Seeing the quetzal at the amazing Savegre lodge along with the beautiful humming bords, and also Drakes Bay Wilderness Lodge with the boat trips, snorkelling and Friendly staff
Alejandro was a perfect gentleman. He was knowledgeable about all areas of Costa Rica. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he looked after us amazingly well from the moment we met him at the airport till the time for us to leave.

Seeing sloths and all the birds. I loved being up in the cloud forest and Corcovado was super - the snorkelling was magical as we saw turtles and sharks
Guillermo was extremely knowledgeable both about the country and cultural and historical aspects as well as a wildlife spotted and expert. He was extremely organised and clear about what and when we were doing things. He used whats app really effectively.
Amazing country, wildlife, experience, guide, bus driver and enjoyable accommodation. It was a wonderful experience. The trip notes were really helpful and it really couldn’t have been any easier. A very special holiday.

The holiday was amazing and very well run by Johnny. Johnny has extensive knowledge of the animals, birds, geography and history. It showed Costa Rica at it best.

Johnny was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and very good in a crisis when one of our party was ill. His time keeping was excellent and he always made the outing interesting and full of sightings of wildlife. He added details about the history and geography of the different areas.
From steamy Tortoguero, with the howler monkeys waking us up at 5.00am (no need for an alarm!) to cool, mountainous Savegre thronging with hummingbirds, this was a tour of contrasting habitats each with their own variety of wildlife, plants and flowers. In addition to the wildlife elements of the tour, visits to the Aquiares coffee factory and CAITE research centre were incredibly interesting. The optional visit to the Bri Bri community was well worth it; we learned all about how chocolate is made from scratch and had great fun trying each part of the process.
While there were some longer travel days, they were well paced, never felt too onerous and we often saw interesting things en route. The boat trips were fantastic- just getting to Tortoguero and to Drake Bay were experiences in themselves, with opportunity to see lot of wildlife on the way. The snorkelling trip was amazing- we were able to swim above sea turtles, rays and amongst lots of colourful fish. Even if you don’t snorkel, the boat trip was worth doing- we saw a pod of humpback whales quite close to the boat, and a variety of birds.
The accommodation was comfortable and in all the hotel grounds we were able to spot a variety of wildlife- great for photographers who enjoy having a camera/phone in one hand and a ‘sundowner’ in the other!
A memory I will cherish occurred in Corcovado national park. I was cricking my neck to photograph some noisy spider monkeys swinging around high in the trees above us, when I heard our guide whisper 'don't move'. I looked down and saw a coati by my feet, as oblivious to me as I was to her. She was part of a small group and we avidly watched them foraging around us for quite a while- it was a wonderful experience!
Adriana was excellent and I can't praise her highly enough. She was knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, patient with all our questions, and also had a great sense of humour! Her experience showed; she was always organised and on time and I know she must have worked very hard in the background to make sure everything ran as smoothly as possible. She was relaxed and her pace was good which allowed plenty of time for spotting wildlife. Adriana worked very well with our driver Andres who was also very kind and helpful.
It's worth going a day or so earlier if you can to give yourself time to acclimatise. There are some good museums in San Jose, or you can chill out at one of the hotels- we stayed at the Bougainvillea which has extensive botanical gardens with a variety of wildlife.
The itinerary was very well organised with an excellent selection of locations to visit. The guide, Pablo and the driver, Oscar were both outstanding. My expectations were exceeded.
The national parks around Drake's Bay were outstanding but each park brought something different and enjoyable to see. I saw all the wildlife I was hoping to see.
Pablo was superb. He worked tirelessly to ensure that the group has a fantastic experience. He was professional and appropriately friendly. I was particularly impressed with his attention to health and safety. He was very careful to alert us to all risks and to advise us of what precautions to take. He was very interesting to talk to and answered our questions about his country very fully. He was great at finding and identifying wildlife.
We have just returned from our 10th trip and we have always found the admin staff to be very helpful when booking and making enquires,. The trip leaders themselves have been there from start of day 1 when arriving at the airport and seem to have excellent knowledge when asking questions and go out of there way to be extremely helpful.

All the arrangements worked well, the tour was everything we expected and more, the Tour guide and driver were really lovely, helpful and knowledgeable. We were lucky enough to have a small group, all of whom were really friendly. The itinerary and things we saw/visited were varied and lived up to our expectations.

Adrianna was very knowledgeable, helpful and an asset to our group. She was happy to be flexible with arrangements particularly if we saw animals etc and wanted to stay longer. She also booked restaurants for us as a group as requested and joined us on many occasions. She is a lovely person with a lovely personality and suited our tour very well. We also enjoyed the fact that when we saw ie whales and other unusual sightings, she was as excited and enthusiastic as we were.
The whole trip was excellant and i particularly enjoyed the variety of locations. Our guide went above and beyond to ensure we had the best possible experience

Enjoyed seeing birds and animals, rain forest, snorkeling and learning about Costa Rican culture. Some accommodations and provided meals were less desirable than others but always adequate.

Alejandro Rodriquez was an exceptional guide. Skilled with group management as well as, finding and identifying wildlife. His personality was thoughtful, entertaining, and encouraging. All of our needs were met in a timely fashion and any needed information was always at our finger tips via What's App.
