Introducing Thanh

“If you are doing what you love,” says Thanh, “you don’t have to work a single day.” Born in the countryside south of Hanoi, in north Vietnam, he has been expertly leading Exodus tours since 2015. He studied tourism at university, and started working as a local guide in Hanoi in 2012. Thanh enjoys meeting people from around the world and introducing them to the countless beautiful places in his home country; from the capital of Hanoi to the mystery of Ha Long Bay and the atmospheric town of Hoi An.

He ensures his clients experience something special in each place they visit. One of his favourite experiences is to take his groups to the old quarter of Hanoi, where they cross the scooter-filled road and pass hidden alleys. The reward is the quintessential Hanoi experience: a street food feast while sat on the little plastic chairs so common in the city, all washed down with the ever-present bia hoi beer.
