once in a lifetime scenery but every single day!!

This trip really is an adventure. From San Pedro de Atacama and The Devil’s Throat Gorge taking in Geysers (and if you book it yourself the most amazing star gazing astronomy expereince) Chile is impressive but is quickly over shadowed by the wonders of cycling in Salta Argentina. So many days of amazing geology and scenery it is both joyful and overwhelmingly beautiful. Read the full itinerary and then visualise that more or less every one of those days will be spectacular. Highlights included the downhill ride to the Hill of Seven Colours, the Los Cardones National Park (thousands and thousands of cacti and mountains) and the cycle along the Conchas river which is just life affirming. There’s also a free day in Salta which is great as it’s a traditional Argentian city with a lot of quirky culture and history and some great steak restaurants. We also had quite a few trips to vineyards to do winetasting which Alejandro was happy to organise.

Most Inspirational Moment

So many. We had a great all male small group who bonded incredibly well over wine, empanadas and cycling chat, sharing our expereinces of previous Exodus holidays (we all agreed this one was the best). The hotels were more or less all excellent apart from one and the cycling was incredible. Knowing you could cycle with confidence at altitude was a moment for me!

Alejandro and Belen are a dream team. It's not a job for Alejandro it's a way of life. He is a teacher, a friend, a guide, a mechanic, a raconteur, a historian and an excellent barbecuer. He's has been guiding for years all over the world and he knows his stuff but more importantly wants to be there and get to know you. The long days checking bikes and sorting logistics of restaurants, hotels and finger mishaps did not at any stage lessen his enthusiasm of energy to focus on giving us the best expereince possible. Belen was on her first tour and she was incredible, enthusiastic, helpful and very organised. We called them our cycling parents!

Advice for Potential Travellers

Don't overpack-you will spend most of your time cycling. the high altitude takes a few days to get used to so don't get disheartened if you have zero energy on day 1 your body does adapt. Prepare to have fun cycling by getting fit before you arrive, the distances are not that long but there are hills and a few gravel days so you should be confident on a bike and have the stamina to deal with it. There's lots of red wine and steak if you want it but the food is varied with a lot of traditional stews and empanadas. Take some bags of sweets to share (chocolate eclairs as the Argentinians appear to be mad for Dulche de Leche ). Also we spent three days before the trip in Santiago de Chile based in Provincia (lots of do and see from hills to history) and three days after the trip in Buenos Aires based in Palermo (very arty, bohemian and safe) which just gave us a much greater love of the region.

Victoria Falls to Cape Town - Camping

The trip was absolutely fantastic, our guides Ian and Ende were the best guides I have ever had on any trip. their work ethic and attention to detail was outstanding as was their knowledge; their cooking skills were pretty good too! Ian and Ende brought so much fun and laughter to the trip and really helped our group to bond. the itinerary was fantastic and we managed to pack so much into the three week trip! Totally awesome.

Most Inspirational Moment

Victoria Falls sunset cruise (which was extra) and the falls, which were magnificent Chobe Safari x 2 Sand dunes and petrified trees in Namibia Cape peninsula trip Down time in Swakopmund. Felix Unite was definitely the best campsite

Thoughts on Group Leader

Ian and Ende were absolutely brilliant. By far and away the best guides I have ever had the pleasure to travel with on any trip anywhere in the world. Their work ethic was astonishing - their ability to drive hundreds of kilometres and then quickly cook the most beautiful meals, whilst also ensuring we had all assembled our tents correctly, was amazing. Ian and Ende were true leaders and will be friends forever.

Very good trip

Outstanding guide and trip itinerary near perfect, but with a few areas for improvement. There is a limit to how many souks you need to see. Fez in particular felt like one too many – very little new learnt in over an hour. Generally, I could have done with a lot more history, both cultural and political. The last 3 days were a disappointment in the sense that there was very little of interest beyond the mountains themselves and included a very long transfer. At least a day should have had a distinct focus.

Most Inspirational Moment

Casablanca mosque/Roman ruins

Thoughts on Group Leader

Excellent, almost flawless. Only reservations were slightly slow to react on a couple of issues but all resolved well in the end. If the choice of local guides was his, I would have liked more detail as mentioned above.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Press for assistance in finding things to do in free time. It isn't always obvious.

Walking The Amalfi Coast

I realized I left my hiking shoes at home while at the airport. I made a phone call to see if “Exodus” could find out if I could purchase shoes before our hike the next day. I received a return call within 10 minutes. I could purchase shoes and just talk to our tour guide. The were so good that our tour guide, Terese, knew of my situation before I arrived and asked me about it before I could ask her. I was very impressed about the team work from Exodus.

