Well organised, the guide Tony was faultless, knowledgeable and great company. The hotel was a lovely family run place and nothing was too much effort for the staff. The walks themselves just got better and better each day, ending with the ‘Walk of the Gods’. It was our second trip with Exodus and we have booked for next year already.
Every day .......fabulous walks in a beautiful part of Italy.

We enjoyed Mont Blanc Highlights walking, the Charmonix environment and the food in the Chalet Chocolat very much. The guide Egle and the Chef/driver/host Zohi & Ben are very professional, lovely and helpful. Definietely it’s an excellent trip!

This was a really good trip.
Came home with a real sense of having seen the diversity and contrast between the different areas that Bolivia has to offer.
Having quite a few two night stop overs in some of the locations added to the whole trip.
We crammed a lot in, but it didn’t feel too rushed.
The amazing landscape just kept giving from start to finish, but I guess standing on the Salt Flats at Uyuni and driving through the spectacular wilderness of Alti Plano had to be the most inspirational moments of the trip.
Melany was just fantastic. She kept us all well organised and well informed at all times. Her general, cultural and historical knowledge of all the different places that we visited was really good, along with her knowledge of South America as a whole.
Take plenty of layers for the different climates between the low lands and the higher altitudes and you will be fine.
Cycling Indonesia was a brilliantly organised trip which offered a glimpse into a good cross section of Indonesian, from the quiet East Javanese beaches to the bustling cultural centre of Ubud. The countryside was wonderful and the traffic did not pose a problem as they seemed to navigate around us. The terrain was hilly but none of the climbs were extreme and all in our group made it up both volcanoes in their own time. The local people were so welcoming and friendly and our guide and his crew were equally outstanding.
The best moment for me was camping on the beach in East Java - so quiet and remote considering we were on one of the most populous Islands in the world. I also loved the quiet achievement of cycling up the volcanoes.
Wira, our guide was exceptional. He was patient, looked after all our needs and was always keen to answer any questions we had. He was a good cyclist and encouraged us to ride at our own pace which made for an enjoyable cycling experience. We could go as fast or as slow as we wanted. The rest of the Exodus team were equally efficient, making sure we always had refreshments, a hearty lunch and a well stoked supply of my favourite Beng Beng chocolate bars.
It is the engagement with the people and the culture that is the standout and produce the strongest memories. Take time to look around and learn as much as possible. I would also advise to do some cycle training beforehand as there are quite a few hills.

Vania de Proli was excellent . She had very good local knowledge , was very well organised and looked after the group in a very thoughtful manner throughout the week making sure everyone was comfortable with the walks
A wonderful trip which exceeded our expectations. Although very day was different, each days walk was better than the day before. The TreCime walk was probably the best day hike of my life! Our guide Karl was a mine of information about the interesting history of the area this greatly added to our experience. I have no hesitation in thoroughly recommending this trip.

