Most Inspirational Moment
It would be too difficult to choose a single moment. The Vikos Gorge was an outstanding natural beauty and completing that hike was a triumph. Climbing by wild horses, bursting wild flowers, laden burros, a herd of goats and reaching Dragon Lake as the sun came out felt exhilarating. Sitting among the jagged peaks of the wilderness at the retreat as the storm rolled in was other-worldly. The villages were immaculate and picture perfect. The food at our last dinner was almost transformational.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Aris was outstanding in so many ways. He was humorous, congenial, attentive to every nuance, a skilled hiker, organized (just watch him lay out the lunch provisions!), concerned about our welfare, and knowledgeable and insightful about the area and about Greece in general. He was diplomatic yet directive when he needed to be. There were many balls to juggle at one time and he did it professionally yet remained a true friend of the group. We couldn’t have asked for better.
Suggestions
While it is classified as “Moderate/Challenging,” the trip notes suggest that this is a trip for someone who I moderately fit. That could be interpreted subjectively. Perhaps reword it to that participants should be able to master challenging sections of hikes.
