Experience the REAL Norway

As an Exodus reservations team member who has travelled on many Exodus trips of all types, this one truly took my breath away! And I’m not just talking about the Arctic dip we took in the sea after warming up in the sauna one morning.
Nothing was too much trouble, and the hospitality was some of the best I have ever experienced. Every detail felt effortless, every host genuinely passionate about sharing their corner of Norway.

You genuinely taste your way through Norway, from a bacalao cooking experience and an organic cider tour overlooking the fjords that felt straight out of a storybook, to sampling reindeer and steak, and raise a horn of mead in a Viking house to the thrum of “Skål!” and “Cheers!”

The itinerary is perfectly crafted, making each day feel like the turn of a page in a very old book filled with dramatic landscapes, trolls and medieval history.

Perfect for anyone wanting to not just say they’ve been to Norway, but that they’ve explored its wild heart and experienced the stories, traditions and landscapes that make this country so unforgettable.

Most Inspirational Moment

One of the most magical moments was gliding by kayak across the glass-still waters of the fjords, the mountains reflected perfectly around us. As we paddled through the silence, our guide brought the landscape to life with tales of King Olav, Viking legends and the serpent-like beasts said to lurk in the dark depths below. It felt less like an excursion and more like stepping into a Norse saga

Åshild was a delight! I really enjoyed her many stories of her personal experiences of growing up in Norway, such as visiting her fathers cabin in the woods and hiking up fjords for hours for a thrilling 30 minute ski down! She has a way of making you feel Norway is your home too in the short time you are there. Her warm demeanor, excellent storytelling and precise organization made the trip flow like a dream!

Advice for Potential Travellers

This isn't a trip for ticking Norway off a list. It's for those who want to dive into its traditions, connect with its people, and experience the raw beauty and folklore that flow through its veins in complete comfort. Come home not just saying you've been to Norway, but feeling as though you've lived a piece of its story and explored its wild, untamed heart.

Trip of a Lifetime

This safari exceeded every expectation. Exodus has created an outstanding itinerary that showcases the very best of Botswana and Zimbabwe, combining incredible wildlife encounters with comfortable lodges, knowledgeable guides, and unforgettable experiences.
The wildlife viewing was simply exceptional and we were fortunate enough to witness some truly remarkable moments.
The lodges were all unique, each with its own character, but every one was comfortable, welcoming and of excellent quality. The food was good and plentiful.
We travelled with three couples and five solo travelers, and it was an absolute pleasure sharing this adventure with such wonderful people. The friendships, laughter and shared excitement added another special dimension to an already incredible experience.

Most Inspirational Moment

Baby rhino nursing from its mother was incredibly special, while seeing a leopard with its kill high in a tree and spending time observing painted dogs were experiences we’ll never forget.

Our guide Siziba and driver Gift were outstanding. Gift’s smile lit up every day, and he did a fantastic job navigating the long driving days and challenging roads while keeping the group relaxed. Siziba’s attention to detail was second to none. His goal was always to give us the best possible experience. His knowledge, passion, and dedication were exceptional. Together, they made an incredible team and played a huge part in making this trip so memorable

Advice for Potential Travellers

The early morning game drives can be surprisingly cold, especially in the open vehicles. Bring a warm jacket, gloves, a toque, and a buff or neck gaiter. A power bank is very useful for the longer travel days, and a headlamp is essential for your stay in the Okavango Delta. If you have room in your luggage, bring some school supplies for the local school visit. The children and teachers are incredibly grateful, and it’s a small gesture that makes a real difference. Finally, enjoy every moment. From the spectacular wildlife and beautiful lodges to the friendships you’ll make along the way, this is an adventure you’ll remember for the rest of your life. I would recommend this Exodus safari without hesitation.

Cycling in sunny Sicily

We just returned from this trip (June, 2026) and were blessed with nice sunny weather (not too hot fortunately) and a great group of cyclist with a passionate local leader!

