Exodus policy on Travel Advice & Travel Safety

We know that the world can be an unstable place, and it can be hard for travellers to know where is safe to travel to at any specific point in time.

Fortunately, it’s been Exodus’ long-standing policy to use the detailed advice for travellers provided by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) as our number one point of reference on travel safety.

As well as including detailed and regularly updated advice or warnings for travellers, they also maintain an Overall Level of Advice for each country, including (where needed) advising against all travel or advising against all but essential travel. As soon as an “advise against all but essential travel” advisory (shown as amber areas on the map view) is in place, Exodus will avoid operating in that region or country, either by cancelling or re-routing trips.

We monitor the UK FCDO website for changes or updates on a daily basis, and are ready to react should we need to change or cancel trips for customers travelling in the immediate future.

If your destination is affected, we will contact you to explain the changes and what it means for your booking. If the trip can no longer safely operate, we will ensure you are offered the chance to change dates, change destinations, or if needed, request a full refund.

If the FCDO is not advising against travel to your destination, you can be sure that it’s safe to travel, and if any changes are needed, we will be in touch to explain them. If you no longer wish to travel to one of these destinations, you should be aware that standard cancellation fees will apply, as laid out in our Booking Terms and Conditions.

While we use the UK FCDO to make our own operational decisions. Customers of other nationalities should also refer to the Travel Advice issued by their own governments.

Final decisions to travel or not, are always a personal choice.
