Costa Rica
The country more than lived up to expectations. The emphasis on conservation provided some memorable moments. Hotels and lodges were above average and those with pools were a bonus after a long day of enjoyment.
Most Inspirational Moment
Watching a green turtle lay her eggs and then following her back to the sea. Lump in throat as she caught the wave and returned to her environment!
Thoughts on Group Leader
Gustavo was an enthusiastic and patient leader, ensuring we all enjoyed views of distant wildlife through his scope. He and our driver Erick worked hard to ensure our days were as carefree as possible.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Don't worry about the water! What comes out of the taps is safe to drink and eating salads was a novelty on this type of holiday. The water coming down is a different matter. Carry a waterproof at ALL times and keep your fingers crossed that you won't need it.

Fab holiday, lovely group and leaders.
Most Inspirational Moment
Meeting the leader and his story inspired me.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Fab, inspirational in what he does. I might have to try the walking in the Dolomites now!

La Cote d'Azur est tres belle
This was my first walking holiday and I really enjoyed it. The Riviera is beautiful. The walks along the spectacular coastline, up in the hills and through the seemingly timeless villages were all excellent. It’s hard to believe that some people live there all the time. The other people on the holiday were all nice and friendly, so I should not have worried before booking.
Most Inspirational Moment
Probably Roquebrune but it was all good. On Saturday morning in Menton I saw Chris Froome, Tour de France winner.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Sandrine is a great guide. She has lots of knowledge of the region, was always friendly and cheerful and was always well organised. I like her taste in coffee.
Advice for Potential Travellers
I got a few insect bites but insects love me, so others might have no problems.

There are some long drives but the scenery is awesome and we were fortunate getting day after day of warm sunshine.
Most Inspirational Moment
There were several. Seeing El Capitan and Half Dome again after 33 years. Climbing to Angels Landing in Zion NP.
Seeing the Hoodoos at Bryce Canyon. The Navajo experience at Monument Valley and descending to Plateau Point in the incomparable Grand Canyon.
Thoughts on Group Leader
We had a different leader each week. Both of them were very good.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Be prepared for some long days travelling and carry plenty of water. Eating out is a great pleasure but allow for the 18%tips.

Annapurna Sanctuary, the enjoyable way !
Fantastic trek with amazing contrasts in scenery; jungle and monkeys to the high mountains in only a few days. Nice pace to each day that ensured that the altitude increase was never a problem. Superb Exodus Leader and wonderful Guides and Porters made the trek a truly memorable experience.
Most Inspirational Moment
Reaching ABC , Annapurna Base Camp on a clear, crisp day with the panorama of the Sanctuary laid out before us was amazing. To achieve this in the company of a lovely group of like minded people made it all the more special.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Great Guy, so passionate about his country and the people. Always on hand to share his knowledge of the mountains, the animals , the plants and the culture and always looking out for the safety of the clients. Added to this was the humour and when encouraged some great singing !
Advice for Potential Travellers
Don't be put off by the situation in Nepal post Earthquake - get out there and have a great time but also help the country recover by spending some money.

Beautiful scenery, amazing architecture, tasty food, great cycling.
This was one of the better cycling trips I have done. Cycling was challenging only 1 or 2 days. We cycled through some amazing scenery. The architecture in several of the towns, especially Modica, was extraordinary. Some hotels were better than others, but that is what to expect on an Exodus trip. And it goes without saying that the food, especially the seafood and deserts, was yummy!
Most Inspirational Moment
Reaching the most southern tip of Sicily, and putting my left foot in the Mediterranean, and right foot in the Ionean Sea. It is my Facebook cover page, and the wallpaper on my computer at work.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Our guide Thomas was so thorough, organized, and especially caring of all travelers. He encouraged the less experienced cyclists as they struggled up the hills. Any request was looked into and honored.
Advice for Potential Travellers
BRING BUG REPELLENT! The mosquitos are relentless, and they are everywhere, even in the larger cities like Catania. If you have extra days in the beginning or end, visit Taormina.

Once in a lifetime trip
From the start our guide was informative and prepared us for the Inca Trail. The Sacred Valley trip was worth doing the day before the trek started too. The porters were always at hand, we were looked after incredibly well with fresh food and enough to keep energy levels up. The scenery was stunning and worth the trek to Machu Picchu. All along the way our guide gave us information on the plants, area and ruins we passed through. At times, when the altitude made walking up steep paths more difficult, we could take our time without any pressure.
Most Inspirational Moment
Reaching Dead Womans Pass on day 2 in the cloud and the moment you reach the end of your journey at the Sun Gate.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Supportive, patient guide with a supreme amount of local knowledge. What was also important was his humour and ability to converse with the rest of the group at meal times. Couldn't have asked for a better guide.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Give yourself a few days to acclimatise before embarking on the trek. Boiled sweets (not necessarily the Coca ones) definitely helped along the trek. A metallic water bottle doubled up as a hot water bottle at night!

Walking the Amalfi Coast
Though the weather was not great the quality of the itinerary, flexibility and the people I had a great holiday.
Most Inspirational Moment
Going up versuvius in gale force winds!
Thoughts on Group Leader
Good though lack of Italian language skills meant did not benefit fully from local environment.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Just that it is a varied holiday with something for everyone. Just prepare for rain if going in October!

Walking in the Picos de Europa
An excellent weeks walking in the Picos. The scenery is stunning, and the walks are long/hard enough to make you feel that you have done something, but by no means heroic.
The hotel (HotelTorrecerrado) is a small family run hotel – you will get a warm friendly welcome from Jim and Pilar, and the food – particularly the dinners – is definitely 5 star ! If you are luccky, Jim will regale you with Amazing Tales in the bar after dinner !
Most Inspirational Moment
The sight of Griffin Vultures flying so close to us on the summit of Pandescura.
Walking up to the village of Bulnes on the free day.
The Cares Gorge in the pouring rain ! Amazingly atmospheric
Thoughts on Group Leader
Alvaro - amazing leader. Very mountain wise, excellent local knowledge, fantastic sense of humour. His relaxed still of managing the group was much appreciated - everyone appreciated him.
Advice for Potential Travellers
If you are going walking to lose weight, this is probably not the trip for you ! Jim and Pilar's cooking more than makes up for the calories you might have lost through walking !

Cycling Rajasthan
A great mixture of cycling and sight seeing. A great deal was packed in so not one for those wanting a relaxing holiday. Once again Exodus combine well planned routes, great support and ethical tourism (which is wht=y so many of us come back!).
Most Inspirational Moment
There was more than one! The Taj Mahal, the fort at Kumbhalgarh, Pushkar (if you stay off the special Lassi's!!) but above all the assault on the senses that is the cmlexity of India.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Our leader, Anand Kapil worked his socks off to make sure we got the very best from this trip. He was really well supported by Sunil and the 'boys' (cycle mechanic and the drivers). Top marks to Anand and the team!
Advice for Potential Travellers
If you like some cycling and sightseeing, then include this tri on your list. It is moderate for cycling (but you can burn the calories) but action packed given the itneery. You will come away with a real feel for what makes Rajasthan tick!