Most Inspirational Moment

Visiting the various Baroque Cities (Noto, Syracuse) and completing the various climbs (including Cavagrande del Cassibile).

Thoughts on Group Leader

Davide was amazing. He is passionate about his native Sicily, its history and the environment. He is humorous and inspired us with just enough story so that we can explore it more once home. He is a great cyclist and knows the route very well. He kept us safe and make sure there were enough cold water stops (especially in the hot weather) to refuel. He also introduce us to great restaurants where I had my best Italian pizza and sea food (even better than in Puglia)!

Advice for Potential Travellers

Although the distance and ascent does not look that bad, the hot weather makes it a bit harder than usual (bring plenty of factor 50 sun cream and drink lots)! There are plenty of chances to swim in the warm Med. sea as well as relaxing in the lovely hotel pools so don't forget your swim suits... The architecture, history and scenery of Sicily are fascinating so some research (or watch some BBC iPlayer) on Sicily will make the trip much more engaging!

Waterfalls, valleys and glaciers!

As an Exodus staff member, I recently had the pleasure of visiting this incredible country, Norway. I was blown away by how stunning the landscapes were, including numerous waterfalls and valleys created by ancient glaciers still visible today! Our group had a refreshing mix of people; forever laughing and enjoying our best life exploring the Fjords!

Advice for Potential Travellers

Pack your own re-usable lunch box for the lunches each day! Bring a raincoat!

An unforgettable Tuscan adventure

Our first time travelling under the “Signature” label, we were impressed with the service we received from Exodus right from the time of booking. Our questions and needs were quickly and accurately addressed, with everything running smoothly before and after departure to Italy. The trip itself met and often exceeded our expectations, with many cultural, meaningful and memorable encounters in locations such as Arezzo, Florence, Siena and Pienza. For example, not many people get to have a delicious private lunch on the roof of one of Siena’s tallest towers overlooking the Piazza del Campo (the only way the experience could have been bettered was if the Palio was being held at the same time)! Our stay in the medieval village of the Castello di Gargonza was also a magical experience; our rooms were superb, the views stunning and the staff always attentive to our needs. We highly recommend the new “Signature Collection” and will soon be looking to book our next Signature trip.

Most Inspirational Moment

I am tempted to say the whole trip was inspiring . However, if I must identify just one, it would be the awe inspiring afternoon spent in the Opficio Delle Pietre Dure E Laboratori Di Restauro Di Firenze. It was an honour and a privilege to meet one of the institute's experts and to be shown the work being undertaken in Florence to conserve and restore so many artistic treasures. The drawing of the elephant revealed by the X-ray of Leonardo's "Adoration of the Magi" will long remain in our memories.

Ambra was delightful. Deeply knowledgeable, friendly, approachable and funny, she worked hard to meet our preferences and needs, playing a huge part in making sure we had a fabulous week in Tuscany. We would go so far as to say that Ambra is one of the best group leaders we have had the privilege of meeting in many years of travelling worldwide.

Advice for Potential Travellers

The food provided on the trip is never less than delicious. However, portions can be large (an 800g Bistecca alla fiorentina. Each!) and travellers would be best advised to pace themselves if they don't want to have to buy a complete new wardrobe of clothes upon return.

Walking through the palm tree forest at Preveli Beach – it was like a tropical oasis!

Our guide, Yorgos Prinarakis, was an amazing guide who had a real passion for showing and telling us all about his country and its history and culture.

Advice for Potential Travellers

This trip is great for people who want active exploration with downtime and scenery, rather than a hardcore trekking-only trip. Make sure to pack plenty of water and your swimming gear as it gets hot!

Highlights of Sicily May 2026

A great way to get a flavour of Sicily. Some long days travelling, but then you do go round the whole of the coast of Sicily.

