A fantastic whistle-stop tour

A great week – lots of different aspects of Cuba, really enjoyable, very informative and a lot of fun. There is a lot of travel involved however it gave us all a good insight into some of the life in a different and fascinating country. Very hospitable hosts in the Casals Particulares.

Most Inspirational Moment

The final Salsa class with our Cuban dance partners; realising how hard most Cubans have to work in order to make ends meet; appreciating just how widespread the ability to perform music to a high standard is amongst the Cubans;

Thoughts on Group Leader

Lenay was a fabulous guide. Kind, helpful, very informative, assertive when needed, always smiley cheerful and positive, realistic about what we should expect, and she made it a great week for us all. She was very concerned that we were happy with the accommodation wherever we were, and that we let her know if anything wasn't as it might be. I don't think we could have had a better guide. A big thank you to Lenay for a great week, and for all her hard work.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Expect some long journeys; don't expect European luxuries or standards of accommodation everywhere; take time to learn some Spanish as the hosts in the cases particulares are extremely kind, and friendly; take things as you find them and with a sense of humour; understand that we are very wealthy/privileged in comparison to most Cubans; enjoy it all!

Amazing Gringo Adventure

Utterly eyeball blowing. So much to see you do not want to miss a thing The scenery is stunning. I did not realise Peru was so diverse. From massive sand dunes and dry desert to impenetrable cloud forest. Yes there were long drives and really early starts but how else can you experience the variety of sights and activities.

Most Inspirational Moment

Obviously Machu Picchu does not disappoint and the island stay is enlightening but sand boarding was so fun and I was impressed by the Nazca lines.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Aleks was great. He loves his country is knowledgeable and took really great care of us. We ate every evening as a group being taken to different restaurants. It makes the whole experience enriching.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Do the optional excursions such as sand buggies, sacred valley and star gazing. We opted not to fly over Nazca lines as view from tower was good and I was worried about air sickness but those who did it loved it.The high altitude does slow you down so be prepared for taking longer to get anywhere. The sungate walk is a must at Machu Picchu and stay til chucking out time as you have the site to yourself. Meals were cheaper than I expected so we did not spend as much as I had budgeted for, which was great. It was cold in Cusco and on Lake Titicaca especially at night so warm clothes needed. Trip notes are accurate so take their advice.

Amalfi Coast walking

A wonderful way of seeing highlights of the Amalfi and good balance of walking and other activities.
Be prepared for lots of steps!
Our guide was great, the group was fun and the hotel looked after us brilliantly.
Not much time to ‘chill out’ so advise possibly extending trip for a few rest days if you want a proper holiday.

Most Inspirational Moment

The views of the coast from the mountain and the sea.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Fun, relaxed, good local knowledge.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Take walking poles and be prepared for lots of steps.

Trails of Vietnam

I really enjoyed the hilltribe trek. The food at the home stay was excellent.

Most Inspirational Moment

our group leader was great. well informed.

Thoughts on Group Leader

This tour was very busy with many long bus rides.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Make sure you bring a padded bike seat!

Walking on Matera and Puglia

.A very interesting and varied trip, taking in some superb towns and villages, with fascinating histories and dramatic or unique architecture The countryside is pleasant but not that interesting as it lacks great scenery. Accommodation was excellent and food often very unusual and tasty.

Most Inspirational Moment

The history and sights of Matera. The architecture of Lecce, which some of us did on our free day, was sumptuous. The feast at the farmhouse we went to on our last night was fit for a king!

Thoughts on Group Leader

Our guide Giussepe was superb: he gave us loads of information about the places we visited, was an excellent leader of our walks, provided fabulous picnics and recommended or took us to great places to eat. He was very caring of every member of the group, was always cheerful and displayed a really good sense of humour. A first class guide, with only the occasional and slight lapse in correct information about the nature of the walks on some days

Advice for Potential Travellers

The walking was not always gentle and could be especially difficult in the heat, so perhaps not a good idea to go in the height of the summer. Take a walking pole or stick, as this proved necessary for some ascents or descents

Puglia: Discover the heel of Italy

We would definitely recommend this holiday; the choice of hotels was superb. There was such a wide variety of things to see and the area is very beautiful.

