Adventure Holidays

The highlights of this stunning area include Matera, located in the neighbouring region of Basilicata, which is famous for its cave-and-stone Sassi houses and Alberobello, famous for the funny-looking Trulli houses that still stand after 500 years. Strolling through the old narrow streets of Ostuni and Locorotondo will take you back in time and will allow you to discover Puglia’s distinct and authentic identity. After a day of walking, sightseeing or cycling you will have a chance to relax and enjoy the legendary regional cuisine. To give you just a small list of the types of food on offer here: Bread from the Murge, durum wheat pasta, vegetables such as aubergines, peppers and courgettes, which are grown just a few steps from the sea, then olives, broad beans and chicory, all used to prepare simple, tasty dishes such , “orecchiette” pasta served with a sauce of turnip-tops or fresh tomato and sheep’s ricotta-cheese, and “burrata” (soft mozzarella and cream cheese). This region is a real food lovers paradise!
