An exceptional holiday with world-class walking, outstanding guides and authentic local culture!
Exploring the region on foot gave us a mix of dramatic coastlines, world-famous historic sites, and genuine Italian warmth.
Our guide for the week Paolo Longo brought the coastal trails to life with rich local knowledge and expertly tailored pacing across every hike.
Expert local guides at Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius made the history and geology truly captivating.
Hotel Due Torri (Agerola) was the perfect base high above the coast. The owners (both Chefs) held interactive pizza and pasta making sessions and demonstrated how to make the perfect tiramisu, with a special local delicacies lunch and a lively barbecue night.
Couldn’t recommend the whole experience highly enough.
Positano
Positano Trips
Greek legend says Poseidon, god of the sea, created Positano as a gift for Pasitea, a nymph he had fallen in love with. The beauty of this cliffside village on Italy’s Amalfi Coast is certainly worthy of the immortals − travellers have flocked here for centuries to explore the sun-drenched coastlines, picture-perfect streets and wisteria-draped properties.
This small jewel is bound to impress, with pink and peach terracotta houses and steep streets dotted with eateries and some of the most fashionable retailers in the Campania region. But you’ll also find there’s a wealth to discover on the outskirts of town whether on foot or by bike on our Positano holidays.
On our Highlights of the Amalfi Coast trip, you can explore the narrow alleyways and sun-filled piazzas of Amalfi, visiting the large cathedral before hopping on a fast boat to Positano. Taking in the vertical town views and shimmering turquoise coastlines will leave an indelible imprint on your memory, as you dock to explore this chic town for a couple of hours on foot. Find another Positano tour on our Amalfi Coast Family Adventure. Before learning how to whip up the perfect neapolitan pizza in Amalfi, enjoy exploring Positano, visiting the Byzantine Church of Saint Mary of the Assumption, or taking a refreshing dip on one of the world’s most iconic beaches, the Spiaggia Grande, before returning to Bomerano.
If you’re looking to explore more of the area on foot, our Walking the Amalfi Coast trip gives you the perfect opportunity to discover more of this picturesque town. It takes you past ancient stone houses and local shepherd huts along the Sentiero degli Dei (Path of the Gods), before descending into Positano. Or, if you’d like to discover the region on two wheels, our Cycle Cilento & the Amalfi Coast trip includes a fantastic Positano tour, taking you along the scenic Strada Amalfitana towards the pastel-coloured towns of Amalfi, Praino and Positano, with beautiful views over the whole peninsula and out to the enchanting island of Capri.

Elaine O'Sullivan Walking The Amalfi Coast – Summer Edition
Anne L Walking The Amalfi Coast – Summer EditionGreat way to see the highlights of the Amalfi Coast. Absolutely stunning views and rich in history and culture. I would not classify this tour as “easy” however. I consider myself an athletic person and the amount of steps involved were incredible, and majority of steps were in rough shape that you really had to watch your step for fearing of falling or injuring yourself. Liked having one home base of the hotel for the week, except each day we needed to travel at least 30 min-1.5 hour to get anywhere, which lessened the day, not to mention in that sweltering heat most of the time the AC in the van did not appear to reach the back areas of the van. I felt I needed more ‘structured’ time – the free time was too much when I was in an area that I knew nothing of and did not know what to do with myself. I did not come to Italy to shop.
Sasha Andrews Amalfi Coast Family AdventureAn excellent family adventure that combines the best of the Amalfi Coast with authentic local experiences, active outings and time to relax. From swimming and boat trips to a memorable traditional lunch in the hills, there was something for every age. As an Exodus employee travelling as a guest, I was impressed by how well the trip balanced family fun, local culture and the stunning scenery of southern Italy.