This is not a trip for the ‘moaning myrtles’ of this world. These countries are not ‘first world’ and things don’t often work as maybe expected. Be prepared for a 2 hour wait to clear through Yerevan Airport, broken plumbing and beds in hotel rooms and itinerary changes (especially in Armenia) due to weather, road conditions and other operational difficulties.
Take all these and more in your stride and you will have a great trip, see lots of stunning countryside, meet some wonderful warm friendly people, eat some amazing fresh foods, drink great local wines and see stunning frescos and ancient architecture in seemingly inaccessible places.
At my request our guide kindly added a brief visit to an artists home and gallery in the village of Garni. We had a tour of the gallery, met the artists, discussed their work and methods and had a quick tour of their old family home. One of the artists was a tapestry weaver, her work was amazing in design and colour and now back home, has inspired me to dig out my weaving loom. It was very interesting side excursion and made a nice change from churches and monasteries. Maybe something that could be added to future tours.
Both our leaders were exceptional, Sahakanush (Armenia) and Nino (Georgia). Quite different in their approaches but both very knowledgeable and were happy to inform us of all parts of their cultures, giving us an insight into their respective countries and talking on topics such as history, education, economics, and all sorts of social aspects and taboos. Sahakanush even introduced us to different types of Armenian music with CD's for the long bus journeys. Both had lovely terms of address, Sahakanush ‘my dears’ and Nino ‘ladies & gentlemen’, they were always polite, friendly and helpful.
Be prepared for long bus journeys, maps, books and music helped while away the time; churches and monasteries do tend to blur into one after a while. Maybe there are a few too many! Long, full-on days mean little downtime at the end of the day. Take advantage of the included lunches, several hotels outside of the cities had no nearby facilities eg; cafes, bars, restaurants. By having a large lunch, we found that a hotel soup would suffice in the evening. Be warned that Armenia doesn’t have a no-smoking policy, and as well as bars, restaurants, smoking is also allowed in some hotel bedrooms. In Georgia there is ban due to be imposed in a couple of years, but many businesses already adhere to their own no-smoking policies and don’t allow it inside. Hotel Diana in Goris had a lovely café at the back of it’s carpark, amazing kebobs, borsch & pilaf. Dilijan - Tea with the ‘Molokan Family’ was a lovely experience, but the arts and crafts of Dilijan (apart from 1 woodcarver) seemed nothing more than tourist ‘tat’. In Yerevan take a walk around the Kond area of the city, lovely (pre-soviet) tumbledown houses and winding streets. Visit the cascade at dusk as it all lights up, there are plenty of restaurants and cafes here and a real bustling atmosphere as the whole city seems to come out for an evening promenade. Tbilisi is a lovely city, we didn’t go on the museum tour, preferring to explore more of the city, be sure to visit the Flea market, the Dezerter market and the Kaleidoscope House and if you feel brave take a bath in one of the many bath houses. Enjoy the wine tasting excursion and family hospitality. Beware of tiled floors in the showers, some are very slippery when wet.
A wonderful week spent exploring the varied landscapes and villages of Provence. The hikes are a little challenging at times but our leader Isabelle was fantastic at pacing the group and ensuring everyone was able to enjoy each walk. The scenery is stunning, especially the hike through the Verdon Gorge.
The Thursday walk from Moustiers-Ste-Marie. The first 4 km of the walk is a steep uphill climb but the views at the top are worth the climb. The walk back down the old Roman Road is very rocky and quite a challenge but I felt so proud of myself for completing it.
Isabelle is absolutely amazing. She looks after each and every member of the group and ensures everyone is happy, well and enjoying themselves. She has a wonderful knowledge of the local area, from flora and fauna, food, history and all aspects of the Provencal culture. Her passion for Provence helped us all fall in love with the area. She provides dried fruits and nuts to keep up your energy on the walks, paces the group well and even brings treats to share (local sweets, biscuits and cakes).
Some of the hikes can be quite challenging at times, quite steep in parts and often rocky. This means you have to concentrate on your footing and take your time. I wouldn't say trekking poles are essential, but they certainly help and make it easier. Good hiking boots / shoes are a must. Be prepared with snacks to keep up your energy and plenty of water (at least 1.5 litres for each walk).
This was our second Exodus walking holiday, having walked in the Amalfi last year. We had a fabulous week exploring an area completely new to us. The Prosecco Hills are truly beautiful – rolling hills backed by the Pre Alps and the Dolomites – stunning! Our group was made up of a great bunch of people who were a lot of fun to spend the week with. A highlight was finding out that Vania was going to be our leader for the week, having first met her in the Amalfi when she was training there. Vania is a lovely leader – thoughtful, fun and was aware of everyone’s needs at all times – during the walks, in the restaurants when ordering food etc. Naturally, prosecco featured strongly during the week and we almost felt like experts by the end of the week!
There were many inspirational moments during our trip - the walk on the last day to Mt Cesen was stunning, as was the beautiful restaurant on the final night. The walk through the vineyards on a very hot day and then finding a prosecco vending machine at our lovely lunch stop was both fun and welcome! Tasting tiramisu in Treviso was a treat. Visiting the family vineyard was great and informative and having the opportunity to revisit Venice on our free day was fantastic.
Vania was an excellent group leader. She was knowledgeable, easy going, caring, smiling and patient - lovely to be around.
Take layers - although for 6 out of the 7 days we had lovely, warm weather, one day we had rain and thunder so options clothes-wise are essential. In our opinion, this level of walking is not hard-core. There are some strenuous parts, so you can feel challenged at times, but there are also plenty of breaks, so as long as you are reasonably fit you should be absolutely fine.
This was a fantastic introduction to Sicily and to planned cycling tours. We had a fantastic group of 15 riders from the UK, NZ, Canada and Ireland. We ate and rode together every day. The weather at this time of year is great for cycling.
