Amalfi Coast: Pompeii & Pizza
A fabulous welcome at the family run 2Torri Hotel. Staff clearly very happy in their work. Great balance of adventures and relaxing time. Beautiful location in local Italian village with easy access to site seeing .
Most Inspirational Moment
Edwardo! Every day had it's highs. Loved Pompeii and Vesuvius all in one day. Really brought history alive.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Edwardo really does know every one locally. Looked after us beyond the call on duty. Like we were his family.

Perfect family holiday
A fantastic family holiday, with a full, well thought through itinerary that was great for both the kids and the parents. The hotel location is perfect and the extra breeze on the top of the mountains is ideal for keeping a bit cooler in the evenings. Good food, and a great group of families.
Most Inspirational Moment
The surprise lunch location on one of the days (I won't spoil it for others!).
The kids cooking evenings with the chefs were especially entertaining.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Eduardo was a brilliant leader who organised everything to perfection and had the children eating out of the palm of his hand and hanging on his every word. His enthusiasm and local knowledge meant we all could relax and enjoy the activities, which were all well planned and well paced. The ideal group leader, in fact!
Advice for Potential Travellers
The trip notes covered all we needed to know.

Amalfi Pompei & Pizza
A lovely holiday. A week of sunshine in late October. Great views, great food, fantastic historical and cultural sites.
Most Inspirational Moment
Climbing to the summit of Mt. Vesuvius. Whilst a simple climb for many, I am visually impaired, so this was a great challenge for me. Our Leader, Suzie, was very supportive, knowing when to offer assistance and when to retreat. Fantastic views from the crater edge and what a buzz for the achievement.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Suzie was informative, approachable and clearly loved the area she was guiding us through.
Advice for Potential Travellers
A good pair of boots for Mt. Vesuvius and The Walk of the Gods.

Amalfi coast with the kids
We took our two children, age 5 and 6, to Italy for the first time. In his words, my son Ben’s verdict was ‘Wowzers!.
Most Inspirational Moment
My 6 year old daughter was over the moon to climb around the crater of Vesuvius and feel the hot steam coming from the rocks. She's still talking about it at schoolo now and it's inspired her to draw pictures, write stories, play games, build Roman ruins from lego....it obviously made a huge impression.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Can't fault her - really enthusiastic, organised and pre-empted all of our needs fantastically.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Our son Ben (5) needed a piggy back on the Walk of the Gods. I would conserve their energy on the active days so they don't get too tired before the adventure starts.

Amalfi Coast-Leisurely to Moderate
The scenery was breathtaking. The group leader was excellent. The group was beyond compare. The trip rating was not what I expected.
Most Inspirational Moment
I informed Suzi that I was unable to keep up with the group and would make my own plans. She made a new plan for my vacation and had me meet with the group at every opportunity in a manner that allowed me to truly enjoy my vacation. She was encouraging, enthusiastic and took each traveller under her wing. This vacation was on my partner's bucket list and he got to fulfill his plan and we got to enjoy that together.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Suzi was upbeat, knowledgeable on so many levels, truly able to meet changes of plans with enthusiasm and bubbling over with love for the area, its people and history. .
Advice for Potential Travellers
Truly understand the rating of the trip. Bring your camera and enjoy the beauty, the people and their history from the beginning of time to the present moment.

La Dolce Vita
This has been one of our best family holidays ever. The itinerary is perfectly balanced and accommodated all levels very well. Eduardo is a faultless guide and manages to blend the group together well. He is particularly adept at bringing the children out of themselves. The hotel in Bomerano is small enough to have a family friendly feel an yet has everything you could ask for. They go the extra mile with the children’s cooking nights. We extended our stay with a few days in Sorrento and a night in Naples which was well worth it and enabled us to consolidate our appreciation of the region.
Most Inspirational Moment
It is hard to pick off a highlight but the walk of the Gods was especially magic and Pompeii was memorable.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Eduardo sets the right tone. All of the families were great and you could envisage being friends with them if they lived closer. However, I think Eduardo manages the ice breaking very well so that people mixed from the outset.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Extending our stay for a few days worked for us and is worth considering as the week will fly by. The crossing to Capri is 1 hour 20 minutes and quite a few people were sick. It was fine on the return journey as we all managed to get seats in the open air section. This made all the difference so if you are prone, make sure you are seated in the fresh air.

