Highlights of Morocco

very varied holiday that met the brief to see highlights of Morocco. Excellent guide & driver

Most Inspirational Moment

High Atlas Mountains & Essaouira

Thoughts on Group Leader

He is very proud of his country, its customs and people and keen to share a lot of information with the group. He is well organised and friendly. He did not eat with the group, as some leaders do, but ensured we understood the menus, could order and translated when necessary to clarify a special request. He provided a lot of useful information for our free days, including recommended restaurants and places of interest.

Highlights of Morocco

Moroccan highlights was my 3rd holiday with exodus and they have all been brilliant.

Most Inspirational Moment

Staying in the high Atlas Mountains with amazing view from the terrace, and a few hours trek which I wanted to go for longer! Sitting in the sand dunes watching the sun rise so beautiful and peaceful. Swimming in the Atlantic and an amazing sunset with camels and horses racing along the sand. And our guide Jamal.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Through Jamal I really got to know and understand the history of Morocco, the people and the culture. He worked so hard for us and always with a smile and a great sense of humour.

Bucket List Trip

This tour really had it all in terms of a broad range of experiences that took you from the mountains to the coast to the desert and so much in between. Everyday brought something interesting to experience, photograph and talk about with fellow travellers. There were 13 travellers in our van, and that was a large enough group! Most of the accommodations were fine. We very much enjoyed dinners at the riads and the family home. It was an awesome and inspiring trip that brought a deeper appreciation of a Muslim country. Every sense was engaged! We found the people warm, welcoming, and kind. It is not likely that we will return (given that there are numerous bucket list countries yet to visit), and this trip felt like it truly satisfied our curiosity.

Most Inspirational Moment

One of the most inspiring moments was seeing the Sahara desert; the abrupt change in the land to massive dunes was mind boggling. It is hard to pick out just one inspiring moment as everyday seemed to bring forth something. The way every sense was engaged was inspiring!

Thoughts on Group Leader

Our group leader was amazing. He had tremendous patience and maintained composure, flexibility, and kindness without fail. Muhammad deserves recognition for his role in making this trip fabulous. He was very open and willing to answer every question. He was very proud of his country, and it showed. We found that inspiring.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Pay attention to the trip notes!! They were right on. Take a pair of flip flops. We found that a T-shirt or tank top with a linen over shirt worked the best. Loose fitting pants for hot days riding in the van are a must. A pashmina/shawl was the best thing I packed. Travel with carryon if you can; we were glad we did! Bring a reusable water bottle for sure!!! We forgot and regretted it. Exodus provided water, which was great. Respect the customs of the country, and use the advice of the leader.

Highlights of Morocco

The immersive experiences exceeded my expectations. Muhammad, our Guide, was excellent at sharing knowledge, culture, history, providing cultural awareness around our movements/behaviours and remaining involved and engaged with all of us. We felt safe, happy and able to see and do things far beyond what we could organize on our own.

Most Inspirational Moment

Also, we purchased some items at the Fez tannery and a rug at the High Atlas womans cooperative. I especially loved my time at the cooperative. The tour of the ceramic cooperative was a bit too high pressure sales which felt out of synch with the rest of our trip. The food was wonderful! And the tea too. Muhammad always made sure we had plenty of water. I don't eat bread normally so that was a change in my diet, especially in the morning.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Mohammed is kind, authentic, smart, informed and funny. He represented the country and culture extremely well.

Highlights of Morocco

The guide (Mahommad) was fantastic. Extremely informative and caring. Very professional and an excellent risk manager. You have an amazing resource there. The driver (also Mahommad) was a pro. I sat near him the entire trip and saw how he managed the vehicle and passenger safety (and comfort). Again, a true pro. Rare.

Most Inspirational Moment

Meeting the children in the mountain villages. See the architecture. Learning about the culture and history.

Thoughts on Group Leader

If I could hire this man to work at my company in Canada, I would. He is exceptional. I very much appreciated how he took care of my, my wife, and my family that were on the trip with us.

Highlights of Morocco trip

Trip was very good—a lot of driving but we got to see a lot of the country.

Most Inspirational Moment

Our camel ride; the Roman ruins; Rabat, Essouaira, the Atlas Mountains—impossible to pick just one.

Thoughts on Group Leader

We were so fortunate to have Mohamed as our tour guide. He was perfect in every way, looking after us in every detail for our comfort and safety. He was so well organized, but above all so kind. Cannot recommend him highly enough!

Advice for Potential Travellers

Be aware that on this trip the accommodations leave a lot to be desired in terms of convenience and functionality. The weakest part of the trip.

A fabulous trip to Morocco

The trip gave us a superb introduction to Morocco blending cities with desert and mountain locations.

Most Inspirational Moment

I enjoying the sunrise camel ride and the chance to meet a Berber family in their own home.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Khaled was an excellent leader and a first rate ambassador for his country. He planned extra activities to enhance our experience such as a city tour of Rabat for the group and a visit to an oasis. Khaled selected some excellent city guides for us especially our guide in Meknes.I enjoyed the range of restaurants he chose and the entertainment some offered. He was always pleasant, friendly and engaging and had a can do attitude. I would be absolutely delighted to find he was our leader on another trip. Mention must be made of Ishmael too who was an extremely careful driver and always pleasant and helpful in any way he could be. They were an ideal duo for our trip.

Advice for Potential Travellers

An excellent trip as a first introduction to Morocco. The only disappointment was the hotels. At times they were well out of the centres and very basic indeed. For example in Essaouira the trip notes said the hotel was in the heart of the medina. In fact it was a good 40-50 minute walk away. In Marrakesh the hotel was a 55 minutes walk from the centre. It was a five star trip but I cannot give it that because of the hotels.

Highlights of Morocco

Met some amazing people and seen Beautiful areas!! The whole experience from adventures, people, culture, food, tour guide – Jamal, Bus driver – Siad was amazing. This was my 1st International Adventure and felt very safe with everyone. I will definitely be doing more International Traveling!!

Most Inspirational Moment

Every part of the trip was amazing. Experienced so many different things within the 2 weeks.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Jamal was amazing. He always made sure we were safe. He is very knowledgeable, not just about his home area. Jamal made a point to communicate and learn/teach us/himself some language/culture.

Highlights of Morocco

Great trip, good organisation and a nice group of fellow travellers. Accommodation basic but adequate.

Most Inspirational Moment

Our Group Leader actually got my wife on a camel!

Thoughts on Group Leader

Khaled was an excellent leader

An Excellent Value!

I thoroughly enjoyed my trip with Exodus, from Marrakesh to Fez to the desert to the mountains and sea.

Most Inspirational Moment

My highlight was hiking to the mountain hotel and then hiking from there on a day trip.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Sorry, but I forgot.
