Bar the odd bikepacking weekender as a kid, Sam’s first real introduction to adventure travel was a post-university kayak from Liverpool to Leeds. It was back- and, ultimately, paddle-breaking work through heavy, head-on winds and downpours. But it sparked a desire to not just see the world but experience it. He’s since ridden a camel through the Sahara, travelled the length of Mexico and cycled the heel of Italy, among many other adventures.
