Amalfi Coast Holidays & Tours

Our Amalfi Coast Holidays

The Amalfi Coast is a spectacular region in Italy. It’s famous for lemon trees, olive groves, and tiny villages all clinging to dramatic cliffs that tower above the sea.

This beautiful destination is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site – and that’s with good reason. The towns and villages of Amalfi, Positano, and Ravello are linked by clifftop passes and old donkey trails, with each craggy corner unfolding more of this panoramic coastline.

The ‘Walk of the Gods’ descending into Positano is one of the most popular walks on our Amalfi Coast walking holidays, on which the cliffside routes will take your breath away. Head inland and you find vineyards and deep gorges, or follow mule tracks and old trails to picturesque hillside villages.

On your Amalfi Coast holiday, why not unwind in the evenings when you take a seat on a balmy terrace? Tuck into superb Italian cuisine, enjoy a cool drink and relax as you watch the boats in the harbour below.

A great way to visit the beauty of Amalfi without the huge crowds. Staying in Bomerano and hiking each day was a great alternative to a through hike with the associated heavy pack. Chance to set you own challenges on free day. Down the stairs, and up!

Lynda Edwards Walking the Amalfi Coast

We had a great week in Italy’s Cilento and Amalfi Coast. The group got along well and our guide Paolo was amazing! The coast was busy and roads narrow at some areas but with the confidence and guidance of Paolo we made it thru it all. The views well worth it all!

Sherry Scoular Cycle Cilento & the Amalfi Coast

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this trip, that said the first three days are quite challenging in both range and climbing, so managing the battery in the e-bike is essential to successfully complete the ride.
All of the hotels were to a very good standard and the food at the lunchtime stops was also very good.
The majority of the riding was on quiet back roads and only the last day along the Amalfi Coast did things get a little focused.
There were 10 people on the ride and I’m pleased to say we all got along very well which is another bonus to the trip,

Amalfi Coast trips FAQs

Where to stay on the Amalfi Coast?

There are plenty of stylish places to stay on the Amalfi Coast and our tours aim to cover as many of them as possible. Some of the places you can stay on your Amalfi Coast holiday include Bomerano, Amalfi, Ravello, Positano, Capri.

Where is the Amalfi Coast?

The Amalfi Coast stretches along the southern coastline of Italy’s Sorrentine Peninsula. It’s roughly 50km long and features beautiful towns and cities along the way, including Amalfi, Ravello, and Positano.

How to get to the Amalfi Coast?

If you travel with Exodus, we can arrange all your travel and will organise your flights too at a small added cost. This means you can enjoy a stress-free journey from start to finish!

What can I do on the Amalfi Coast?

With more than 50km of coastline to explore, you won’t be short on things to do when you arrive. You can explore the popular towns of Capri and Positano or visit the tourist attractions in the region such as:

  • Il Sentiero Degli Dei
  • Villa Cimbrone Gardens
  • Duomo di Sant’Andrea
  • Villa Rufolo
  • Duomo di Salerno

Our tours cover a huge range of attractions and towns here too and we’ll do all the planning, so you can arrive rested and ready to enjoy what the Amalfi Coast has to offer.

How do I travel around the Amalfi Coast without a car?

There are several ways to get around this gorgeous region of southern Italy. You can get ferries from port to port during the summer months and enjoy stunning views while avoiding any traffic during peak travel times. Alternatively, you can get buses around the Amalfi Coast, which are one of the more cost-effective ways to travel to all of the popular tourist spots here.

What is the best time to visit the Amalfi Coast?

The two best times to visit the Amalfi Coast are between September and October or April and May. This is because the weather is great but not too hot, so you can explore without needing frequent breaks in air-conditioned cafés. What’s more, these times are outside of peak season, so you’ll be able to enjoy smaller queues for all of the attractions.

How long is the Amalfi Coast?

The Amalfi Coast is 50km long and sits on the southern coast of Italy.

What airport is close to Amalfi Coast?

Naples is the nearest airport to the Amalfi Coast, and you can fly direct from many airports around the UK. From there, you can get a train, taxi, bus, or ferry to your accommodation.

What to wear in Amalfi Coast?

It can be very hot on the Amalfi Coast and UV rays can be high, which means lightweight clothing that covers your skin should be worn when you visit. Be sure to pack a hat and sunglasses to protect your head when exploring throughout the day and then pack your most stylish outfits for the evening time. The Amalfi Coast is known for being a sophisticated destination, so you’ll want to fit in when you visit restaurants and bars along the coast.

How long is a flight to Amalfi Coast?

Flying to the Amalfi Coast for a holiday means travelling to Naples, then finding alternate transport to get to the region. Direct flights from the UK to Naples take the following amount of time:

  • London to Naples: 2 hours 40 minutes
  • Manchester to Naples: 3 hours 5 minutes
  • Bristol to Naples: 2 hours 45 minutes
  • Edinburgh to Naples: 3 hours 10 minutes
What's the weather in Amalfi Coast?

It’s sunny weather for most of the year in this part of Italy. Summer months like July average highs of 29°C and lows of 22°C, which makes it a great time for lying on the beach and exploring the beautiful islands just off the coast.

However, during the cooler months like January, you can expect highs of 12°C and lows of 8°C, which is a mild temperature for taking in all of the cultural sights. There’s a lot of walking required during an Amalfi Coast tour, so some prefer to visit when the temperatures are lower.
