- Activity Level
Every Exodus trip requires a sense of adventure! Choose your ideal Culture, Wildlife, Polar, Multi-Activity, or Family trip by using our Activity Levels – a grading that indicates how strenuous an adventure will be.
This rating comprises two elements:
- Activities: The duration and difficulty of inclusions, such as on-foot sightseeing, guided walks or other adventurous activities. Sightseeing can involve spending several hours on foot, sometimes over uneven ground or cobbled streets. We consider factors such as terrain, steps and altitude where relevant.
- Overall pace: This refers to the length and pace of each day, including early starts and longer journeys, as well as how much free time is built into the itinerary.
The Activity Level is designed as an overall guide. As every adventure is different, we recommend checking the daily itinerary and Essential Information for more detail on the activities, journeys and conditions you can expect.
Activity Level 1 (Easy)

Any included activities are easy and can be opted out of. The itinerary is evenly paced, with time to relax alongside travel and on-foot sightseeing. Some days may include early starts, but these are not usually on consecutive days.
Activity Level 2 (Easy & Moderate)

Any included activities are easy or moderate and can be opted out of. Sightseeing may involve more time on foot. Expect a busier pace, with some early starts and longer journeys, balanced with some free time.
Activity Level 3 (Moderate)

Some included activities may be moderately challenging but can be opted out of. Expect full days of sightseeing or activity, so a reasonable level of fitness is recommended to get the most from the trip. The itinerary moves at a busy pace, with consecutive early starts and longer days to make the most of our time.
Activity Level 4 (Moderate & Challenging)

Some included activities may be more physically demanding, such as hiking, canoeing, kayaking or cycling, so a good level of fitness is required. Expect a very busy itinerary, with plenty of activities and potentially more challenging terrain. Regular early starts and long days are likely.
