This trip offered an exceptional variety of experiences, from climbing Lion Rock and cycling through rural villages to visiting a local smallholding and enjoying white-water rafting—alongside memorable visits to beautiful temples. We met our group and guide on the first evening, and from that moment onward, the experience exceeded expectations.
There were so many highlights that it is difficult to single out just a few. However, sharing an outdoor lunch prepared by a local family and visiting the Udawalawe Elephant Orphanage were particularly special moments. That said, exploring a tea plantation, touring a spice garden, hiking Little Adam’s Peak, and every other activity on the itinerary were equally enjoyable.
Our guide, Prathap, was outstanding—humble, highly organised, genuine, and engaging. He was expertly supported by his assistant, Lucky, and our driver, Charles, whose combined efforts ensured the trip ran seamlessly and was thoroughly enjoyable throughout.
Exodus Travels has curated this itinerary exceptionally well, striking the perfect balance between vibrant city life (albeit wonderfully chaotic), peaceful rural experiences with opportunities for cycling and hiking, and relaxing time along the coast.
We are already looking forward to planning our next adventure.
Most Inspirational Moment
Probably cycling through the villages and stopping for lunch with a local family but there were a lot of great moments.

Prathap was AMAZING! He made the trip. I cannot over emphasise how good he was. Lucky and Charles were also excellent.
Advice for Potential Travellers
The trip is full on, so make the most of the rest days.
Periyar: Visit to spice plantation; Unexpected Roman Catholic procession with drums. Generally, the people of Kerala were the highlights. They were so smiley and peaceful. No raised voices. Our guide and the drivers also.
Thoughts on Group Leader
He was very helpful and was always available. He would arrange to come to the restaurants at times just to help us out.
The trip was fantastic. Excellent itinerary and wonderful tour leader in Biju.
Most Inspirational Moment
There were so many highlights, but I would say Munnar was really lovely visiting the school at Srishti, the trek through the tea plantation and eating with the whole group in the local cafe organised by Biju. The early morning walk through Madurai was lovely and the Martial Arts performance on Day 8 was utterly thrilling!
Thoughts on Group Leader
Biju was outstanding. Simply the best leader I have had on any group tour I have taken. Kind, patient, calm, he went above and beyond, all day every day in a way that was extraordinary. Kerala was a beautiful place to visit, but it was Biju that made this trip truly memorable. He is an extraordinary asset to Exodus. Thank you Biju!
Luka our guide was knowledgeable and spoke great English he was very organised and helpful He made the trip very relaxing and enjoyable
Most Inspirational Moment
The ferry crossings were amazing as the sea was frozen and all we could see was ice Coming into Stockholm was very scenic and something I won't forget.
Thoughts on Group Leader
He was extremely good, very knowledgeable and sincere in his sharing of the history Super organised and helpful I would be happy to have him as a guide again.
As my first ever safari, this trip was amazing. The wildlife viewing was way beyond what I could have imagined as was the warmth of welcome from all the people I encountered.
Most Inspirational Moment
Hard to pick one out. Tarangire was so beautiful and the sheer number of elephants was astonishing, and the chance to see up close little lion cubs hidden up a tree.. The big cats of the Serengeti too. Every day there was a new wildlife highlight. Meeting the women of the Datoga tribe and joining in grinding corn while they sang was a moment I will remember for a very long time.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Paul is a very experienced guide and his knowledge of wildlife and its behaviour is excellent - so often his understanding of "what the animal will do next" kept us ahead of other vans in the scramble to see the best action.
I’ll be recommending anybody and everybody to go on this trip. I learnt so much and want to continue reading more now on my return. I will be returning to India. I love the Exodus ethos.
It was my first time to India, and it won’t be my last. I fell in love with it.
Exodus, as always made the trip the Waitrose equilvent of supermarkets, a first class trip. Embracing the culture and different experiences everyday was truly magical. Made all the better by our marvellous guide Mayank.
Most Inspirational Moment
Taj Mahal - it blew me away. Elephant sanctuary. The beautiful palaces.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Mayank was professional and approachable for the whole two weeks. His love and passion for India was shared with us in a positive way. He really went the extra mile and really seemed to get everyone individually. A very kind and thoughtful person.
What a great trip! Laos has the most extraordinary people. They are so kind and gentle. We loved riding the train. The motels were great, the outdoor activities were so much fun and the historical sites and temples were very interesting. Our guides Ning and Sac were outstanding and organized. I highly recommend this trip.
I love the way Exodus respects and rewards the local people and businesses.
Most Inspirational Moment
Nam Kat Yorla Pa Resort and the time we spent there was so peaceful and beautiful.

Neing was very well organized and kept everyone informed and involved. She was kind and friendly and was ready to help no matter the problem. I really enjoyed getting to know her. Sac did such a great job introducing us to his culture. He was fun and knowledgeable and made sure we were safe and taken care of. We really enjoyed him a lot.
Everything was well organised from start to finish. The guide was quite extraordinary. The driver was also outstanding. Many highlights during the two weeks. Packed with a variety of activities. Choice of hotels was excellent.
Most Inspirational Moment
Munnar, the mountains and the tea plantations.

The best guide I have ever had on my travels with Exodus. Really caring and enthusiastic. Highly professional and did everything he possibly could to make the trip enjoyable, safe and varied. Helped us with choice of restaurants and choice of food too.
This was our first time with Exodus (our first group trip!) and everything was just so easy – from the initial booking and throughout the whole trip we could relax and enjoy the experience knowing everything was being taken care of.
Most Inspirational Moment
Climbing Sigiriya (so glad we set off very early!), seeing the elephants in the national park plus at the transit home. We really enjoyed the village walk at Kitulgala, especially getting the 'ferry' over! Husband enjoyed the white water rafting. The optional market and cooking experience was amazing! Such fantastic food that we'd all helped cook. Walking on Horton Plains was fab - wonderful views.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Lucky was the most knowledgeable and organised leader. Every evening we would get a WhatsApp detailing the timings and itinerary for the next day. Everything ran like clockwork! He would point out interesting things to look at from the bus and he taught us lots about Sri Lankan life and customs, using his own family's experiences. He had a good sense of humour! He always made sure we got the most out of every place we visited.
Our guides were all exceptional. So kind, helpful and informative going above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing experience. Mohamed, Youssef, Hassam and Haleem.
Most Inspirational Moment
The guides, the scenery, food and a very nice group of fellow riders.
Thoughts on Group Leader
I can't rate Mohamed highly enough. He was outstanding in all areas. So kind, helpful and informative. Nothing was too trouble much for him.
