Thoughts on Group Leader
It was great we had the same leader for the whole tour. He was so knowledgeable, patient, helpful with a great sense of humour.

Hotels great (Florence Dixie in Puerta Natales my least favourite) especially Don Juan and the one on the island in Patagonia. Miguel was so organisednd professional all transfers so smooth. Took any possible stress away. And of course landscapes amazing.

Chile is fantastic country. This tour only gives you a flavour of it, making you want to go back again
Torres del Paine NP and the south in general
Was very helpful. always available. Kept things light hearted. Appeared to have good relationship with all people on tour.
Excellent organisation and guides.
Patagonia and Rapa Nui
Brilliant, Miguel was helpful, friendly and very organised.
Everything about the trip was spectacular; Miguel (our guide), the country (Chile), the excursions, the weather.
The highlights for me were the hike in Torre del Paine in Patagonia and the hike on Osorno volcano.
Miguel was exceptional! Extremely knowledgeable. Extremely personable. Excellent organizational skills.
Great holiday from start to finish. Varied itinerary – I felt as if we’d covered a lot of ground & gained a good insight into the various areas/culture etc of Chile.
Seeing the sun come up & from my bedroom window & shine on the mountains in Torres del Paine. It took my breath away.
Miguel was amazing. One of the best guides I’ve had anywhere in the world. He was very organised & made sure we were informed of the next days arrangements/timings the night before. Very knowledgeable on his country & imparted a lot of local knowledge as we travelled around. Nothing was too much trouble for him.
There were some very early mornings & long drives, although there are plenty of stops. There were 5 internal flights but these were well organised & we saw some fab scenery from the plane. The surroundings & amazing scenery make up for this.
From snow-capped mountain peaks, lakes, volcanoes, glaciers to the desert, Chile had so much to offer! We covered so much in 2 weeks. This trip is the perfect way to see the country and the main highlights. We managed to see to some key wildlife such as Condors, Guanacos, Viscacha, Flamingos, and various more. Miguel, our leader was truly exceptional as a local leader as he had all the knowledge from wildlife, culture to geothermal, he had all the answers to our questions. Some of the hotels we stayed at were great from the views of Lake Pehoe from Hosteria Pehoe to the pool and outdoor area in San Pedro de Atacama, it was great to chill after some early starts.
It's very hard to choose as every part of the trip was special! 1. Seeing the Flamingos in their natural habitat 2.Torres del Paine National Park, seeing the granite peaks covered in snow and the turquoise lakes to experiencing the sunrise from the hotel. Our hotel also had the perfect view sitting on lake pehoe, I think we will always remember taking our luggage across the bridge to the hotel, this was a unique experience! Getting close up with the Glaciers, this was my first encounter and the colour was simply magnificent! 3. Atacama Desert - from the Geyser at sunrise to the seeing the milky way and seeing the whole of Scorpion constellation was truly memorable.
Miguel was fantastic! He was always on hand for any questions we had about Chile. He suggested which restaurants to eat at and joined us on our dinners suggesting the best local dish to try. Miguel was incredibly useful at the airports for all the internal flights, we literally did not have to worry about doing anything from checking in to adding our luggage tags, he was the pro. He knew the right timing to get to the sites so we had it to ourselves such as the hike in Patagonia (we were the only ones on the trail) to seeing the Flamingos (the crowds were leaving as we arrived so we were able to enjoy the landscape peacefully). Some people in the group were not able to get onto the stargazing tour and Miguel was kind enough to take them to view the stars in San Pedro with his torch, he had an astronomy app on his phone and was able to point out the constellations. He went above and beyond as he didn't have to do that! Our whole group said we would be very lost without him which goes to show how great he is!
- Bring good thermals, waterproof jackets, waterproof shoes as the weather changes very quickly, it can get rainy, windy, sunny and chilly (don't mind the pun!) in Patagonia and early mornings in the Atacama desert. - Walking poles for Torres del Paine - Bring a mask or scarf to cover your face for the Moon of Valley as it can get - A few early starts and internal flights but that's the best way to see Chile as it's such a long country
An enjoyable trip and you do cover vast distances but for a 13 day trip too much time is spent hanging around in airports.
I note that the itinerary has been tweaked for 2025 so this may help a bit.
One word of warning for solo travellers (apart from the excessive single supplement) is that there are very few group meals. Our guide did not stay in the group hotel at Santiago so for first couple of nights you’re left to your own devices for evening meals. We then flew north to Atacama and again no group meals. Only once we were in the Lake District did guide arrange a group meal one night and then there were group meals all the time in Patagonia.
Scenery in Patagonia was fantastic and we had a couple of decent walks.
Apart from San Pedro de Atacama the hotels were all good although wifi often only in reception area.
Credit and debit cards are accepted everywhere so you don’t need much cash. Wine is cheaper than beer or soft drinks and evening meals no dearer than UK.
Be prepared for a lot of early starts and quite a few breakfast boxes.

Take a thermos cup and make yourself a coffee at the hotel to take on the bus.
Thank you for sharing your experience and reflections on the trip. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the stunning scenery in Patagonia and the well-paced walks, as well as the practical tips on currency and dining—those are sure to help future travellers.
We appreciate your feedback on the time spent in airports and the limited group meals early in the itinerary. It’s good to know the 2025 itinerary adjustments may help address some of these concerns. Your comments about solo travel and the guide’s accommodation arrangements are important and will be reviewed with our local operator to improve consistency and comfort across all locations.
Thanks again for your honest review. We hope to welcome you on another Exodus adventure soon.