Amalfi Family Adventure
An excellent trip that was very well organised and gave us opportunity to experience many of the key places of interest in the region.
Most Inspirational Moment
Lunch on the Walk of the Gods at an old rustic farmhouse that we had to ourselves. A fabulous setting with outstanding food and drink. Very peaceful away from the hoards. The coastline is beautiful and its not hard to see why its so popular.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Eduardo was excellent, kept us organised, passed on local knowledge, made all arrangements as necessary and was good with the kids. He made the holiday much easier and more enjoyable than if we had tried to organise this all on our own.
Advice for Potential Travellers
The weather was very hot. This was expected though be sure to bring enough sunscreen and the right clothing to cater for this. Some of the places we visited are very popular so ferries/streets can be very busy. The hotel staff were excellent and catered even for the most fussy of eaters (including chip pizza!).

AMALFI COAST: POMPEII & PIZZA - FAMILY HOLIDAY
A fantastic trip with something for all ages and a great mix of activities, culture, and history with time to relax on the beach and by the hotel pool and some excellent freshly cooked food too. We thoroughly recommend this trip for all ages!
Most Inspirational Moment
There was so much variety on this trip so it is difficult to highlight just one moment. However, it was fabulous to see the guides bringing the historic sites of Pompeii and Herculaneum to life for the children and at the end of one day to watch the children put together their own song for the guides and hotel staff in which they summarised their trip highlights and interspersed this with historical facts they had learnt on the trip - it was priceless watching the children perform their song at our lunch stop on the Walk of the Gods! Then there were the cookery lessons for the childen at the hotel - the children just got "stuck in" and loved helping to prepare the evening meal.
Thoughts on Group Leader
We had more than one group leader during the week and each was superb - SO heplful, friendly and knowledgeable - hats off to Frank for stepping in at short notice and really getting stuck in!!
Advice for Potential Travellers
Just book the trip and enjoy - you will not be disappointed! However, do factor in the additional cost of some activities such as the visit to Herculaneum (which we all agreed was a "must do" activity but not cheap), the boat trip around Capri and the visit to the Blue Grotto - these can add up but were worth the money. Pack for all weathers! We travelled in October half term and ended up in shorts every day - the jumpers and umbrella never saw the light of day, though a fleece in the evenings when it got cooler was useful.

AMALFI COAST: POMPEII & PIZZA - FAMILY HOLIDAY
A wonderful holiday and some great memories. The organisation was fabulous and the knowledge and enthusiasm of our guide really added to the whole experience.
Most Inspirational Moment
The BBQ on the Path of the Gods was fantastic, a real added bonus that you just wouldn't get if you tried to do this yourself.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Our group leader was brilliant, she even organised an extra walk on her day off so a few of us could climb the mountain next to the hotel.

AMALFI COAST: POMPEII & PIZZA - FAMILY HOLIDAY
This is a great introduction to small-group holidays with lots of elements sure to appeal to families. There was time to swim on most of the days either at the hotel pool or at a beach and this was popular with the children in the group I joined.
Most Inspirational Moment
My family loved the section of 'The Walk of the Gods' and the lunch that day. The views were fantastic and the lunch was lovely. The water-taxi trips gave us great views of the coastline and a chance to appreciate its beauty while avoiding the twists and turns on the roads. One of the highlights for my son was making his own pizza in the hotel and he talks about it often now we're back home.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Our group leader Eduardo was born in the area and knows it and the people well. He likes people and is happy to take suggestions for changes to the finer details. The trip included some opportunities you'd need local links for eg to see local people at their work making cheese.
Advice for Potential Travellers
The younger children seemed to struggle with the late dinners and/or late nights. Some were very fractious as the day went on. The hotel dinners started at 8pm so families might like to know this before they book.