All of it. There wasn't really one thing that stood out above the rest. There was a good mixture of sights and food. We were lucky enough to get to the national park which had only been reopened a couple of weeks before we got there following wild fires,

Thoughts on Group Leader

Tiziano was absolutely fantastic. A ball of fun and he managed to add extra bits to our excursions as we were a great group and all of us were always on time. We were given a list of foods to experience as we went round Sicily and we did try almost all of them.

Advice for Potential Travellers

The botanical gardens are worth a visit on your free afternoon in Palermo. Travel light as you can wash and dry your clothes overnight if you wish.

Highlights of Albania

Albania has blown me away from the 10 day cultural tour. Artur our guide was very informative about the history, culture, ethics, people , food and so on, I have come away with a different view. I loved the home visit, the traditional houses and the places we went to.
Artur looked after us and was very caring and paid attention to detail and followed up on anything the individuals in the group needed.
Artur and our driver Dhui, were an amazing combination, both respectful to each other and the group. It was a memorable tour and I would go back to Albania for more

The most inspiring moment was the visit to the 17 century homes, still there post communist and it was amazing to learn how families lived together

Artur our leader was exceptional, kind and had the attention to detail. He was able to change things as required. He consulted us with options, he asked individually if we were ok on a daily basis. He listened to our feedback. Amazing guide! Dhiu the driver made our trip so smooth with his driving skills and helping with lugagge etc.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Be prepared moving from hotel to hotel. Some long days but these two guide and driver, made everything flow with much ease

Seriously impressive

What a trip – my 6th walking tour with Exodus and utterly blown away by the Challenge 5 hikes amongst the Alpi Apuane and Apennines ranges. This was an astonishing introduction to Tuscany! If you enjoy mountain walks and vast open views this could be your next trip.

Most Inspirational Moment

The ridge walks overlooking the Tuscan/Liguarian coastline, spotting the variety of butterflies, beetles and wildflowers across the alpine meadows. Simply gorgeous.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Liz was an incredible guide. She is unstoppable in her drive, energy and commitment to everyone’s personal experience. She was resourceful, knowledgeable and expertly mountain skilled, but beyond that, Liz was beyond wonderful and took care of all our needs - including our washing !

Advice for Potential Travellers

Check the challenge level is suitable for your ability, the ridge hikes require some low key scrambling and there are a few exposed sections with impressive drops. You are on the mountains for long days with 1000m ascent /decent typically. So worth it if this is for you .

Fjords, Forests, and Forever Memories

This trip quickly became one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life. Norway is breathtaking in photos, but nothing compares to standing among the fjords, mountains, and forests in person. Every destination on the itinerary had its own personality and charm, making the journey feel like several incredible trips woven into one.

I especially loved how immersive each stop was. Whether we were exploring Trondheim, learning to cook with local ingredients at Sveggvika Guesthouse, kayaking through the fjords, or enjoying the Viking dinner at Blåtind Boutique Hotel, every experience felt authentic and thoughtfully planned.

What made this trip even more special were the people we met along the way. The hotel staff, local hosts, and everyone who shared their traditions and stories made Norway feel incredibly welcoming. It never felt like we were just passing through, it felt like we were being invited to experience a small piece of everyday Norwegian life.

Most Inspirational Moment

Kayaking through the fjord and stopping to eat lunch from a local bakery that was packed in waterproof bags! The mountains rising around us, the quiet, and the feeling of being surrounded by nature, I felt like I was in a nature documentary.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Åshild truly made the trip exceptional. She was organized, knowledgeable, and always happy to answer questions or offer recommendations. More importantly, she made everyone feel comfortable and welcome from the very beginning. Her enthusiasm for Norway was contagious, and you could tell she genuinely wanted every person in our group to have the best possible experience. By the end of the trip, it felt like we were saying goodbye to a friend. I may have shed a few tears after our final farewell.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Bring layers, some days have more sun or wind, and the rain can change the temperature too! Comfortable walking shoes are essential, and hiking boots for hiking days. Say yes to the optional experiences, try the local foods (especially the brown cheese!), and take time to soak in the magic of Norway!
