I’ve wanted to do this hike for so long and it really didn’t disappoint. The days were long, steep and tough from the very first day to the last but the scenery was just stunning. I loved crossing from one country to the next, seeing the landscape change from alpine cliff to meadow, to glacial valley. It was beautiful. It is full on so get some hill training in but this really was beautiful.

Chamonix
Chamonix Holidays
In the shadow of Mont Blanc, within the French Alps, Chamonix is a global capital of adventure, particularly for mountaineering, climbing and skiing. Many of our Mont Blanc trekking holidays include Chamonix trips, allowing you the chance to explore this world-renowned Alpine village and the scenic valley of the same name.
Chamonix also marks the start (or end, depending on your trajectory) of the Haute Route, taking you all the way to Zermatt in Switzerland and linking the great European peaks of Mont Blanc and the Matterhorn.

Gary Mullen-Schultz Tour du Mont Blanc Hotel TrekDespite unexpected illness we had a wonderful and rewarding trip.
Michael Cooke Mont Blanc Hiking HighlightsThe hiking tour of the Mount Blanc mountains and area around Chamonix was an amazing experience and adventure. We were very lucky with the weather which for the most part was lovely, but the variety of walks and views made each day a different and thrilling experience. The chalet was cosy and well looked after by our hosts Seb and Carol, who made us feel very welcome, and prepared great breakfasts and lunches to keep us going, as well as delicious cakes as a welcome treat when coming back from a hike, and very tasty and filling dinners.
