WOZ - Sept.
Excellent trip, great group and great group leader. Guides also excellent. People very friendly and helpful. Went smoothly and fulfilled expectations.
Most Inspirational Moment
The Great Argus Pheasant (aka the 'Sumatran pigeon').
Thoughts on Group Leader
Elly was Superb. Nothing to suggest for improvement other than a little more research on restaurants.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Ignore hotel and accommodation restaurants. There are much better and better value restaurants outside the accommodation. Go in the dry season. We had very little rain (other than the usual afternoon downpours in the jungle).

Possibly my favourite Exodus trip so far
This is a great trip. More challenging than it looks on paper as most of the steepest climbs are off road. We had great weather although it was very hot for the most challenging climb. Even so, we all made it to the top successfully. Javier and Alberto were our guide and transporter and really made the trip special. I didn’t do the Camino for religious purposes but collecting stamps in your pilgrim passport along the way and travelling to the same places as everyone else on the route made this trip a bit different.
Most Inspirational Moment
Finishing the final difficult climb up near the airport of Santiago. We all made it and in plenty of time to know we would get to the centre with time to spare. There was a team spirit in our group by then and we were all pleased for each other.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Javier was great. Just the right amount of help, advice and encouragement. Very knowledgeable too. Alberto was wonderful too, always on hand with water or a pump when needed. Spotting the van was always a good feeling.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Take the climbs slowly and you’ll be fine if you are fairly fit.

The Alternative Vuelta!
We cycled 325km from Leon to Santiago in 6 days with over 5000m of climbing. We saw amazing sights, churches, cathedrals, castles, medieval bridges and forts. Javier and Alberto were great guide and support. The company of the group was great, food amazing and we all arrived safely with a great sense of achievement.
Most Inspirational Moment
There were many, from climbing to the tops of mountains above the clouds, to passing cheering pilgrims, to finally reaching the main square in from of the cathedral in Santiago and attending the Pilgrim Mass.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Javier was brilliant, he looked after us very well, his local knowledge was extensive, he took us to amazing places you would never find on your own. The restaurants and coffee stops he found were never crowded and always served the best local cuisine. Thank you Javier. And not to forget Alberto who provided excellent support and entered into the banter with the group! Go Alberto!
Advice for Potential Travellers
To get the most from the trip you will need to do some training. The terrain is challenging, the mountain climbs require some stamina and you will need good bike skills for some of the off road sections.

Amazing landscapes and lots of balloons
The landscape is amazing, the walks mainly involved going down valleys and along the bottom. Descents were tricky as the terrain is rock or scree. Our leader helped the less sure.footed. Take poles. The hotel was great and the food excellent especially breakfast. Lunches involved local restaurants or big buffets, The latter were full of tourists but the food was Turkish with plenty of variety The area is a tourist trap but most come for the balloon rides, very few were on the walks. One of the best walking holidays I have done
Most Inspirational Moment
The Red Valley, stunning rock formations
Thoughts on Group Leader
Haydi was excellent and looked out for everyone. He also organised extra trips including a whirling dervish performance. Our driver was excellent.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Take jumpers! It was 25 plus in the daytime but cold at night, I travelled the first half of September . Take cash, card machines were erratic. Drinks and snacks are pricey as it is a tourist area

Brilliant holiday
Saw so much wildlife, elephants, lions, hyena, hippo, crocodiles and much much more. We got very close to a lot of the wildlife and had some amazing experiences. Variety of habitats, some beautiful and anazing sunsets. Boat trip enabled us to get close to animals such as hippo and buffalo. Helpful and efficient camp crew and food was good. Mixture of drives, walks and boat trips, all very rewarding.
Most Inspirational Moment
Seeing elephants whilst on a walk. Although we couldn't obviously get very close it was wonderful to be on the same ground with no fences or barriers. Second boat trip wass exceptional in terms of beauty and wildlife.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Brian was excellent. Always smiling, helpful, organised, very very knowledgeable, cares about everyone having a wonderful holiday.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Some very early starts. Take a face covering to avoid dust getting into your nose and mouth on the drives. Don't forget a torch.

