Everything was perfect about this trip. Hicham was the perfect guide, extremely knowledgeable and understood the group dynamics perfectly. Hotels were excellent, locations and trips were fantastic. Our driver Said was great and extremely helpful. I have already recommended the trip to my friends down the gym.

Hicham was awesome.
A very well organised trip with fantastic guide and driver who showed us how wonderful Costa Rica is .
Staying in La Laguna in Tortoguero and exploring by boat. But every place we visited had something special to offer.
Miguel is fantastically knowledgeable about the wildlife, especially birds. He also gave lots of info about the history and culture of his country. He had to deal with some difficulties in the group which was very stressful for him but he was patient and kind throughout.
From booking the holiday until its completion everything went smoothly and the holiday fulfilled my expectations..
Visiting the elephant orphanage and going on safari to see elephants in the their natural habitat. Also visiting villages and interacting with local people. Discovering the history and culture of Sri Lanka.
Parthap was an exceptional guide from beginning to end. He was knowledgeable and passionate about his country and went over and above to ensure that all members of the group fully enjoyed their experience of Sri Lanka. Parthap was always available to answer questions, give advice on things to do during any free time and his command of English made it easy for everyone to understand. His management of the tour ensured that we were able to relax and enjoy the whole experience knowing that we were in safe hands. We feel that he is an asset to Exodus.
Good balance of activities. Some earlier starts balanced by some earlier finishes. We benefitted by using Open Street Map app which encouraged Doug and I to explore around hotels when we didn’t want to “relax by the pool”. In Nuwara Eliya the wlk up One Tree Mountain behind the hotel and the temple you see on the way particularly reccommended. Maybe it would be useful to other guests to suggest this or provide a map? Loved the lunch stops eg under the banyan tree and the Yummy Hotel.
So many! Dambulla cave temples, Sigiriya Rock, Polonnaruwa. Elephants - both on the safari and the Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home. The birds seen on walks and cycle rides. Lunches under Banyan Tree, and Yummy Hotel and the other 2 family restaurants Roshan took us to near Polonnaruwa and in Kandy.
Roshan was friendly, approachable and generous with his time. He was very knowledgeable, pointing out plants, birds etc whenever on walks and cycles. On longer bus journeys he gave very well-prepared and interesting talks on Sri Lankan history, politics, social customs, water management and was very willing to take questions. He kept everything running smoothly and apparently effortlessly.
My first trip with Exodus. Organisation, itinerary, group leader and transport all excellent.
The Tour Leader (Glenda Arafat) was exceptional in every respect. Tortuguero, Monteverdi, Dominical and the Savegre Cloud forest were the more memorable locations we visited (but all were good)
Exceptional! Glenda was simply the best overall tour leader I have ever met - very personable, empathetic, enthusiastic, incredibly knowledgeable, highly organised and always there when she was needed. Her knowledge of the birds/plants etc was incredible. She invariably ‘went the extra mile’ for us (she was out buying bottled water for us when the water supply was cut off in the Balmoral Hotel). We were truly blessed to have Glenda as our leader. She made the trip.
This was a wonderful journey through beautiful Kerala and Tamil Nadu…so bright, so colourful, so vibrant. We had such amazing experiences, from strolling through the streets of Fort Kochi, to trekking through the beautiful tea plantations of Munnar and seeing elephants in the mist of an early morning walk at Periyar. We learnt so much about Hindu culture from our lovely guide Biju, and visited some beautiful temples along the way…a real highlight of the trip.
I loved the contrasts between vibrant buzzy cities, with thrilling tuk tuk rides, and the peaceful backwaters of Alleppey…drifting along the tranquil waters watching Kingfishers and Egrets. Just lovely.
I would thoroughly recommend this tour of the Tropical South.
Every day was inspiring, not least because of the warmth and friendliness of the people we met along the way. I particularly loved the early morning walk in Madurai, seeing the women washing and decorating their doorsteps and getting the chance to feed the cows! Another highlight was the visit to the Mannarasala temple…we were so lucky to see the baby weighing ceremony…that felt very special. And for high octane thrills it had to be the amazing Martial Arts show…an unexpected delight!
Biju was just wonderful as our group leader. He really is in a class of his own…every day he went above and beyond to make sure we got the very best experience. I have never had a guide as good as him…he is a tremendous asset for Exodus. Thanks Biju!!
Some of the journeys are long, but the coach was very comfortable…I would recommend plugging yourself into your favourite music and watching everything unfold out of the window…the ever changing landscapes were very rewarding… Also…always carry loo roll!
Fabulous guide and a great group
The boat trips were great but the absolute highlight for me was sunrise at Angkor wat. Fila found us the perfect place to sit
Fila was wonderful! Thoughtful, engaging, knowledgeable, lots of different things pointed out eg about the food, local customs, he spoke to local people and translated what they said, etc. we honestly couldn’t rate him more highly
Great trip; well organised. Fantastic tour leader, passionate about his country and wanting to show us the best of Sri Lanka. Skilled and friendly Driver and Assistant. Quality hotels. Excellent all round.
Tour leader, game drive/safari, coastal hotel location, Lion's Rock, Spice Garden, tea plantation....pretty much everything!
Excellent, friendly, competent, helpful and knowledgeable leader, who pitched the management, organisation and level of information sharing perfectly.
We had a wonderful time. Our guide Abdullah was excellent, and Jordan is just fascinating and beautiful.
Petra wasby far the highlight, but we enjoyed every place.
He was top notch. Very likable
A wonderful two weeks in exciting, chaotic, stimulating Rajasthan. A perfect cure for the winter blues. This trip is very busy but ensures some wonderful experiences and insights into Indian history and culture. The two days in Ranthambore provide a more tranquil setting and opportunity to spot Indian mammals and birds. Our group were not fortunate enough to see a tiger but we did see a sloth bear and lots of other wildlife in a beautiful setting.
Being in India provides all the inspiration you could possibly want - the colours, the noise, the food, the architecture, the people, the traffic, etc. This trip gives you the chance to experience these at first hand. Apart from beautiful Taj Mahal, I was especially impressed with Mehrangarh Fort which was unexpectedly magnificent. Mad tuk tuk drives were great fun. The trip did sometimes feel a little rushed and more time to assimilate the experiences would have been appreciated.
Mayank is deservedly Exodus Guide of the Year. His organisational skills are amazing, especially important in such a busy trip. Inevitably we spent a lot of time travelling on the bus and Mayank took the opportunity to enthusiastically impart his remarkable knowledge about places visited and gave us an insight into many aspects of Indian life. All the restaurants Mayank recommended for dinners and lunches were excellent, often in beautiful settings. Praise should also be given to our driver, Mr Harbhajan, and helper, Mr Amit.
Exodus rate this as a leisurely trip but it is also tiring as so much is packed in, with lots of early departures - this is not a complaint just a warning. There is little down time and the group are together the majority of the time. Luckily our group gelled from get go and we enjoyed each other’s company. Plenty of opportunities to change money or visit atms. Hairdryers in all hotels on request. Some hotels seemed to ration hot water - but would flick a magic switch if asked. The kitty was a life saver as it covered most tips and took away the stress. Thoroughly recommend this trip. My only negative comment - the trip notes show a photo of a step well which is not part of the itinerary - rather a faux pas on Exodus’s part. The step well we visited in Bundi was nothing like it so a disappointment.
