This was my first solo adventure and I was a bit worried about what I was getting myself into! My fears were put to rest very early however as the group was lovely and the scenery amazing. The most inspirational moment for me was actually booking it, but the scenery we saw on our walks were awe-inspiring too.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Our group leader was called Zep and she was lovely, funny, friendly and always happy to help.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Our hotel was very basic but clean, but I would advise that single travellers pay the supplement for their own room as it would have been a bit awkward to have shared I think.Be prepared for a couple of hours walking a day, usually between 7 and 12km per day, but nothing too hard. Do not attempt if you are a bit unure on your feet or have virtigo as some of the walks are very narrow on cliff paths and very high up!

Suggestions

The notes say you will only need around 200 lira for the holiday, but that will only cover your food as the trip includes B&B only.

THE TURQUOISE COAST

A great choice for a last grab of sunshine before entering the English winter. Beautiful scenery, undemanding walks, great food and surprisingly good wine (Turkish wine was a revelation).

Most Inspirational Moment

Hard to decide between the spectacular coastal views and my first trial dive, where I saw a green turtle.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Deynep was close to perfect. She had a bubbly enthusiastic nature and became a friend to all of us.

THE TURQUOISE COAST

Good, relaxing, well organised and thoroughly enjoyable.  Less energetic than other "moderate" walking holidays I have been on.

Most Inspirational Moment

Wonderful visit to Arykanda - I'm not generally a "ruins" person, but this was really fascinating.

Thoughts on Group Leader

First class.  He was knowledgeable, well organised, pleasant company and showed interest and concern for all in the group.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Although daytime temperatures were warm, evenings can get quite cool (mid-October), and some people found that they had not taken enough warm clothing.

Suggestions

Having been on several "moderate" walking holiday, I found that the walks on this one were shorter and tracks easier.  This did not detract from an excellent holiday.
