Unforgettable Southern Adventure

This trip was full of culture, great music and warm Southern charm. Every day offered something new to discover, and even in our free time there was so much to explore.

Most Inspirational Moment

Visiting Graceland and the National Civil Rights Museum was an unforgettable experience. Hearing the stories behind each place brought the region’s history to life, from the music and culture at Graceland to the powerful and moving history of the civil rights movement. It made the whole trip feel personal, inspiring, and deeply memorable.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Our Leader did an amazing job leading our Southern Soul adventure. She brought every place to life with her knowledge and passion, and made sure everyone felt included and cared for. Her energy, organisation and sense of fun really enhanced the whole experience, she went above and beyond to make it unforgettable.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Pack light because it gets hot and you’ll be on the move a lot. Bring comfortable walking shoes and be ready to explore both the well-known sights and hidden local gems. Keep an open mind, talk to locals, and take your time to soak up the music, culture, and history - it will make your trip unforgettable.

Wonderful View, Great Company

We are an Australian couple who are first time Exodus clients. We had a wonderful week hiking the stunning Amalfi Coast in September with a great group of people.

Most Inspirational Moment

Hiking the Path of the Gods and coming to our first stunning view.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Roberta was amazing. She led us so well, kept and us safe, participated at dinner, kept us very well informed prior and during our hikes and assisted with any additional needs from our group including working out a way for someone to participate with an injury. Roberta also with assisted with transport arrangements for forward journeys which would probably be above and beyond her duties.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Ensure you are fully aware that the hikes can be challenging. There are lots of steps and inclines and declines but certainly achievable if you are relatively fit and don't have any ongoing physical problems e.g. sore knees. The hotel is very clean and the meals simple but more than adequate in quantity. There are options in town for anyone who wants a change on a free night. Agerola is a lovely, quiet town which was a delight after the crowds in Amalfi and Positano. If you are arriving by train into Naples just make sure you receive clear instructions on where to meet your driver. Unfortunately, we didn't have very good instructions and it took a long time to find him. We just thought the "exit" meant "outside" the station when it actually meant as we exited the platforms. Lucky our driver did speak English.

Good hotels. Lovely food. Good bikes

Varied cycling terrain, canal paths, quiet country lanes, off road through trees, dirt tracks, relatively flat. Good hotels. Lovely food. Good bikes

Most Inspirational Moment

St Malo day. Cycling by canal then countryside, boat trip across to St Malo, guided tour and by the sea. Normandy section, American and British cemeteries. Bayeux tapestry. Lots really

Very good accommodations and fabulous food.

Yannis is an excellent guide and very knowledgeable about the area we biked. We had very good accommodations and fabulous food.

Most Inspirational Moment

Riding along the canal and the incredible folk art. The American cemetery- being at my uncles grave on the 80th anniversary of his death in action.

Great trip overall

This was a lovely weeks hiking and we were lucky to have great weather for all of our hiking days (October). It was great to start in Samos to ‘tune in’ a bit to the more busy sections of the path and having a day at the end in Santiago is essential. The distances are sometimes long, but navigation is so easy as it is so well signed, which enabled people to go at their own pace with regular meeting points for a cafe con leche. Before booking, we debated guided v unguided as it is so easy to follow but opted to go with the minimal faff option, which was good. The route was interesting and prettier than I expected, but possibly not for those who prefer more remote hiking environments and solitude.

Most Inspirational Moment

Arriving in Santiago at the end of a great trip

Thoughts on Group Leader

Mireia was a great guide - organised, knowledgeable and fun.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Consider other flight options. The group connecting flights were tight and so stressful - we had to run between terminals on the return due to a minor delay on the first (meanwhile there was a direct Vueling flight to Gatwick at almost the same time). Having 4 flights when 2 would doesn't sit well with the environmental goals? Be prepared for people on the route. Often this added to the atmosphere, but sometimes very large groups of school children could be noisy - save a bit of energy to put a spurt on and get past them and it wasn't too bad. Be prepared to queue at popular cafes and toilets.