Most Inspirational Moment

Spending time in Matera was a real highlight and also travelling on the local train to Lecce through the olive groves.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Marinella was an exceptional guide; nothing was too much trouble and she was very knowledgable about the area and interesting to listen to. We appreciated the effort she made to find good local places for the group to eat together in the evening, and accompanying us, which made a lot of difference to our holiday.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Some of the pavements were polished cobbles so a shoe with a good grip is essential. There were quite a lot of hills and steps to negotiate.

Cycling Vietnam April 2017

One of the best holidays I have had, although very hot at times for cycling, best when we were on the move. The scenery is wonderful and great to see it from the bike. Bikes were of a good standard, but take your own saddle and pedals if you can.

Most Inspirational Moment

The descent from the stop after Dalat, scenery was awesome, the climb and descent on Hai Van Quan was impresive, very hot and most of the group made it - impressive.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Thang was excellent, worked hard to ensure everyone got a lot out of the holiday.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Take your own saddle and pedals. Do not get sun burn snorkling on Whale Island. The insects were not nearlr as bad as we expected.

Delhi to Kathmandu

A fantastic adventure from start to finish. India was hot, dirty, crowded and chaotic. It was a riot of colour, noise and amazing photo opportunities! Nepal was slightly less chaotic and provided a wonderful contrast to the madness.

Most Inspirational Moment

Both morning and evening trips on the Ganges were incredible. Not for the faint-hearted, we watched cremations on the banks of the river. We loved Chitwan even though we didn't see the elusive tiger. We went paragliding in Pokhara which was great fun.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Ronit was a great leader. We were a very small group, just four of us and Ronit. We got on extremely well and Ronit just made everything easy. He was knowledgable, informative and fun. He made navigating the chaos easy, getting us on to the train for our overnight trip, getting us tuktuks and rickshaws and adding his own experiences that he thought we would enjoy such as taking us to the Sikh temple in Delhi where we made roti, stopping at the brick factory, walking over a suspension bridge on the way to Pokhara and taking us to eat street food at a stall in Agra.

Advice for Potential Travellers

This is not a relaxing holiday. It is an adventure. Be prepared for long journeys on terrible roads. There is always something to see but you will spent a lot of time on the road. There are also some early starts. The standard of driving, generally, is not great. It was particularly dusty in Kathmandu. Some of the hotels are quite basic. Be prepared for sights you would not see in the UK. Embrace the chaos and you will have an amazing time!

Amazing trip

Our trip was amazing, can’t believe we did so much! Leaving the hotel by 8 each morning we seemed to do a week’s worth of adventure in one day! Our guide was brilliant, he was informative, fun and had great English. The hotels were much better than I expected, the one in Hoi An was particularly good.

Most Inspirational Moment

We went to a local house for a meal. Not only was the food the best of the whole trip but it was really interesting to meet the family and to gain some understanding of their way of life.

Thoughts on Group Leader

He was excellent. I don't think he could have been improved upon. Clone him!

Advice for Potential Travellers

Do it!

Almafi coast

A brillant holiday. Amazing views. Some walks are harder than others for example. Good. Path of God’s you really do need a head for heights and be prepared to doing some mini rock climbing.
The accommodation was brillant. The owners are lovely the food was amazing. The great location. A nice quiet area instead of being in the hustle and bustle of almafi town.

Most Inspirational Moment

The views, the food and having a good local guide to show us the almafi coast.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Severio was great very knowledgeable and great to have a local person doing the job.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Take Plenty of money with you. It's an expensive area. Take good walking shoes/boots and be prepared to be walking up and down loads of steps.
