Over the past decade, he has hiked or run more than 12,430mi (20,000km) in mountainous terrain, crossing the Sierra Nevada, Cascade, Pyrenees, Caucasus and Lesser Caucasus, while also clocking up 620mi (1,000km) in the Andes and Alps.
