Take a river cruise for close-up views of the spectacular Neo-Gothic Parliament building on the waterfront, and Budapest trips should include a visit to the Great Market Hall.

As well as being Hungary‘s capital, Budapest is also an ancient spa town, so spending a morning or afternoon soaking in hot healing waters is a traditional pastime for locals. In recent years, the city has become famous for its ruin bars, and there’s a burgeoning gastronomic scene here too.
