Walk with a local guide along ancient copper trails, taking the chance to bake arbood bread, the staple of shepherds. Alternatively, join a shepherd, tracing his route across the desert with his goats, sharing fire-cooked bread and tea beneath the open sky.

Head north after lunch, pausing at the Museum at the Lowest Place on Earth and the Wadi Mujib viewpoint, where the land drops to the shimmering Dead Sea.
