Overview

Witness the world’s largest waterfall system from every angle, seeing it from both Argentina and Brazil

Straddling the border of Argentina and Brazil, Iguazu Falls forms the world’s largest waterfall system, best appreciated from both sides. In Argentina, walkways lead above and below the cascades for close encounters with the water as it plunges toward the Garganta del Diablo. Crossing into Brazil reveals a contrasting, wide-angle view of the entire horseshoe of falls, ending near the base of Devil’s Throat. Together, these perspectives show the full force and character of this UNESCO-listed wonder.

Walkways connect the upper and lower circuit as well as the Devil’s Throat, arguably the most impressive part of the Falls as this is an area with the highest concentration of flowing water.

You have plenty of time to marvel at the Falls from different viewpoints before we return to our hotel. Today’s tour will be a shared service with other non-Exodus customers.

Iguazu Add-on Tour

Head into Brazil today to see the Falls from an entirely new angle. Passing through the visitor centre, board the internal buses that run deep into the forest, following the route towards a trail set above the Iguazu River.

Continuing, pause at viewpoints overlooking the Iguazu Canyon, Salto Rivadavia and the Tres Mosqueteros falls, where the river surges through narrow basalt cliffs.

Towards the end of the route, we reach the lower viewpoint for Devil’s Throat, just 650ft (200m) away. The constant spray here creates near-permanent rainbows, adding a little extra theatre to an already powerful scene. The visit concludes at Salto Floriano, where an elevator carries us back up to the bus area. If you prefer, you can take the footpath and climb the steps to the same meeting point.

In the afternoon, you fly to Buenos Aires, where you are met and transferred to their hotel.

Accommodation: Huinid Obelisco Hotel (or similar)

Argentina

Travellers from the UK, US and EU normally do not need a visa to enter Argentina. Please note, visa requirements often change and it is your responsibility to obtain any required visas for this trip. Therefore, we recommend that you check with the nearest embassy or consulate of your chosen destination(s), including any countries you may be transiting or transferring through.

Some local governments provide guidance on what visas their citizens need. To help, we’ve gathered a selection of useful links below.

Please note, if you are crossing the border into Argentina from Chile on your trip, we will need to know your profession to provide when entering Argentina.

Brazil

Travellers from the UK and EU do not normally need a visa to enter Brazil.

From 10 April 2025, US, Canadian and Australian passport holders require an e-visa. It is recommended to apply for your e-visa two months before travel to Brazil. Information on visas can be found here: https://www.gov.br/mre/pt-br/consulado-miami/information-about-visas-in-english. The e-visa application site is here: https://brazil.vfsevisa.com/.

Hotel breakfasts are normally buffets. There is a variety of good-quality food on offer in local restaurants. Please advise us at the time of booking if you have any special dietary requirements. Vegetarians are catered for throughout the trip, but please ensure that you advise us before you travel so that we can make the necessary arrangements on your behalf.

Since Argentina is in the southern hemisphere, the seasons there are the opposite to those in Europe. Our trips to Argentina are organised between October and April (their summertime). Iguazu Falls is located in a subtropical rainforest environment. The average daytime temperature is 31C-33C (88F-91F), nights average 19C-20C (65F-67F). It is mostly sunny, hot and humid; however, rains are common in spring and summer.

As a certified B Corp, we’re on a mission to improve our social and environmental impact across all our adventures.

We do this through our innovative Thriving Nature, Thriving People plan.

This ‘nature positive’ approach is designed to help nature and communities thrive in harmony through practical solutions, such as reducing carbon and waste on our trips, supporting conservation projects through the Exodus Adventure Travels Foundation, and rewilding 100 square metres for every Exodus traveller.
