Most Inspirational Moment
Going through the Italian country side and really seeing the country. We stayed at two different Masserias. These were amazing.

Exodus is well organized. I can depend on accommodations to be good quality. I can count on head guide to be knowledgeable. This was my second trip with Exodus. So I know from experience Exodus trips are well designed. I am planning a third trip with Exodus for next year.

This was a really incredible trip! From North to South you get to see the ins-and-outs of this beautiful country, the beautiful sights, the friendly people and the tasty food! I feel that it was the perfect duration for the locations visited – I didn’t feel rushed on any days but also don’t feel that we were roaming around aimlessly at any point! Just an action packed trip from start to finish and one that I would definitely recommend to anyone who is thinking about going for it… you won’t regret it!
The most inspiring moment for me was the home-stay visit at Xom Chien village. It's a very tranquil stay, you are right in the beautiful country side and rice fields, and are welcomed and hosted by the very friendly community in this village. The locals are very generous and friendly and are excited to welcome you to their home. This homestay being right near the start of the trip is a very good bit of trip planning as it allows you to slow down, take in the scenery and the culture and really unwind and start your holiday in a refreshed mind state.
Toan was an amazing guide! He was fun, friendly, funny and knew just about everything there was to know about his country! He provided such a deep knowledge on the history and culture of the areas we passed through and also helped us to learn some of the local language to help us communicate with the locals better. Just a really great guide to spend your 2 weeks with!
Depending on what time of the year you travel, bring fewer/lighter clothes than you're planning, it's hotter than I expected! Also bring some thin but warm layers for the overnight train. I personally didn't get very cold, but some of my fellow travelers were quite cold through the night.
Great week discovering mountains of Tuscany
Accommodation was great; going back in time, with comfort. Food outstanding.
A family atmosphere all around.
Great hikes, some more difficult, but it was all detailed in notes.
Loved the Medieval walled city of Lucca, on day off.
The last day hike to Monte Prado Views all the way up, and all around
Sara was outstanding; a machine of a guide! Including everyone, encouraging all hikers to do their best. Her pride and knowledge of the area is obvious. Very involved with all meals. Great sense of humour. Would go back in a minute. A wonderfully kind human A gem for Exodus
Remember to read notes with hike elevation; as stated, bring layers for summit. Fell in love with the local “ Farro” grains, brought some back home
Really good itinerary to make the most of both cities (Tallinn and Helsinki) plus some time out in nature. Really good local guides who made everything very easy. Great bus travel – very comfortable and spacious.
Brilliantly tailored programmes to make the most of the trip. Great guides and all logistics taken care of so you don’t need to worry about anything.
Tallinn old town. Walks in national parks, Suomelinna (sp?) Island tour.
He was excellent, diligent, knowledgeable and nothing too much trouble
The location was so close, only 1.5 hour flight, so no long haul. The small town where we stayed was unspoiled and on the hikes themselves we hardly saw anyone else. The scenery was dramatic and the hikes made the most of that. There were some tricky conditions because of previous heavy rains, and our guide needed to adapt the order that we did two of the walks in and he checked on the weather conditions during the hikes and did make a couple of changes (to get down to a lower altitude when rain threatened). His support of everyone in the group and his decision making was excellent. He was professional, friendly, well informed on the terrain and its history. Also, away from the hikes, he ensured the two non-gluten guests and the one vegetarian (me) were well catered for.
Hard to say as there were so many. The stunning Cares Gorge, walking with the river far below and the peaks way above us. The amazing views from the Collado de Pandebano, after hiking up through the woods. The spring flowers every day. The treat of seeing Chamois on our final day on the route following the old mining track. Two of the hikes made use of tracks that had been built for the hydroelectric dam and previous mining works, and I loved that we, as tourists could now use those tracks, no longer needed for industry, to see such stunning scenery. Our guide, Alfonso.
He was an excellent leader on the hikes themselves and was always aware of the weather conditions and any changes that needed to be made. He was alert if someone needed encouragement or assistance. He carried the backpack of one of the party during a steep, slippery descent. He was also quick to resolve any issues with our accommodation and food (though I had no issues at all with those). He made the whole experience fun, whilst always being professional and inspiring confidence. His English was excellent.
