Well done

I offer the following comments
First, Jenny and Mark were extraordinary tour leaders. They were thoughtful, attentive and kind. and very knowledgeable
Second, the walks were great; the scenery delightful.
Third, while I am not a coffee drinker, I heard a number of our group wish the hotel’s dining room would offer coffee/tea before the 730 am start to breakfast. some of the group awoke early and would have dearly liked a good cup of coffee, and there was none to be had. please consider.
Fourth, we started each day with a bus ride. However, the local buses were often late or the lines of riders very very long, thus delaying the start to our hikes. Please consider having a bus available for the group to start the day.

Most Inspirational Moment

some of the views of the Dolomites from trailheads or close to trailheads.

Thoughts on Group Leader

great!

Advice for Potential Travellers

As we stopped at mountain huts each day for lunch, no need to worry about carrying a lunch any day. bring good hiking poles.

Challenging and Rewarding Trek

This was my first group trek and my first multi day hike. It was absolutely gorgeous and also very challenging at times. The scenery was stunning. Every day was very long with a lot of climbing and descending which came with some extremely rewarding views. There were 10 of us in the group and we all got along great. At the end of the day we all looked forward to a shower and sitting together having a beer before dinner.

Most Inspirational Moment

On the second to last day there is a 600m vertical to climb via switchbacks. It was hot and challenging but at the top we sat and enjoyed our lunch looking out over the valley and really just soaking in what we had accomplished. Then the hike continued along a ridge between a glacier and another valley. The entire day was just soul healing from the exertion from the climb and being surrounded by the natural beauty.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Egle was exceptional. She was extremely professional and had a very strong quiet leader approach. She could answer any questions that were posed to her about the wildlife, flowers, or landscape. She really let us have the hike each of us needed.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Training for this trek is absolutely necessary. It is important to make sure you can enjoy the experience and not just get through it.

Challenging and so rewarding!

This was my first time on a group trip, and I signed up with a few friends. Loved everyone in the group, and meeting so many different people really added to my experience. The sections of the TBM are challenging and gorgeous. It is an incredible area of the world.

Most Inspirational Moment

So many, but the non-stop views, wildflowers, and wildlife spotting!

Thoughts on Group Leader

Egle was an excellent guide! I can't recommend her enough. All of us on the trip kept saying how her energy and knowledge really added to our experience.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Several of the days are straight up and then straight down, so train to be prepared for lots of elevation gain and loss. And pack light! We washed clothes in the sink each evening so we only needed two outfits.

Feedback about the tour

A very well arranged tour. Really beautiful mountains and landscapes. Some days were tough but inspiring and at the end a great sense of accomplishment and adventure.

Most Inspirational Moment

Crossing over from Switzerland into Italy over a beautiful pass and then again from Italy into France over another beautiful pass.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Eagle. A very good and knowledgeable guide. Very professional and experienced person.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Travel light and use good quality shoes.

Cycling in Sicily

The trip was excellent from start to finish. Great guide, good bikes with great gearing and the route, hotels and restaurants were well thought out.

Most Inspirational Moment

The group gelled really well and the guide was brilliant. He gave lots of interesting information and arranged for us to eat in excellent restaurants and bars. He really worked hard to create a bond between us all. The cycling was good too. The day up the mountain was hard but worth it.

Thoughts on Group Leader

He couldn't have been better. Excellent English and a great knowledge of Sicily. He recommended excellent places to eat and always worked hard to create a bond between the group. Safety on the bikes was brilliant and he always checked we rode safely and responsibly.

Hiking the Dolomites

Excellent communication and easy booking process. All questions answered in the literature and documents provided. Brilliantly organised whilst away, excellent knowledgeable guides and wonderful hiking.

Most Inspirational Moment

Too many to choose! The hikes, the views, the food and the group in general.

Thoughts on Group Leader

I couldn't fault either Jenny or Mark. Both incredibly knowledgeable and experienced. Friendly, approachable and good fun. I felt safe in their hands and became a better hiker learning from them. They organised and guided the group brilliantly throughout the week. Would love to book a further trip with them as leaders.

Wholesome experience in the Italian Apennine Mountains

Beautiful scenery (from the wilderness areas to the villages), great company and wonderful food in the Abruzzo region of the Apennines. The walks were a fantastic introduction to the area and highlighted the wide array of plants and animals, with beautiful trees and plenty of wildflowers. We spent peaceful moments watching for wildlife, spotting chamois, wild boar and a distant pack of wolves. The trip profits are donated to Rewilding Apennines to support their diverse conservation efforts which makes the experience that much better!

Most Inspirational Moment

It was wonderful to learn about the conservation efforts of the Rewilding Apennines team. It is a multi-faceted project and it was a real privilege to be shown camera trap footage of the many different rare and endangered mammal species that call the area home.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Filippo was an inspiration. He showed his passion for the region and its wildlife and ecosystems every step of the way. He has so much knowledge of the plants, animals and even the geology of the area and encouraged a sharing of our own experiences and knowledge from around the world.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Savour and enjoy the peacefulness of the whole experience while watching for rare wildlife and hopefully you will get lucky.

Essential Peru - Inti Raymi Festival Departure

Carlos our guide was exceptional, enhancing the Essential Peru trip with extensive local knowledge and clear information about the plan for each day. He was very attentive to how individuals were coping with changes in altitude – excellent support throughout. Each day was memorable. The scenery is amazing. June was a fantastic month to experience Cusco, with daily festivals. The Inti Raymi event was fabulous. More than 1000 participants delivered a stunning, colourful, rhythmical, moving display that felt authentic. We had great vantage points for the ticketed parts of the event (first and third part of the festival) with excellent commentary by our trip guide. I benefitted from adding on an extra day either side of the trip in Lima to start the trip refreshed and to wind down after. It is a full on trip with some early starts and long coach journeys but there is so much to experience in Peru I am glad the schedule is as varied and extensive as it is. So many highlights – Machu Piccu is particularly memorable but a flight over the Nazca lines (extra trip), the festival, seeing the Condors, staying with a family on Lake Titicaca all come a close second. Good food throughout for vegetarians.

Most Inspirational Moment

This felt like 3 holidays in one - the highlights kept coming!

Thoughts on Group Leader

A genuinely caring guide who took the trip to the high est possible level of enjoyment. Thank you Carlos!

Lukas was very informative, energetic and enthusiastic!

Advice for Potential Travellers

Relatively flat route and distances were not overwhelming so this trip would be a good one for those wanting to find out what a cycling tour is like. That, plust the history and scenery makes this an attractive choice.