Most Inspirational Moment

Teresa, our tour guide was great. She kept us well informed about the next days schedule and very encouraging. The views from our hikes were amazing. A great group of co-hikers.

Thoughts on Group Leader

She was GREAT, very knowledgeable, accommodating, friendly, understanding, helpful, funny.

Cycle the Balkans

Amazing trip. Itinerary allowed us to see a lot while still fitting in some downtime. Fantastic tour guides.

Most Inspirational Moment

Everything minus some of the hotels. Literally the entire trip was a highlight. The cycling, the scenery, experiencing new cultures, the food, the other people on the tour. Incredible trip.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Rei is awesome. He was easily a part of the group while keeping his leadership role in check. He set a good pace on the rides. He was punctual and made sure we had the info we needed. Very hard worker.

A fantastic journey through Central Asia bursting with History and Culture

As an Exodus staff member (Senior Consultant), I’ve been lucky enough to travel on quite a few trips but Central Asia has been on my list for years. This is an incredible trip visiting 3 Stans, and all very different from each other. The scenery and hiking in Kyrgyzstan was spectacular and the Golden Eagle experience was a real highlight. Uzbekistan was such a contrast to the first 2 countries and some of the sights were breathtakingly beautiful.
All of the countries were fascinating in their own way and our guides Vitaliy and Dilshod were excellent! Both very knowledgeable and gave us great insights and the history of each place we visited.

Most Inspirational Moment

Walking the streets of the old city in Khiva was like stepping back in time 1000 years. It has been fantastically restored so that you are practically walking through history in the modern day.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Vitaliy and Dilshod were excellent from start to finish. Their attention to detail, information and planning meant that we always knew what was happening and when. Delivering so much information and history cannot be easy but they managed to strike a great balance between detail and content that we were all kept interested every day.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Pack for all weather as we experienced from 7'C to 42'C throughout the trip, and keep some room for shopping as even the lesser shopping travellers still ended up taking home some new purchases. They don't call it the Silk Road for nothing :)

Amazing Galapagos adventure trip

This trip surpassed expectations, travelled early May . Covers 4 islands ( with stays ) plus another as a day visit . Lots of snorkeling and one long hike ( volcano Sierra Negra ) , others are short duration of couple hours . Lots of marine wildlife and land wildlife. Sea lions in abundance , very playful and curious. Swam with penguins, sea lions , hammerhead sharks, turtles, copious amounts of fish , many types of birds seen ( obviously including blue footed boobies) , lots of marine iguanas .

Most Inspirational Moment

Pure fluke that our group were in water ( Kicker Rock ) when a whale shark came through. Fantastic moment , extremely rare for that area .

Thoughts on Group Leader

Isabela Buchelli was outstanding . Highly organised, diplomatic, humorous and sociable , full of information she willingly shared and keen eyes to spot wildlife, very safety conscious .

Advice for Potential Travellers

Sun very fierce so make sure you apply lotion especially when snorkeling ( or cover up with rash/sun wear ) . Try to have small dollar bill notes to hand as tipping is "expected" by everyone ( boat crews especially ). Some restaurants and bigger shops take cards but generally cash is king in Galapagos, especially smaller souvenir shops ( for t-shirts, caps etc )

Walking in Andalucia

It was a great week. To have accommodation in an amazing spot solely for the group made it a very relaxing base. The walks were tailored to suit the abilities of the whole group. There were always get out options so nobody was under pressure. The walks were also chosen to highlight the diverse landscapes of the region. Our guide, Michael Newcomb, was organised, interesting and passionate about the area. He looked after us extremely well. I had a wonderful time.

Most Inspirational Moment

The Caminito del Rey, Ronda, Grazalema National Park, and the wildflowers and birds.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Excellent and inspirational!

Cycle Northern France: Brittany to Normandy

Yannis was an excellent tour guide, whom I would highly recommend for any bike tour given his thorough researching and understanding of ideal trails, tour sites, hotel accommodations, and every aspect of the tour.

Most Inspirational Moment

Just about everything.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Yannis's level of knowledge with respect to the tour sites, trip route, local knowledge and interaction with the group was excellent. He far surpassed my expectations.

Highlights of Sicily

Having done over 30 trips with Exodus, this was yet another good one

Most Inspirational Moment

The cathedral in Palermo, the hike in the National Park and Tiziano, the guide.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Great fun and very sociable
