Another fantastic cycling adventure with Exodus. Hotels were all ideal for the nature of the trip. The cycling was a good level of exercise with chances to opt in to extra cycling or opt out to put your feet up. Beautiful views and fabulous cities.

This trip delivered everything it promised, helped by unbroken clear skys. As with all Exodus trips the notes were accurate and should not be left unread, a wildcamping safari is just what it says! So lucky to join a group of mature travelers to whom laughing was second nature, it really does help!
Too many to list, unique animal behavior, glorious bread made fresh in an iron pot over embers, the night sky, the optional activities.
Sam and Vasco were absolutely on top of their job nothing was too much trouble or left to chance. Vasco's skill produced some outstanding wildlife encounters.
Do take note of the trip notes, if it says cool nights thats what it means. A real treasure of a trip if you love African wilderness. Do save some extra cash for the optional extras which were so worth doing.
We thoroughly enjoyed the who trip, walking through spectacular scenery and camping it picturesque locations. It was well organised and met all our expectations.
Being in the alpine meadows with all the beautiful flowers surrounded by snow capped mountains. This could be a fabulous selling point for Exodus.
Jeff was fantastic, well organised, knowledgeable, fun and a responsible leader. He had a special talent to spot any potential problems and sort them out quietly and efficiently. he had an excellent knowledge of the local flora and we enjoyed his regular explanations during the walks. Congratulations to Exodus on selecting such a high quality person to lead the trek. We would love to walk with him again. Also Andy the camp manager was amazing and produced delicious food with limited facilities for both vegetarians and non vegetarians . His pleasant and cheerful personality was a bonus at the end of a days walk.
It is worth doing some training before you go on this trip as physical fitness will add to the enjoyment of the overall experience.
cycling tour with lots of opportunity to see round some beautiful Italian cities
could have been any number of times when I turned a corner and had my breath taken away by beautiful buildings or city swuare
Excellent. A lot of fun, very knowledgable about the cities we visited, passionate about Italy.. Knew excellent places to eat. Went the second mile (literally - he organised a 6am ride to do some of the local hills).
This is a great holiday, and I would recommend it.
What a fabulous two weeks walking amidst stunning mountain scenery. We had mostly fantastic weather so the mountain views were spectacular and walking through carpets of alpine flowers in full bloom (end of July/beginning August) and lots of different butterflies made every day special.
Every day was inspirational in different ways but reaching the top of each col provided fantastic mountain views.
John was undoubtedly the best leader I've had on a trip because he has the perfect combination of experience, leadership, support and sociability. I had knee problems from day 3 but I can't thank John enough for his treatment advice, his ongoing support and his kindness assisting with decisions about managing the problem which enabled me to complete the trek.
As many other reviewers have commented, take poles they're invaluable for the steep descents. Embrace the camping experience; two weeks may sound daunting but the tents were spacious and the whole experience was so much fun. Take a small brolly - it really is useful for the sudden showers/thunderstorms.
Two weeks of amazing scenery, mountains, camping, great camp mates and lots of fun. The camping was great, even the rainy evenings, as were the endless games of UNO and cards. The mountains were AMAZING and in my opinion this is a must do trip.
All of it really. Each day more great walking, more great views and more great memories
John was our walking guide and he was great. Lots of tips on walking technique for both the novice and experienced walker alike. Great pace throughout and lots of advice on any walking ailments from blisters to sore knees. He also had lots of little 'optional extra walks' up his sleeve, a good sense of humour but not such a great choice in his music!! Claire was our camp manager and she was fabulous. Camp always well set up on arrival with tea and biscuits waiting. Her dinners were absolutely great and exactly what you needed after a long day walking. I have some special dietary requirements and she went out of her way to get me food I could eat and cook a separate dinner for me. She was always helpful and really made the camping experience great. Claire our camp manager was
Walking poles are a MUST even if you have not used them before, you will need them on this trip. Bring with you a sense of humour and sense of adventure and you will be fine and have a great trip.
What a fantastic fortnight with new found friends . Although cycling was tough in the heat everyone pulled together and made it through to the exhilarating finishes. Cycling, sun, music, history and friendship, what more could you ask for !
The history and tenacity of the Cuban people in the face of adversity and the joy of their music. Aside from this, completing the infamous Day 9 !
Maurice was an inspiration. He was a guide, teacher, historian, biologist, rapper, dancer and friend who looked after stronger and weaker cyclists equally and made everyone on the trip feel uniquely special.
Go with an open mind and join in the spirit of the island. However, be prepared for somewhat basic sanitary facilities during the ride and the inevitable upset stomachs. Take plenty of snacks and energy bars. The fruit and snacks during the rides are plentiful, but if like me you hanker for a bag of crisps or savoury snack bring them with you. Luxury food items in shops are few and far between !
I was recommended this trip several years ago, and it did not disappoint! Everything about this holiday was excellent – our guide, Alvaro-top marks, the hotel, comfortable and welcoming with excellent food and a good wine list, and amazing walks with beautiful scenery.
I found some of the days quite tough, but the walking was at a good pace and the encouragement kept me going allowing me to complete all walks. This is a beautiful part of Spain and I cannot recommend it highly enough.
The amazing scenery and views every day.
Our leader, Alvaro was excellent. Kind and caring and passionate about his job and his local area. Made sure that all group members were comfortable and happy and was on hand to provide local knowledge, history, geography and flora and fauna info as well as encouragement and enthusiasm.
Go on this trip!
Stunning walks set in awesome scenery. The hotel was more than adequate, as was the food.
Seeing the cliffs as we got closer. The panoramic views.
Two leaders (Albert and Emily) which gave a choice of walks. Both leaders were friendly and efficient.
The walks are tough - be warned! Wear walking boots, not shoes. My shoes fell to bits and I had to buy some boots. The weather can make or break this holiday and it as poor for two of the five walking days. Think carefully about the free day. Bolzano is lovely but it is 90 minutes away. Relying on public transport was a pain. Buses were always late and you frequently had to stand up.
A packed holiday that will keep you busy for the duration. If travelling in the hotter months, please bear this in mind as it makes the cycling worthy of a “Difficult” rating regarding Day 9 in particular!
Not sure about "inspirational", but I can say I enjoyed all aspects of this trip.
Maurice was brilliant - He knew his stuff and gave us a ton of information. Not only this, but he gave us guidance on so many things that we just couldn't go wrong regarding visiting places, buying items etc.
Leave the waterproofs behind! Believe me, you will be glad of the rain to cool you down. Try to aim to get a small pouch to attach to the saddle, or a bag on the handlebars as you wont want a sweaty rucksack on your back. You can travel super light when cycling, as you are supported by the bus where you can collect bits when you stop off for a drink/rest of each leg.