Very Interesting
Amazing trip to te heel of Italy. Matera was my particular highlight, due in part to the passionate guide who enthralled us it her personal relationship with Matera. Trulli houses beautiful although Alberobello was not great. The train to Martina Franca was good. Lecce too was magnificent, I’ve never seen so many churches. A great trip.
Most Inspirational Moment
The guide, Brunella at Maters. Also Anna at the olive Grove.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Mainly good but he didn't really bond with the group.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Good shoes.

Fantastic trip to Albania
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our cycling holiday in Albania with Exodus travel. Booking the trip was easy and communicating with Exodus very straight forward. We booked 4 months in advance in order to guarantee our places and to book flights when they were cheaper. We were met on arrival by Erlis our guide and the transfer to our first hotel and start of the trip was seamless. The trip itself was very well planned and executed. We didn’t have to make many decisions and great accommodation and restaurants, coffee stops were all arranged for us in advance. Accommodation ranged in quality but on the whole was really good. The food was excellent always and plenty of it. We cycled in September so it was mostly very hot and we needed to rehydrate often. There were 2 days of really tough cycling, 1st and last but there were plenty of stops and options to go on the bus. I hired an electric bike which was a godsend on the difficult days especially due to the heat. It was an incredible trip; Albania is a fascinating country with a diverse history and beautiful landscape. We feel privileged to have travelled there at this time.
Most Inspirational Moment
Reaching the summit on the last day; 5 switchbacks in 30 degree heat. The view was worth it ! Great company and brilliant tour leader.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Erlis was amazing. Really welcoming and very well organised as well as being informative and helpful. He is a great tour leader with a lovely sense of humour. You would be lucky to get him.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Take plenty of suncream, seriously consider an electric bike, don't take too many snacks as they are provided, take earplugs as the Albanian dog howling committee comes out in force at night.

Paths of Puglia & Matera - Premium Adventure
We were in expert, caring hands with Ioana, whose guidance, knowledge and advice ensured a wonderful holiday.,
Most Inspirational Moment
Matera has to be the highlight, but getting trulli trollied in an Alberrabello trulli will live long in the memory. We loved the walk to the beach and the swim in the clear aquamarine waters before a sumptuous fish lunch. Beautiful Ostuni, although as already mentioned more time here to appreciate the culture of the town would have been welcomed.
Thoughts on Group Leader
So caring, so patient, so welcoming. Her regional knowledge and love for her homeland did much to make this holiday so memorable. With a locality that has been inhabited continuously for over 9000 years it is rather good to have a guide that has a degree in archeology and anthropology.

Just returned from 11 days in the beautiful Balkans with 16 other great people making up the tour group. The itinerary was well planned, considered and delivered and gave me a greater insight into this part of the world I had longed to visit. The range of landscapes and cityscapes we journeyed to and through were breathtaking with enough guided and free time to learn, explore and absorb.
Most Inspirational Moment
One of the standout experiences was the visit to the home of a family in the village of Podgora. We were offered the most delicious lunch, most if not all sourced from their land. Their hospitality was so warm and welcoming. The city tour of Sarajevo with guide Alem was really interesting and his delivery was superb as was our tour of Kotor and Cetinje with the fabulous Ivana.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Fatima was the most wonderful guide to us from start to finish. From the depth of her historical/social/ political knowledge of the places we visited to her care and compassion towards us was above and beyond. She clearly loves her role and we enjoyed the enthusiasm, humour and smiles she bought to each day. The world needs more Fatima’s!!!
Advice for Potential Travellers
Be prepared for some quite long coach journeys but you are certainly rewarded with stunning scenery. Our morning trip to Durmitor National Park with walks around the black lake -you’ll find a toilet block at the beginning of the walk with a wooden decked path up to it. This decking was very slippery on our visit. It had been raining the night before. So perhaps under similar weather conditions it would be safer to use the toilet in the adjacent cafe.