I have used Exodus a lot and like the range of trips

Guide Yannis was very good. Lovely parts of the country, routes mostly kept out of traffic. Hotels often very good, some nice breakfasts. Good bike. Cider factory visit good. I have used Exodus a lot and like the range of trips, which are usually very well organised.

Most Inspirational Moment

Nice cycling routes on varied paths. Cider factory visit. Oyster market. St Malo, the ferry ride and guided tour. Bayeux tapestry. Mont St Michel (guide made special effort to get us there by taxi when the days cycle trip was disrupted.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Very good, friendly and hard working.

STUNNING AND SPECTACULAR!

This trip was a stunning introduction to the spectacular Dalmation Coast of Southern Croatia. Each of the four cycling days – encompassing the islands of Hvar and Korcula and the Peljesac peninsula – seem to surpass one another, culminating in the heavenly bike path that is the Vinegorje Dingac. The latter will occupy my dreams for years to come. Even the accommodations had breathtaking views of the sun dappled and island-dotted Adriatic. Having previously lived in Italy, we were pleasantly surprised at the level of preservation, cleanliness and friendliness of the Dalmatian community. This area is truly a jewel. Wonderful food (especially fresh sea food) and drink (especially for wine connoisseurs) add to the quality of this itinerary. The October weather was perfect, sunny and in the 60s F, and the roads were quiet. Dubrovnik was still busy, but manageable.

Most Inspirational Moment

The Vinegorje Dingac - a quiet, undulating cliffside bike path flanked by steep vineyards of premium Plavac Mali grapes, with stunning views of the adriatic.

MATE WAS THE BEST!

Advice for Potential Travellers

The steepest hill climb was the first day with two short segments of 10% gradient, manageable for my wife and I on the regular mountain bikes. The E-bikers had no problem. Bring swim wear - plenty of opportunities to swim .

Walking the Amalfi Coast

This was my first Exodus trip and it was very disappointing. For the pros, the hikes were amazing and the hotel was cozy and comfortable. However, for our group of 16, six of us were placed with a private group of 10 friends who were celebrating a birthday and we were treated as tag alongs. One of the six joined another group and the remaining five were basically ostracized from the group. From the first night where our guide did not meet with us, we felt left out. We were seated separately for meals, given very little instructions, had separate what’s app group set up, etc, while we watched the cohesion of the other groups and how well their group leaders led them. Once or twice, another group leader would come by to give us information after noticing that we were left out. It left a very bitter taste and moved a few of us to tears by the end of the trip.

Most Inspirational Moment

The climb to the summit of Vesuvius

Thoughts on Group Leader

Not communicative enough and very sparse with information.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Make great connections.

Reply from Exodus

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, although we’re truly sorry to hear that your first Exodus experience didn’t meet your expectations. While we’re pleased you enjoyed the hikes and the comfort of the Hotel Due Torri, we regret that the group dynamics left you feeling excluded.
We’ve spoken with the leader, who clarified that efforts were made to share key information and ensure all group members were informed and included, despite the challenges. That said, we understand that your experience didn’t reflect the welcoming and cohesive environment we strive to create on all our adventures.
Your feedback is important to us, and we’re reviewing how we manage group dynamics to ensure all guests feel equally supported and connected. We hope you’ll consider giving us another opportunity to deliver the kind of memorable and inclusive adventure we’re known for.

The Exodus Team

Everything you want from a cycling trip!

The perfect balance of a fairly challenging two weeks of cycling, varied scenery, activities out of the saddle that are just as good as those in it, and a beach ending that is the cherry on top! Who doesn’t want to spend their rest day searching for tigers & elephants in Bandipur National Park? Our leader, Safi, had 15 years experience and his local knowledge made sure we saw the real heart of India. I would go and do this very trip again and I don’t think I’ve ever said that about a trip. 10 stars!

Amazing trip!

Just returned from walking the highlights of Mount Blanc! There was a variety of hikes and all had great views. Our guide and chalet hosts were very knowledgeable and made us feel very welcome!
