Mt Toubkall Climb

The trip was great. It was an excellent opportunity to learn new and interesting county with its customs and culture.

Most Inspirational Moment

Mountains, beautiful views. The originality of food. Nice, kind people.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Our leader was great! Hamid did everything we need. He intervened our teenagers, plays games with them. It was fun. He knows mountains inside and out. I would go with him to the mountains again. The big thanks to him!

Advice for Potential Travellers

I would travel next time in spring or autumn. It was really hot. Personally I prefer cool mountains: it is easier to hike. I took water for drinking from rivers in mountains. Water is very clean there. The rest of the group bought water every day from local shops or people. There weren't any mosquitoes. I'm very sensitive to mosquitoes. So I was happy not to have them there.

Great trip

Excellent holiday with beautiful scenary and staying in a lovely agriturismo which was a home from home

Most Inspirational Moment

Glorious mountain walks to Monte Prado and Pania de Croce

Thoughts on Group Leader

Liz surpassed my expectations of a group leader and made the trip unforgettable

Excellent Tour de Mont Blanc Camping Trip

Have to say this was an excellent trip, exceeded my expectations. Beautiful scenery, great views of the mountains, met a great bunch of people from all walks of life.

Most Inspirational Moment

Getting up to Grand Col Ferret on day 5 and up to Brevent on the last walking day, a 1500m ascent with spectacular views when the clouds cleared, a great finish to our trip.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Heather was an excellent group leader, got us all safely up and down the mountains on a daily basis. On the last day she carried a bottle of champagne up to Brevent which we all enjoyed after a long slog to the top, a nice touch. Neil cooked delicious meals for us in the evening.

Advice for Potential Travellers

It is a challenging trip, most days have ascents of 1,000m and similar descents. The last day's ascent of 1,500m is a tough walk but worth it.

Breathtakingly beautiful.

Que de beauté! C’est fatigant, certes, mais il y a des merveilles à contempler tous les jours.

Most Inspirational Moment

Just passing the time of day with the toothless old man in his flower garden next to the beautiful baroque Church of Notre Dame de la Gorge.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Lotte was a truly remarkable person. Charlie was indefatigably well-organised. They made an absolutely excellent team.

Rodopi Mtns

A very good holiday with good mix of people

Most Inspirational Moment

Every day in the mountains was great

Thoughts on Group Leader

svetoslava was a very cheerful and a caring leader. she ought to have got us to introduce us to each other on first night and to our very good bus driver. Also to have got us to exchange e.mails before we left. We left at different times so was a little difficult.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Just to order a brochure!

Mont Blanc Highlights July 2015

An amazingly well organized week in stunning surroundings of Chamonix, definitely worth every penny. Enjoyed the chalet, the company, the hikes and the catering + free time in the alpine village – recommendable to all fit enough for the ascents and descents 😉

Most Inspirational Moment

Being up in the mountains, after the struggle of getting up there during the mornings! Lots of steep slopes, enjoyed it!

Thoughts on Group Leader

A very well prepared and competent person with the ability of creating a pleasant holiday for all age participants; Mr. Hutchinson was certainly up to the task of bringing the group of very different hikers to the most astounding scenery available around Mont Blanc - regarding the fact that the days were long and also demanding physically. He encouraged and helped us also when struggling with blisters and all sorts of little nuisances, I was surprised of his dedication and continuous presence during the whole week.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Get ready for serious hiking - good shoes and socks, enough training before your trip, and you'll enjoy and get the best out of it!

They took care of everything and more!

I can’t evaluate other tour companies but I can say unequivocally that Exodus had no flaws in their services. Meals were delicious and excellently presented. The porters worked so hard for us. One member of our group had some medical issues but our leader was cool and prepared. I would choose them again without hesitation.

Most Inspirational Moment

Our goal (Machu Picchu) obviously was a high point but the mountain-scape en route left me in awe of the Andes. The scenery was simply spectacular at all turns.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Our leader was "Tomas". He really did take care of each of us from the moment we stepped off the plan in Cusco. On bus tours, in the hotel lobby (everywhere) he was on the phone making arrangements for us. He had lots of local contacts for tours. On the trail he was constantly in radio touch with his crew. He never pushed us too hard and was genuinely concerned when it got dark or when someone in our party was seriously ailing -- he exuded confidence that he would get us through any difficulty. His knowledge of the history of the area made it all interesting. He took time to get to know each of us personally and at lunches, he was informative but mostly just became "one of the group". He took plenty of time to socialize with us "outside of hours" in Cusco. I cannot imagine anyone doing a finer job than Tomas!

Advice for Potential Travellers

Although rain might be rare, we encountered it and although we had cheap ponchos, some rain pants would have made sure we didn't get too chilled. Back up cameras: ours crapped out the first day. Good thing we had some others in our group that could take over our picture needs. Exodus provided plenty of food....no real need for lots of extra snacks.

Dalmatian Coast

Overall I thought the trip was good and well organized. The small tour group size was perfect.
I loved Croatia , it was beautiful.

I think there are things that could be done to improve the trip:

1. Tour guide for the major cities/stops: We had no tour or tour guide for Split and it would have been helpful.
The tour leader is NOT a tour guide. He just gave us maps and then we were on our own.

2. Hotels were all clean and nice except for the one in Dubrovnik. Its outdated and need to be renovated.

Most Inspirational Moment

Loved walking the city walls in Dubrovnik.

Thoughts on Group Leader

He was very nice and got us from point A to point B every time. I think he could have shared more about the country's history while we were on the boat, bus, etc. That is the point of having a local tour leader.

Highlights of the Dolomites

Excellent walking experience – choice of hotel disappointing.

Most Inspirational Moment

The first beer after each walk! The Dolomites provides the opportunity to walk all day & look back at what you have achieved. tremendous.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Albert was excellent at setting expectations of the route ahead & controlling a steady pace. clearly very experienced.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Budget more for lunches at refuges, travel locally & evenings.

Tour due Mont Blanc - Camping

This trip lived up to and exceeded my expectations. The TMB is a fantastic walk but would not have been such a wonderful experience had I not found myself part of a great group with a superb leader and back-up. The organization was excellent, we were blessed with good weather for 9/10 walking days and the views were spectacular. I was very happy I chose the camping option – the best food of the trip was definitely in the mess tent and most of the campsites were beautifully located.

Most Inspirational Moment

Reaching the top of Le Brevent 2,525m and knowing that we had all completed the TMB with no injuries or mishaps. The champagne carried by up by Heather was a bonus!

Thoughts on Group Leader

In my opinion Heather is an inspirational leader, extremely fit and knowledgeable she handled our diverse group well and ensured the trip was a success for all. Mention must also be made of Neil - our back up - who seemed to be able to achieve miracles within the confines of a camp kitchen.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Be prepared for challenges - 1,120m vertical ascent on the 2nd day of walking was hard, especially the heat. Oh and if you can: take crash course in packing away a Quechua tent - they may be easy to erect but dismantling definitely isn't easy. Best approach is brute force - like a rugby tackle .