Extremely well-organised, with an excellent guide, who liaised with a range of local guides and restaurants to provide very smooth transitions between locations. We didn’t know Morocco, and this trip provided variety between cities, smaller towns/villages, and more rural locations.
The trip allowed us to see a range of places in Morocco, with very experienced guides, and comfortable accommodation, with everything very well-planned. It was good to share experiences with our group of fellow-travellers.
Many: the souks of Marrakech and Fes; the journey through the mountains; walking through the oases; staying in a riad; and of course, riding on a camel in the desert!
Hamid was a perfect leader. He was friendly, approachable, and made sure we were always safe. His knowledge about Morocco - its history, politics, religion and culture all helped to make this such a good trip. His local knowledge, including of the different languages spoken (Berber, and its variants, for example), and his patience answering our many questions were outstanding. We felt we were in very safe hands, and that nothing was too much trouble.
The trip was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Every temple and shrine had its own atmosphere and charm, many set amongst peaceful gardens and wooded areas. Although the cherry blossom season was nearing its end, there were still plenty of blossoms and colourful flowers adding to the beauty of the scenery. Everything felt incredibly clean, efficient, and well organised — from the punctual trains to the welcoming hotels. The food was excellent throughout the trip, and the kindness and politeness of the people made the experience even more enjoyable.
There were many!
Duke was an excellent leader — knowledgeable, thoughtful, well organised, and always helpful. He took time to understand what each of us wanted from the trip, from experiences and food to shopping and sightseeing. He was patient throughout and even helped with plans beyond the group tour. I really appreciated all the effort he put into making the trip so enjoyable.
Be open to trying local food and experiences — some of the unexpected moments were the most memorable.
excellent apart from tabin wildlife park didnt see anything
loved kinabatangan
both guides excellent
Our guide, Jasmina, was first class. The bus and driver were good, as were the hotels and tour choices.
The Lakes National Park at Plitvice
She was wonderful and so genuine.
Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria were countries we had always wanted to visit and this trip not only took us to the amazing capitals but introduced to the other areas of these three countries making a fascinating and varied trip. As ever our guide Barni was excellent in all aspects of being a tour leader giving us lots of suggestions as to what to see or visit in our spare time even taking us on a 6:30am tour of Brasnov so we could see the town at its best.
So many - the riverfront of the Danube in Budapest with its magnificent Parliament building, Fisherman’s Bastion, the Great Synagogue, the Matthias church and the very poignant Shoes on the Danube memorial - the wooden houses and churches in Maramures - especially the merry cemetery! The small Saxon villages in Transylvania, the beautiful Romanian countryside with its mountains and rolling hills, the vibe of Bucharest, the local guide in Bucharest - amazing stories - the concert we attended in the Romanian Athenaeum Bucharest ,! Sofia’s churches especially the iconic Alexander Nevski Cathedral and the wonderful views of nighttime Istanbul we had from our restaurant chosen by Barni - there are lots more as every day there was something new and different to see.
Barni was amazing from the outset - we all met on the first night had time to introduce ourselves etc and then went on to eat in a fabulous local restaurant so our introduction to the trip was just perfect. His English was brilliant and his anticipation as to the needs of the group were second to none - he quietly organised us so we didn’t feel rushed or pressured. His choices of restaurants particularly in Istanbul were perfect as well. He made lots of suggestions for our free time ,alongside giving us the possible costs of entry as well as directions - he know all three countries well and everyone seemed to know him! We had very good local guides all spoke excellent English and were entertaining as well as informative. Barni also was incredibly stylish dressing in traditional style but with an overall contemporary look - we were all very impressed by his beautifully embroidered shirts. Above all Barni was very sensitive to the needs of particular group members ,being available throughout the trip for them which we believe enabled them to get as much out of the trip as everyone else - he was an absolute star Thanks Barni
We have been on over 30 trips with Exodus and we have never been disappointed- every trip brings a new and exciting adventure with a packed itinerary excellent guides and lots of wonderful memories
